![]() Author has written 2 stories for Vandread, and Harry Potter. DarkBlade the Damned. A name taken from two of my favorite fantasy characters. The demon possessed Dark Elf, Malus DarkBlade created by Dan Abnett and David Gemmells Character Skilgannon the Damned, the unstoppable swordsman who wields the swords of Night and Day. To all my readers first I would like to apologise for the 3 year hiatus between my last updates. Sadly updates to my stories and are likely to remain sporadic in the future as the real life stresses or work and family impact on my free time and creativity. But if you are patient and stay with me I promise to follow my stories through to the end. A little about myself: Im a chartered accountant who now works as a Project Accountant for an Engineering firm. Why do I write fanfiction. Same reason I read so much fiction. It keeps me sane. Some of my favourite authors and the works that have inspired me: Anything by David Gemmell, sadly deceased now. One of the greats of Heroic Fantasy. Able to write characters who were able to achieve amazing things while being abundantly human both in their strengths and their flaws. Dan Abnett, Author for the Black Library most notably the Gaunts Ghost novels and the Chronicles of Malus DarkBlade. Which I truly recommend for anyone who wants to read a story featuring a true Anti-Hero. They dont come much better, or worse than Malus. Matthew Stover for his acts of Caine series. Caine would be the greatest Antihero I ever read about, except he has shown that he is not completely immoral, cruel treaturous and self serving. Unlike Malus DarkBlade. C.J. Cherryh for her unique writing style. The only author I know that can write a 300 page novel detailing the events that span a handfull of days, make a series of them and captivative me completely. Probably not for everyone though. Steven Erikson, for his Malazan book of the fallen which is a melting pot of cultures, races and gods. The incomparable Terry Pratchett. Nothing needs to be said. George R R Martin. His Song of Ice and Ice series would be one of the best Fantasy series I have ever read, if he ever finishes it. |
