MM chapter 32 . 5/15/2019
I like new responsible Snotlout :-)
Guest chapter 27 . 5/3/2019
That was a great chapter! Who knew Stoick had it in him to be so patient.
Can't wait to see how Hiccup will react.
L'assassin orange chapter 34 . 4/12/2019
I really wonder.. Hiccup truly wants, or rather needs, to try talking to the Gatherer. And it has been shown to be at least smarter, more patient and a slightly less volatile. So would anything actually come from a talk? Or would it just put Hiccup, and presumably the others, in mortal danger for no gain?
L'assassin orange chapter 33 . 4/12/2019
Two ideas, one for each part of their plans. One we do not know, but it seems to be a Hiccup idea gone wild, while the other will require wounded dragons and likely put them at a rather big risks.
Honestly? Still better than seeing the absolute void of plan that they had before. A bad idea is only bad if it doesn't work after all!
L'assassin orange chapter 32 . 4/12/2019
I really hoped that the master hunter would join them. It would have been a huge boon in both abilities and moral, but it seems it was not meant to be, with the loaded past between Dragons and Vikings.
We still got to see a small but important part of the village learn the truth, and Stoic make his first try to bond with a dragon, so net plus still all in all!
Though I hope this misunderstanding between Hiccup, Toothless and Stoic on the matter of dragon's leadership won't cause any trouble.
L'assassin orange chapter 30 . 4/12/2019
Damn. I liked Jaspin, with all his exuberance and his love for dragons. Neither of them deserved to go like this.
And Kettlecrack convincing himself that he is doing nothing wrong is becoming stale, and really make us understand the other villagers disdain for him. I really hope for him to see just how horrible he has been when it's HIS time do die, hopefully a traitor's death, though if he tries to redeem himself at the end it would still be better than nothing.
This Red Death is trying to get Intel on his enemies, and that is NOT good news when you need to outsmart your ennemy to defeat him.
L'assassin orange chapter 26 . 4/12/2019
Iceblood indeed. This is going to go terribly wrong... A viking with a bloated ego and not nearly enough brain, trying to tame a Gatherer. And this one seems smarter than the old one.
I too fear what they will have to pay to get rid of the threat this time.
L'assassin orange chapter 24 . 4/12/2019
A second Red Death. So that was why the Gronkle tried to flee, why the dragons went back to raiding, why they disappeared.. Damn. How many of them are there all in all? Because Hiccup can I'll afford to loose a limb each times he has to fight against one, and if this one is smarter than the first one, it could be big trouble.
I'm pretty sure that we haven't see the last of Kettlecrack and Grimjaws, but I'll be damned if I know how they get out of this alive.
L'assassin orange chapter 23 . 4/12/2019
So you took the logical conclusion of the twins having the same kind of build as Hiccup, took the very common feelings of a twin feeling confined by this one term that has defined them all their life, and the opportunity that a travel to new pasture would bring. Still, completely understand both sides of the family here: he is not happy here, and while it may pass, it could follow him his entire life But all those he will be leaving behind...
L'assassin orange chapter 21 . 4/12/2019
Colore me impressed. You kept your Stoic in character, with all his sense of awkwardness and disconnection, and still made him actually listen to his son. That was masterfully done.
And now they are three. Will they manage to find a way to break it to the village without sparking up a new war? I certainly hope so!
L'assassin orange chapter 18 . 4/11/2019
It's always a bit depressing to see Berk regress, step by step. Good to see that Hiccup at least has the inkling that something is not right for a food fight over a stolen sheep, and it's heartwarming to see their close bond, even through the eyes of those outside it, struggling to understand it.
I can only sympathise with Stoic, who is starting to see too many parallels between his wife who he is still very much grieving for, and his dragon's son. It's amazing to see that it's actually visible for all that their relationship is far different from one between owner and pet, and some like Fishleg have that little inkling that something isn't quite right, but still so many take the dragons being dumb beasts for granted that they inevitably get angry, vexed or confused whenever a strange situation arises.
L'assassin orange chapter 17 . 4/11/2019
With all the foreboding you made in regard to Kettlecrack, it's sad that something that should have been heart warming, as Grimjaws actions were, made me feel like we could have just stopped a disaster in its tracks.
Poor Grimajaws just went a bond like our favourite Night Fury has. Sadly, I'm afraid just how much he's ready to do to get that bond.
And it's oddly heartening to see Snotlout being an actually good trainer, with a receptive student who respect him even if he doesn't like him.
All in all, great chapter, even if I'm always left a bit antsy to get back to my favourite duo. Still, you manage to put Life into these characters, which I can only enjoy.
L'assassin orange chapter 16 . 4/11/2019
It's in those small details that you see the amount of care that went into this story. Because yes, anyone trying to translate a language without being able to double check will make this kind of translation, favouring words with some connotation appropriate to their own culture.
I love the progression of their relationship. From the revelation, to Two Hearts feelings of care translated into dragon culture, from Hiccup guilt in spite of his dragon forgiveness, to letting goor ar least trying) because of all the good it brought.
There is still one major hurdle to overcome, that being Toothless role as a Watcher and his quest to find his Dame, and countless minor ones, but I keep hope that all will be well on the end, in spite of the name of the story.
Thank you once again got this story, because it is truly a treat to read.
(P.S: Thank you very much for your kind words! I truly intent to enjoy every chapter to come as well !
L'assassin orange chapter 9 . 4/10/2019
Well that isn't ominous at all.
L'assassin orange chapter 8 . 4/10/2019
It's fascinating to see for first time from the eyes of Dragons. Amazing, incredible... and so very sad. Becauss Berk is slowly regressing, and if nothing is done that could be catastrophic. Hope it goes better than this, and that time really help rather than breed resentment.
As an inside, it's hilarious to see you write how it was expected to be 8 to 10 chapters long, but will likely be double that, when it clocks out at 45 chapters nowadays.
