As an author, I use an organic writing style which means I don't always know where a story will go, I let the story write itself. The drawback to this style is that without inspiration, there can sometimes be gaps between posting chapters - as I'm sure some readers have noticed - but it doesn't mean that I'm not working on the stories, merely that work is slow going. Things like deciding which of several different actions a character can take; choreographing action sequences so that they have a natural flow and not just a bunch of things lumped together; researching information on characters, places and events; these are all things that can slow down a story from the author's end, but they're also things that as the author I consider important to producing stories - even short character pieces - of acceptable quality. |
