I'm feeling some sense of disbelief, in that given the divergence in mentality between Harry here and how he is depicted in cannon, that he has ended up selecting the same electives as those in cannon.

this is freaking amazing! i love that you have described all the characters very well - there is no bashing, and you capture ron hermione & harry amazingly. you can see their personalities- harry has a vicious streak, hermione has an adventurous one, and ron is very very vengeful & protective. i wonder what will happen next what with durmstum and how the students are going to react to having a half-blood and muggleborn in their midst. I can't help but wonder who the other person is, i assume someone is slytherin. also, i love the name of the chapters, i see what you did there.

Bullshit

I like this story's insight into Ron more than possibly any other. The idea that Ron views Harry as pretending and lying and all that about his being special and all that just puts a whole different spin to canon Ron's jealousy about Harry. Ron doesn't comprehend that Harry sees himself as nothing special, as -just Harry- because he can't believe any sentient intelligent being could come to that conclusion. Examples given were brilliantall the things that we as readers chalk to "protagonist syndrome" have no such easy explanation in-story. The troll, the dragon, the Unicorns and riding a centaur, on and on. That shit just doesn't happen to anyone else! The closest it does is Ron and Hermione having it happen to them through proximity. Harry is fundamentally special. There can be no accurate unbiased disagreement for that, really. So Ron, especially a young childish Ron, could very easily see that as Harry lying and playing it off and pretending. "Oh come off it, Harry" as Ron says about the Goblet of Fire stuff. He is so used to Harry lying about being special and whatnot that he just assumes Harry is lying about entering too.

It isn't ever explicitly mentioned, but there is evidence of some sort of magical learning aid in the canon books.
Barty Crouch Sr. is known to be fluent in, what, 117 languages? No way that's naturally learnt. Whether it's implanted knowledge, memory enhancement, or any number of things, there has to be something they can do even canonically.

So does Harry still have the sword? It has never made sense to me to give it to Dumbledore.

*grumbles* It's been nearly six years since an update. I hope that you are going to write more as this has been an absolutely enthralling fic! I realize there is a LOT that you would need to flesh out... but you could also just do the tournament parts perhaps and maybe have Harry and Hermione (perhaps the Bulgarian as well, though his name escapes me at the moment) discussing the trials. Then have them end up at home after all of the shenanigans.
