  Guest chapter 6 . 8/8 You mentioned in chapter 15 of ‘My Hero is My Dad?’ that canon seems to have forgotten about ‘never turning off OFA’, but I think you just misinterpreted what Izuku meant. Before that, he only used his quirk for smashes, treating OFA like a special move, etc. After learning full cowling he keeps it up for the full fight, continuously. Think of it like a button. Instead of pressing the button for a singular attack or move, he holds it down until he doesn’t need it anymore. And there’s the added bonus of using it across his whole body. Whether keeping it up 24/7 is a valid way of building up strength is unknown. It’s not completely unreasonable though, especially with the Forest Training Camp arc building up the limits of quirks in similar ways. Still, I think doing it all day in day to day activities would be pretty inconvenient: the lightning, strain and wind generated* would be nuisances. *At 5% it wasn’t enough to weaponise against people, but it’s still there. For example, lim the Sports Festival he ‘sliced the air’ to take out Shoto’s fire in the cavalry battle. |
