Totally calling it now - Rachel Jessica Akman and Annika Hansen are one and the same. That's why Picard was never able to find her again, and that's why she doesn't show up in the story until much later.

Goddammit. When last chapter said that there would be a wrap-up of the Picard storyline from last chapter, I expected a sudden Rachel Jessie Akman appearance at Admiral Paris's Christmas get-together! Now I'm both furious, and exceptionally depressed!

Oh thank god! Thank the glorious One Above All! I had feared that Tasha and Kirk were going to wind up in a compromising situation here, what with all of the understanding that was happening in this chapter!

so i've reread this story and have also read the prequel to this story Big Doors and also watched the series and i don't remember when Data thought he had killed Geordi as mentioned in this chapter

So, I can't help but be curious. There's a couple of plot points that you made in this and in Big Doors that I noticed you've left open-ended and haven't exactly closed up yet, and was wondering if you were going to. The first one, Chapter 38 - Burdens of Command in Big Doors, was leaving Ensign Sito alive, and the second, in this, to do with General Makar and Sela after Sela found out that Makar had actually WANTED them to escape. I was curious if you intended to leave those open-ended, to readers' imaginations, or if you had plans for those in the future. Or even if you'd completely spaced on them, as I know how long you've been working on these and it makes that entirely possible.
