I'm a book and RPG junkie who's in his 40s and lives in the Southeastern United States. I started with basic D&D in 1978, so yes, that means I have characters old enough to legally drink. =) While I still hold a warm place in my heart for Gary Gygax's creation, I think Shadowrun offered me the most flexibility as far as game mechanics goes. Started reading Harry Potter around the time the Prisoner of Azkaban came out, and my wife and I have been hooked ever since. Other favorites include David & Leigh Eddings, Christopher Stasheff, and Robert Heinlein.

Harry Potter and the Nightmares of Futures Past is an idea that started bugging me after reading Half-Blood Prince. Harry finally tricks Voldemort and destroys him, but the cost is far, far too high. He makes a desperate attempt to go back and "do it right this time" - even if it means returning Voldemort to life. Now a traumatized and war-weary 30 year old Harry Potter is trapped in the body of an 11 year old, about to begin attending Hogwarts. Can he make it right this time, or will he be thwarted by fate? Plotline picks up after HBP. Canon pairings, H/G, R/H, N/L.

The Blackwand Chronicles is an attempt to weave an original story within the confines of JKR's canon... (I'm trying to take this as a serious exercise in writing discipline, so if you see me violate something from Canon, please drop me a review and let me know.) Her characters will make appearances, but the focus will mostly lie on a group of first year students who start two years after Harry and Crew (tm). Amazingly enough, they seem to have even worse luck than the Gryffindors. I flatter myself to think that I'm taking this story in a direction that I haven't seen done yet, but I could be wrong. (Due to reader response this is on Hiatus in favor of other projects.)

Various issues have decreased the amount of time I could spend on fanfiction. That recently changed, along with my employment status. I should be posting new chapters every two weeks or so, and I'm going to go back to work on my original stuff. Of course, that means I also need to find a new way to pay bills.
