Author has written 6 stories for Naruto, Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, and Teen Titans. Hello, necro-wulf here. I just submitted my first fanfiction and thought I should give you some basic info for those of you bored enough to check me out. Sex: male Age: 19 State: Conneticut Favorite Pairings: Naru/Saku (can't beat an underdog) Naru/Hina (a bit overused, but highly versitile) Naru/Harem (he needs the lovin' that bad) Kim/Ron (it takes a real man to allow the girl to do the fighting) Beastboy/Raven Fanfic Pet Peeves: (I read alot of Naruto fanfics and have to rant) Wooden characters- give them some depth, dammit! Uninspired dialog- a catch phrase is not a crutch. Sakura or Sasuke bashing- If your doing this, go back to the source and actually look at them. They are not just walking insults directed at Naruto. They are complex characters with acual motivations. You do a diservice to them, The Naruto universe,Masashi Kishimoto, and your readers. If you don't like them, fine. I have no issue with the opinion. But dislike them from what is there, not whatever misconception you may have of them. Time trave fics- Just because Naruto has a demon does not mean at the point of death he gets a mulligan. And why the hell would it reset to a relatively uneventfull day from the demon's perspective? And even if he went back neither would he be any stronger nor would events proceed the same way. He would still have a malnurished prepubescent body, and his awarness of the previos timeline would affect his early actions, leading to wider and highly unperdictable changes to the course of events. Naruto gets attacked by villagers openings- Its a cop out. You decided not to come up with an actual original beginning to your story and just went with what's easiest. There is no evidence anywhere in the original material that Naruto was ever physically abused by an adult. Even a drunk. Especially on October 10th. That would have been a pretty crucial stipulation on the Hokage's law. I will grant that he caught it pretty bad from kids, and was probably forcefully removed from the proximity of several children by parents. Just dig a little deeper. Psychological problems and dreams of vengence don't always need an assult to get them going. Stories that crap out before the timeskip- If you're not willing to give us closure to the story then at least tell us in an 'I Quit' entry. You probably shouldn't have even started if you were only going to recycle a series of events with minor changes, then leave us hanging when it gets tough to keep up with your ideas. Stories that give Naruto a bloodline- He dosn't need it. By giving him a bloodline you weaken him as a character. Standing strong without help he is undefeatable and trancendant. With a bloodline he is trite, arrogant, and uninspired. Stories in which Naruto is given power- The same as the above. What, were you not listening to anything Rock Lee has ever said? Stories that give Naruto a family- This one only applies if they don't bother to change the storyline. I believe the little bugger deserves all the love he can get. I just don't think he would react the same way to the world around him, nor would it react to him in the same way. Being an orphen gave him strength and self-reliance. A family could give him security and wisdom. Recognise he would not be the same if this were true. Favorite Story Concepts: Crossovers- A bit more creative than most fanfiction. When down well, they fuse the individual sources so that they belong to neither. Done badly, they are awkward, unholy bastardized abominations reminicent of the hybrid from Alien resurection. Alternate Universes- Also highly creative. I especially like seeing characters in positions where the basic assumtions of their foundations are rocked. Scifi Naruto is awsome at this. Naru/Harem- I love Naruto as a character and these fics are great for two things. 1) Getting him laid. 2) Allowing hiliartiy to ensue. The only problems are they spend too much effort establishing the relationships to do much else, or make him seen freakishly attractive to the opposite sex.
