this story is awesome and i love it,
will there be more chapter and if there is that twould be great, i am a new fan of this story.
i love to read about vader and luke together and piett how reaction to how vader is not his homicidal self and his suprising humour.
that bit about his mother that almost made me cry good job writing that.
i wonder how vader will be with all his granchildren and a 2 year old,
i feel it would be a epic moment.

Lol, poor Piett, but he’s falling in love with these crazy Skywalkers and Solos despite himself. And it’s so great he finally got to contact his own family too! Hello! I’m so very very excited for the next installment of ‘Keeping up with the Skywalkers’ by Firmus Piett (the one where we hopefully get to see Vader try to deal with 4 children with Skywalker genes in their system) oh maybe also R2 taking Darth Grandpa to town but that’s only if you so desire my dear author. I hope you and your loved ones are doing ok with all this coronavirus stuff going around and until then, may the force be with you and your (I would imagine) nimbly typing fingers

Oh God, that was so good! I haven't read anything SW in quite a while, but now I came across your fic and I couldn't put it down until I finished all of it. I adore how everything is from Piett's view, his dynamic with Vader, and-probably my favourite part-Vader's grandchildren's fascination with him. Now I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see them meeting him for the first time. If Anakin was impressed by Piett's abilities, I can't wait to see how impressed he'll be with his mechanical genius of a grandpa. I also gotta say how good you are at writing humour! Their bickering is great-and by 'their' I mean all of them, all of the characters. Looking forward to reading more!

Leaving a review this way because won't let me review a chapter I've already reviewed. Because the thought that someone might reread and have more comments to add is not something that crossed their minds, I guess?

Anyway, I finished my reread at exactly midnight and man did I run the gamut of emotions during it. I'd forgotten how absolutely HEARTBREAKING that moment last chapter when Vader instinctively reacted to the holorecording of Shmi was. Honestly, how dare you hurt us like that? I don't even know if bringing up Padme would hurt as much; Shmi, I think, as a mother who raised Anakin to be the good, kind kid that he was despite the world they lived, was the first person who really saw him and believed in him, and that counts for something special, even beyond his love for Padme. And then, even though I knew exactly how this chapter would end, their sheer joy at the long-awaited homecoming still brought me to tears. How you manage to go from Piett's dry observations to all of the deeply emotional moments like those, or the moment with Leia in the memorial hall, so smoothly without losing any sense of characterization is something I will never understand but always admire.

(Also, it's been a while since I poked through your Future Attractions but Worth a Thousand Words caught my eye today and I'm already bracing myself for the emotions that it will inevitably bring to the surface.)

Absolutely worth every moment of that reread. I feel like I probably say this every time but thank you so much for sharing your stories with us!

You know, for a fic in the humour category, I've cried quite a few times... But also laughed a lot, of course! Oh, poor Piett, but I do so love to watch him, as the title says, meet the Skywalkers. All the Skywalkers. The only thing left is probably to be in the same room with all of them at the same time, but I'm not sure the galaxy would survive that. Or at least Piett's nerves.
Oh and do we count Artoo among Skywalkers? 'Cause it kinda seemed so and I'd totally agree, but it would also mean there's one more droid left to meet :D
And of course, not just Piett, but also Vader's interactions with everyone were gold. Ah, interesting character interactions, the most important thing I look for in fics and this one has it in spades and it's so so good!
Vader's sense of humour... it sure is making a comeback. Well, a non-violent type of it, at least. He also went through quite a roller coater of emotions. The message from his mum oh damn. Ha and when Piett openly defied him, that was so satisfying, I was so happy for Piett! I mean, if this... friendship... is to turn into a friendship where I don't have to write the three dots around the word, some disagreements have to happen. And the whole thing with Vader almost dying because he wanted to hear without any intereference was also a pretty huge step - well, the things after, the talk they had. That was so good.
Oh and Piett watching that short recording of Anakin, I wish he could see more, but even this was probably pretty informative. When Anakin turned into Vader, he changed a lot, but also didn't change all that much, pretty much :D
What a shame this fic will end soon, but I suppose all the meetings are almost over - and Piett truly does deserve some rest after everything. :P
