Ah, the sword. Whenever I am playing some kind of role playing game, whether it was a video game, or pen and paper, I would almost always gravitate towards a sword based character. The main exception being if I went the pure mage route. Something about it just makes it more appealing to me compared to other weapons.

It makes sense after being captured so easily, the girls would want to brush up on self defence so they are more prepared in the future. I agree that Revolta wouldn’t have bothered kidnapping the girls to use as servants if they couldn’t at the very least match up to the strength of their parents.

I never gave it much thought before, but I wonder how much power one could store per lightning strike. I imagine if a google hard enough I could get data to make a rough estimate. It certainly fits Elsa to create such a device for the school consider she was able to make a portable charger that absorbs lightning strike in the movie. All that changes is the destination of the power, some kind of battery versus, her father.

I didn’t think much about it during the movie watching itself, but Ms. Grimwood didn’t have much of a role to play in the second half of the movie. Even if everything worked out well, I can’t imagine her not taking any precaution after what happened.

How thoughtful of Sibella to prepare gifts for her classmates. Phanty’s gift is particularly thoughtful, since she would have great trouble trying to make something like that herself. It is kinda adorable seeing Winnie step outside her comfort zone to help the Coach. But Sibella is right, just because she is best person available to help Shaggy learn about being a werewolf, it doesn’t mean the other can’t help her prepare the lessons she plans for Shaggy.

When you find yourself in such a strange situation, activities that are so familiar to you that they become routine can be a great way to take your mind off the stress. Looks like next chapter Shaggy is going to receive his first werewolf lesson. Let’s see what Sibella and Winnie have put together.

Insert spooky training montage music here for the opening part with the girls. Not sure what song would work. Maybe This is Halloween from Nightmare before Christmas. Probably a good idea for Winnie to talk about being a werewolf to Shaggy sooner than later. Don’t want a situation where Werewolf instincts take over.

I see those five Calloway cadets still have nothing better to do than spy on the girls when the Colonel isn’t looking. I suppose they are guys going through puberty, but I still reserve the right to roll my eyes at their behaviour. At least Baxter seems to have his head on straight not believing victory is guaranteed.

Interesting that Anubis seemed to have taken an interest in Scooby Doo for some reason. It is too early to draw any conclusions from this.

Well Sibella is a vampire, it makes sense that her meal plan includes some blood. The sign from Winnie is what draws my attention. Was the ‘that was close’ message just about how Shaggy felt about Sibella needing blood, or is there some other secret to those cans beyond what Shaggy was told?

Revolta’s revival plan continues unhindered. Well, until someone figures out something is happening at Revolta’s old lair, she will see no resistance until someone finds out something.

And I am back. Watched Ghoul School as well. For some reason I had Colonel Calloway with a more muscular build in my head. I felt a bit bad for him in the movie since it seems fate decreed him to be on the receiving end of all the physical comedy whenever he was on screen. I see, still not telling is what Shaggy’s idea is. Just going to keep that carrot dangling for a while longer.

I retract my previous statement. An obstacle course. I can see the Colonel being interested in that idea. It would fit it with the cadet training and even in the movie the cadets had that hike through the bog to get used to moving through less than ideal terrain.

Ha, Winnie was to first to figure what Shaggy was thinking with the boy’s intentions. Probably best not to derail the discussion to talk about puberty.

And in the shadows, the sinister plot unfolds. So the wand survived the brew bath. With the Grin Creeper back up and moving, things could start to get complicated. Although, on his own he is not much of a threat. Revolt a is the one to be watching out for, not that our heroes know what is going on.

The Boo brother. Of the three Scooby, Scrappy, and Shaggy supernatural adventure movies, that is one I remember the least. Looking at a synopsis, the Scroggins siblings were quite the pair of characters. Probably the biggest threat to Shaggy in that movie. Sounds like Norman has some information about what happened to Shaggy. Curious to learn more about that.

The first two I can see, but Shaggy’s last comment feels a bit of a stretch compared to the others. Personally those sort of comment reactions went over my head most of the time, even when I was the one saying. The girls laughing reminds me of a story one of my high school teachers told us. He sometimes gives students mini quizzes or tests. He referred to the mini quizzes as quizies. When he asked what the test equivalent would be, one of the girls blurted out testies and broke out into giggles afterward. Insert grown man imitating a teenage girl’s giggles here.

It has been 5 years, so Shaggy can’t rely on what he remembers of the girl’s abilities. A basic test run to get a feel for everyone is a good start. I feel a bit bad for Tanis, her lagging behind the other seems to be getting to her a bit. Another flash of werewolf instinct kicking in. Nothing came of it, but Shaggy needs some help dealing with this sooner than later.

Oh boy, male teenage hormones. I have gained some new respect for the Colonel for Have to deal with that as part of teaching the cadet. The neighbouring all girls school not helping things.

Winnie is the best monster here to help Shaggy deal with the changes that come with being a werewolf. With how far away Winnie sensed Shaggy’s presence, I shouldn’t be surprised she noticed his episode that morning. I was thinking Miss Grimwood was late for lunch due to Shaggy talking to her about what he experienced that morning. Instead we have Shaggy getting the ball rolling with his new contest idea. No idea what it is yet.

Huh, did Phanty volunteer to bring in Elsa or just choice to do so on her own without saying anything. Silly thing wonder about, but it just stuck with me for some reason. The picture in my head when Shaggy was having trouble breathing was Phanty with her arms going through Shaggy’s neck.

Same height as Shaggy. He is not short so that is quite the growth spurt. It is quite impressive, that Elsa was the one to bring all those technical changes to the school. The wail being the only this to wake up Tanis raises questions for me. What was the old method of waking her up and how long would she keep sleeping without some sort of wake up call? Sleeping for days was mentioned before, but did that take into account being woken up by Phanty?

Of course Sibella had to make a dramatic entrance by waiting for her name to be called. Boy did things almost escalate quickly when Winnie showed up. Shaggy got his first taste of Werewolf instincts kicking in. Thankfully they didn’t push him into doing something he would regret.

Well, the villain of this story has just made their first ‘appearance’. I don’t remember the witch very well, so a bit of the impact might be lost on me.

Sees note about romance at the end. As soon as Shaggy took his old teaching job I knew that would be nothing romantic happening within the school walls. Although, I suppose any romance questions would have happened before it was confirmed that Shaggy was teaching again. Putting age aside, the teacher student dynamic would make any romance a bit creepy, I suppose it would be a bit different if he wasn’t teaching again, but it would still be awkward with the current student ages. Funny thing about point 3. This is the first Scooby Doo fanfic I have taken a look at. After taking a look at the main Scooby Doo story page, a couple stories had been updated. The first two stories both involving the Ghoul School and from the way the titles and descriptions read, do involve romance. I just found it funny those stories ended upon front and center right after reading this.

Enough getting sidetracked, time to talk about this chapter. I suppose thinking about it, finding someone to take on a gym teacher role for monsters girls would not be easy. Teaching gym class is probably not what many supernatural creatures consider a fun job and Miss Grimwood already listed the challenge of finding a human teacher.

Shipping yourself to school, I suppose that first class shipping would be cheaper than first class travel. Not to mention you don’t have to worry keeping yourself occupied during the trip. Seems like a win win to me. Magical coffin travel. That does seem like a convenient way to travel between locations you stay at often. I feel like there is some kind of ghost zone joke to I can make with how Phanty travelled to school.

Gym class probably isn’t the worst class to plan on the fly. As long as you are keeping in mind the capabilities of the students and their progress, you can probably think of decent classes to have fairly quickly. Of course actually planning out the lesson for the term is better.

So on a complete whim I decided that today I am feeling nostalgic for Scooby Doo and decided to see kind of fan fiction has been written based on it. I see your story title and immediately think, I remember that one Scooby Doo movie where Shaggy turned into a werewolf and raced against Dracula and other movie monsters.

So a story that meshes some of the supernatural Scooby Doo movies together. I don’t remember ghoul school as well reluctant werewolf. I also don’t think I watched the 13 ghosts, though the name sounds familiar.

You have my curiosity. I want to see where this idea of yours go. It we be interesting to see how Shaggy handles his transformation in this story where he has friends he can turn to for insight, as opposed to being kidnapped and forced into a race. I got a good chuckle at you describing the plot of Reluctant Werewolf as Dracula having a mid-unlife crisis.

So great to see you posting again, even in these hard times. This chapter, like all the rest, is incredibly well written and it’s clear your passion and love for your story is showing through every line I read! Can’t wait to see the next installment, and keep up the amazing work!

I love this story. It’s so well crafted, equal part lore that aren’t truly necessary to the plot but don’t get in the way and emotional growth for the main characters. You are very talented and seem to do quite a bit of research into the history of the story, both the real world history and fictional history of scooby-doo and seem to weave it all together into a cohesive and interesting story. Love it and looking forward to see what else you do, both in this story and after.
