I agree with you, never understood why there is sooo much dislike for hinata, I like her too, she's a LITTLE mousey, but that's kinda par for the course with these types of series.. I really do though get really sick of all the kidnappings she's in, it gets very boring, very quickly. It's one of the main reasons I STOPPED watching Inuyasha, that whole "kagome has been kidnapped" was getting a bit nauseating.
Hinata is the same way, leave her the heck alone. Getting naruto into a trap or making go in for a fight is as simple as "hey kid fight me"! And wham it's on. I mean come on, NONE of these people are particularly "the sharpest knives in the drawer".

Yes there are a LOT of speeches at this point in the series, everybody has just SOOO many "sob stories"... Seriously they all need a LOT of therapy and a LOT of medication! I frankly got to the point where I just said "boo hoo, POOR CRY BABY" and fast forward past them.
