The final two chapters were heart wrenching with all the angst and tension and character development present, enough that it even dampened the cute romantic moment at the end which is one of the main points of reading pairing fanfictions for me, romance. It was well done, there is no contesting that, just extremely emotionally heavy and taxing to read. It was also disappointing that Ben gave up karate, it is perhaps understandable but none the less disappointing, for it was a divergence from canon and something that both Gwen and Ben shared a passion in which was very enjoyable. I hope that Ben will retake up karate in the years between little moments and breaking point, though as I understand the rule of drama that sort of event would be too valuable to just leave it as off screen development so the most I can hope for is that Ben takes up karate once more in breaking point.

Such a wonderful story. It's not perfect. Some parts are a little too long, too drawn out, too uninteresting. Some POVs are a drag to get through. But those minor flaws and gripes pale in comparison to just how incredible these characters are. Ben, Gwen, and Max are written so perfectly. I love Ben and Gwen's parents and their POVs are some of my favorites. I remember stumbling upon the original Little Moments years ago, never imagining that the story would be reimagined and continued. I figured it was dead and abandoned, and what we had was all we had. But this reboot did such a great job taking what made the classic so good and just expanding on it. I want to thank Shadows and Erico and anyone else involved in this for creating such a fantastic story. I can't wait for what's next.

Question: What happened to the hoverboard Tetrax gave Ben at the end of Secret of the Omnitrix? Granted Ben rarely ever uses it so I understand if you decided to omit it from your story.

I find this a little hard to enjoy, Gwen comes across like a mary-sue in this story.

One thing I find interesting in this Chapter is that you take it upon yourself to add context to the scene in the very first episode of the original series where Ben enters the Rustbucket and is horrified to find Gwen already there. Gwen says “This wasn’t my idea. Somebody convinced my mom that going camping for the summer would be a ‘good experience for me” *sulks*. It appears that in your version the identity of that ‘somebody’ was the school counselor and that Gwen was actually lying to Ben about not wanting to be there when in fact even without the Omnitrix and the adventures Gwen would still have been jealous of Ben for spending time with Grandpa and visiting places she’s only read about. Seems legit. Although in your chapter only have Natalie’s perspective and we don’t know how Gwen actually felt about being with Ben for the whole summer.

Interesting to compare your reinterpretation with that of Gojaimas, who also explores this scene in Chapter 37 of ‘I Wanted What I Saw That Day’ (which he admits to being inspired by your original ‘Little Moments’). In his retelling of the same scene Gwen’s perspective is revealed as part of his effort to establish Gwen’s history with Ben and how she tried to reconcile with him after falling out as children. In his version, going on the trip was entirely Gwen’s idea, she convinced her mom to let her go, but her mom took credit for the idea anyway and Gwen used her mother’s lie as cover when Ben showed no signs of rapprochement.

In either case Gwen is lying in the first episode, either wholly or partially. Interesting that both you and Gojaimas come to that conclusion but for different narrative reasons.

What a beautiful, beautiful story. I am very thankful I came in in the tail end of this fic so I didn't have to wait forever for the end.

I am forever impressed by the jump of quality from the original to this reboot. I don't say this lightly but it's a damn shame that you don't write in several of my favorite fandoms. You and Erico excel in writing stories that feature character exploration and growth. As always, thank you for the hard work you've put in on making this story amazing and I look forward to the sequel. Vet few stories have satisfied my craving for romance like this one.

Hey, thanks to both you and Erico for the chapter, and the story. Despite my criticism on the last chapter, which I still stand behind (I just haven't gotten the chance to reply with a more in-depth reason behind why I said what I said), I will say that this was a strong finish. Well done.

I haven't said this yet, but Max's reaction to Ben and Gwen's relashionship, from his initial snap (needing Vera to stop him), to now, has been spot on, in my opinion.

I look forward to the next reboot, whenever that starts to be released.

I am honestly impressed with how much time and effort you must have put into this thing, and I'll miss reading it every week until Breaking Point is ready. I love the tie in with Bezel's Story, for those of you who haven't read it DO IT NOW, I love how Ben and Gwen matured more and more as time went on.
I love how they came to realize that like their parents, Grandpa Max is flawed and broken too.
And I especially love how, even with all they've been through; they still plan on going through with all of what comes next.
