Trevor the toad was on a mission. He had been spying on his pet Neville and his friend Harry. Harry had mentioned a mission that his pet's headmaster had given Harry. The mission sounded dark and dangerous for the young pet of the winged one so it was his job to gather the masters and save their pets from the evil one.
Hoping into the meeting area where the toads, owls, cats, rats, spiders, nifflers and snakes would gather to meet he told them about the dangers to their pets. The meeting would last for hours but by the time it was finished, the master's were on their way to find these dark items that kept the evil one alive. Scattered to the four winds of the country, led by the most prominent ones they searched.
The snakes and spiders were the first to find their target. A locket inside the pet's friends godfathers home. It was brought back to the school.
The second to be found was the crown in the lost room of things. The cats found that one and brought it to the group.
The Owls were next to strike as they found the snake and killed it. They fed well on the remains, upsetting the evil one who tried to kill all the owls feasting on the body but they flew away with it.
Then it was the rats, nifflers and toads that struck, deep under the halls of the money keepers by traveling through small air vents built by the money keepers... They tracked the stench of the evil one to an evil lady's cave where it was guarded by a fire monster. With quick strikes of their tongues they killed the and then battered down the walls to the cave. The rats and nifflers moved in and started carting off all the shiny things in the cave while Trevor and his friends swiped the evil cup they found.
Trevor hopped up onto the largest rat that was the size of a bulldog, used his tongue to grab the cup and gave the retreat order. With a croak to his fellow toads who followed suit by jumping on their own mounts the hoard of rats, nifflers and toad rode up the cart shafts that were funneling the goblins towards the break in. With guard in front of them they rode, and the sound of music started playing in the tunnels. If the goblins had known what music it was they would run in fear as the toads croaked out 'Ride of the Valkyrie's'. With tongues lashing out the toads laid out any goblin that stepped forth to do battle and soon they broke into the lobby of the vault masters and headed for the guarded doors. Trevor rode towards the doors of the money lenders, to his right Col. Brutus Toad rode, a cigar clamped in his mouth as he croaked out, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning!" The doors were shattered by the tongues of the advancing toads and they rode out into Diagon Alley. Once in the alley the winged ones came to the rescue by grabbing the toads, rats and nifflers, carrying them away. Behind them they left confusion in their wake.
With all the evil things brought back to the castle they were gathered in a sack and the winged one with the pet who had the dangerous mission took the sack to the melting spot in one of the lodgings of the pets where rock was turned into metal. The bag was dropped into the hot metal and quickly melted scaring the pets who worked there with screams came from the metal and the pets that worked there thought one of their numbers had fallen in but a count of all the pets showed it wasn't true.
The days of the evil one were short as he felt great weakness when his evil items were destroyed. A warm summer evening found the masters outside the blond pet's lodging of the great horned owl. The owl led them into the fortress of the evil one and they struck during a dinner. Before any of them knew what was going on hundreds of the masters had bound into the room. The evil ones struck back and some of the masters were laid low but they struck just as hard. Evil one after evil one went down under the multiple attacks until just the blond pets were left and then they too were gone. As the evil one's spirit left his fake body spirit started screaming as it felt all its anchors were destroyed except one which had so little of his soul that it couldn't hold the spirit on this plane of existence and it blew apart. The lodging was ransacked by the nifflers and rats and the treasure taken away to be added to the trunk for the young master who had lost most of everything.
Trevor the Toad and Hedwig were pleased. Now they just needed to find mates for their pets and they were looking at several fine specimens that went by the name of Padma, Daphne, Susan, Hannah, Tracy, Sue Li, but they determined the loud one's daughter wasn't fit and the book lover wasn't either as she was to bossy. They planned on working on their pets when they gathered for the New Year.
