Ken chapter 8 . 7/12
Great chapter with specific detail from the main timeline we are all familiar with and how some slight changes can lead to drastically different results. I enjoyed looking at the alternatives shown here and wonder what happened in the alternative timeline after our main characters went through the fissure.

Definitely liked Hoshi bringing up her thoughts after her experience in decon with Trip, and Trip contemplating the past with Hoshi as he laid in bed with his wife/not wife. A guy usually doesn't have the luxury of such a preview. Although, in the show he did get such a preview in E2. Alternative timelines are certainly fun and it certainly keeps me reading all these Enterprise stories.

I hope you add some more Hoshi/Trip after thoughts from the television series like you did here so we can see how they might of progressed to the point they are at now.

Very exciting chapter - Trouble wherever they go.

I guess I can live with the "explanation" of the disappearance of the "bond."

I love all of the characters and as long as they all end up happy, that is all that matters. In the show, I always kind of thought Archer and T'Pol would end up together because the writer's always seemed to focus on their relationship. It was fairly apparent before season 3, but then neuro-pressure and the bond came out on to the scene in season 3. Even then, the Archer/T'Pol friendship seemed to be something more even though Trip was the in the picture. T'Pol just never really seemed to embrace what Trip wanted to offer her which would explain why the bond fizzled out. I can see this happening since she never really took what he had to offer leaving with him with "loving" her but not being able "to be in love" with her.

The show did portray a strong relationship between Hoshi and Trip especially after them being trapped in decon chamber in the Observer Effect, but it never seemed to be romantic. In the last episode, Hoshi admitted Trip was cute and she might have found him as suitable partner, but she probably let it pass after observing Trip chasing after T'Pol.

In other words, I think T'Pol needs to take her fair share of the blame for the bond dissolving especially with her "friendship" with Archer which was obviously portrayed in the show and in this story. Her relationship with Archer was far stronger than what was ever shown on the show between Trip and Hoshi. Without more evidence of a strong relationship with romantic overtones between Hoshi and Trip, it just seems hard to imagine Trip harboring feelings for Hoshi and vice-versa. At least, not enough for T'Pol to draw the conclusion Trip was really in love with someone else.

I am enjoying this story though and am looking forward to how they will work together and love each other as friends and lovers.
LoyaulteMeLie chapter 6 . 7/3
Well, lots of developments here. I'm slightly surprised that two tactical officers weren't better able to conceal their illicit date from the ship's worst gossips, but I have the feeling Malcolm is.a bit proud of breaking out of the mould. I wonder if there will be a bit of an inquisition into that solo expedition when he sees the bruises, though...
