Keiko and Kintaro stood outside of Keitaro's room.
"So… you think we'll find anything we'll regret?" Kintaro asked.
"Always, but that's from living outside of normal folks," Keiko replied before she knocked on Keitaro's door. After a moment, she slowly opened the door as she said, "Keitaro…. Motoko…"
Inside, a sleeping Keitaro was snuggling up with a sleeping Motoko. Keitaro had one arm around Motoko, while she had one arm draped across his chest.
"Wow, they're cute together like that," Kintaro quietly said. "It's almost picturesque..."
"Movie, live-action TV, anime, or manga?" Kintaro asked with a gentle smile as he hugged his wife with one arm.
"Eh, I'm feeling like it's manga-ish. Not enough for the rest. I think she and Keitaro really are in love with each other. Shame I'm gonna ruin the moment, but I'm a mother," Keiko said with an evil grin. She bellowed, "Wake up!"
"Gah!" Keitaro and Motoko cried out as they leapt from the bed.
"So… you still virgins or are we gonna speed up the wedding?" Keiko asked with a grin. Kintaro shook his head.
"We're-We're still virgins!" Keitaro cried out. "All we did was hold each other!"
"You're evil…" Motoko said, glaring at Keiko.
"I'm a parent, so it's my duty to do stuff like this," Keiko replied with a wicked grin. "So after you two get dressed, come down for breakfast and then we'll dole out chores and tasks for the day."
"But we'll be leaving today!" Keitaro cried out.
"Then a chore or two won't hurt, will it?" Keiko asked.
"If the chore isn't too long…" Keitaro sheepishly answered as he looked away.
"Then I'll come up with something," Keiko replied. With that Keiko and Kintaro walked out of Keitaro's room.
Motoko sighed before she said, "You dress first and then I will."
"You sure? I can wait or-" Keitaro began.
"I need to meditate," Motoko quickly said.
As Keitaro got dressed, he wondered if he did something wrong or if his mother rubbed Motoko the wrong way.

After the couple got dressed, they headed for breakfast.
"So… What tasks do you have for us after this meal, Keiko-san?" Motoko asked before she began to eat.
"Oh, not much. Just a simple task or two, like rearranging our supply room before we open for the day," Keiko answered.
At first, Motoko didn't think that was too bad, but then she heard Keitaro groan.
"Keitaro?" Motoko asked. Keiko didn't say anything, but turned her attention towards Keitaro.
"N-nothing!" Keitaro quickly said.
"That's good to hear. Make sure to eat quickly and then put on your uniforms. I'll meet you outside the storage room," Keiko said.

Motoko soon was reminded why Keitaro didn't seem to mind working at the Hinata.
Anytime Motoko or Keitaro put an ingredient down, Keiko either muttered something about it not placed right or about it was on the wrong shelf. Sometimes, Keiko grumbled about how something was placed the wrong way.
"I fail to see how placing this box with the ingredients side facing towards us is so important, while she doesn't care if we put another box's ingredients list facing away from us." Motoko grumbled under her breath.
Seemingly teleporting right behind Motoko, Keiko said, "Oh, it's a combination of allergies, people who don't like artificial ingredients, and those who prefer the artificial stuff, can quit, if you want, but it will reflect badly on you."
When Motoko and Keitaro finished putting all the stuff on shelves, Keiko went silent, Motoko and Keitaro waited and hoped.
"It's not the best, but the first shift about to begin in an hour," Keiko said before she walked out of the room.
Motoko sighed, "I never thought I would look back on my childhood training and think that I was so lucky."
"It wasn't that bad," Keitaro replied. "She's just a perfectionist."
"Perhaps, but at least back on the Shinmei-ryu, I was allowed to hit something if I got too mad," Motoko said.
"Are you two still in there?" Keiko's voice called out, making the two lovebirds jump.
"Coming!" Keitaro and Motoko replied before they ran out the room.
As both Keitaro and Motoko stood in front of Keiko, the Urashima matriarch studied them. After walking around them a few times, Keiko said, "Alright, I've come to a decision. Sit down."
After Keitaro, Motoko, Keiko, and Kintaro sat down. Keiko looked Motoko in the eyes and said, "Alright, you pass yourself off as a samurai in a time where it makes you look like a sideshow in a circus. From a social standpoint, your positives are that you have looks and are the heir to the Shinmei-Ryu. Your negatives are that you have a temper, have a severe dislike of men while in a patriarchy land, you'd rather use violence to solve problems, and fewer and fewer people go to the Shinmei-ryu each year. All things considered, I can reject you and claim I'm saving face."
Motoko's fist curled up as she wished she had a sword nearby.
"But I have a bit of a soft spot for my kids and I kind of see myself in you in a weird way, so I give my permission. I'm fine with the proposed marriage," Keiko said with a shrug. "If you want to speak with me about topics you'd rather not Keitaro hear, my ears are open.
Keitaro let out a sigh of relief, while Motoko calmed down a little. She still disliked Keiko, though.
"So, Keitaro… You let Kanako know?" Keiko asked.
"N-no, but it might be a good idea. She'll love Motoko! I'll write the letter right away!" Keitaro said before he left the room.
Once out of earshot, Keiko began to chuckle a little, "Poor Keitaro… He has no idea what that'll do."
"What? What will sending a letter to Kanako do?" Motoko asked with a glare.
"Oh? He hasn't told you about her?" Keiko asked.
"He has, but I fail to see what is so funny," Motoko answered.
"Well, if he did tell you about her, then I have nothing more to tell you," Keiko replied. When she saw Motoko grind her teeth, "But I guess I can give you a hint."
Motoko smiled. However, she sensed something was wrong when Keiko slowly opened her mouth.
At that moment, Keitaro came in and loudly spoke over Keiko as he said, "Wrote it! Just need to doublecheck if I can send it over the fax!"
As Keitaro left the room, Keiko said, "And that's her tell."
"I… Could you please repeat it? I wasn't able to catch it because of Keitaro," Motoko said, looking a bit annoyed.
"Sorry, but you really need to pay attention better," Keiko replied with a smirk. "So… Any particular plans for the wedding? What kind of style? Eastern? Western?"
"Shinto. Keitaro and I had a talk about it and we decided to keep it traditional" Motoko said.
"Ever planned your wedding before you even met Keitaro?" Keito asked with a smirk.
"No, why do you ask?" Motoko asked with some confusion.
"Everyone knows the groom is the last part of the wedding," Keiko said with a smile. Hitting Kintaro with her elbow, Keiko asked, "Isn't that right, honey?"
"Ye-yeah," Kintaro answered.
Keitaro walked in and asked, "Mom, Can you send this letter for me? Motoko and I need to get ready to head back to the Hinata. The fax had a note that said it was broken."
"Certainly," Keiko replied, taking the letter. "So just making sure. The date when you two are getting married will be…?"
"When the two of us get into Tokyo university," Keitaro said with a nod.
"Right, so I'll kick your asses if I learn you simply decide to elope," Keiko said with an evil grin that sent shivers down the spines of those around her. "So… are you getting ready to head home or will I have a couple more employees today?"
"I apologize, but we'll be heading home," Motoko quickly replied.
Keiko sighed, but said, "I'll accept, but I just know I'll be dealing with a dozen sad schoolgirls… Eh, they'll eat more chocolate and I'll send the troublesome ones to Tsuruko."
As Motoko and Keitaro walked off, Kintaro asked, "So… won't this upset your mother?"
"She did like that Narusegawa girl, but Mother can deal with it on her own time," Keiko answered.
"She… won't try to break them up, will she?" Kintaro asked, worried for his son.
"She'll have to accept it. She did give the Inn to him, so she can't threaten to take it away. Tsuruko did tell me that she believes Motoko might go into law, so I'm tempted to take a trip and watch the fireworks," Keiko answered. "Now let's get to work. We've gotten a bit lazy with the kids helping us."
Kintaro groaned a little as he followed Keiko inside.

The trip back home was uneventful and quiet. As they headed up the stairs, Keitaro decided to break up the silence. "So everything's going pretty great for us. Our parents gave their blessings and so have our friends."
"True, but now that I had some time to think about it, we might not have every one of our friends' blessings," Motoko replied with a frown. Seeing Keitaro's doubtful face, she answered, "I'm talking about my so-called fan club. I worry that the lessons they learned from me will have put a rift between me and them, once they learn about our relationship."
"Well, if they don't like it, then they weren't your friends," Keitaro replied, as if it was as simple as that.
"I wish it was as simple as that, but I will deal with it in my own way," Motoko said back as they reached the door. "But for now, let us simply relax and enjoy the Inn. While I have some regrets about my actions, I have none towards our relationship."
Keitaro nodded.

Somewhere else...
Seta was getting ready to go back to the Hinata. He fingered a ring that he kept in his pocket as he recalled fond memories of Haruka.
"Were it not for Keitaro and Naru, I might not have gotten the courage for this. I hope you two lovebirds are happy together, just like how Haruka and me will be!" Seta said as he started up his van.
Indeed, the mere thought of Naru and Keitaro marrying each other gave Seta the backbone he wanted for so long.

Deep in Iceland, at an extremely remote hot springs, a letter was delivered.
A young lady dressed in a gothic lolita fashion gasped in surprise when she saw the letter was from a Keitaro Urashima. She practically skipped her way to her room, hugging the letter on the way, while her grandmother was at a nearby hot springs.
After locking the door, she carefully opened the letter. Once she finished reading the contents…
A horrified cry was heard throughout the land,"Nnnnnooooo!"
Everywhere across the country, ice either gained a crack in it or shattered.
