Reviews for Past and Present Situations
LilyTimbers chapter 14 . 8/2
Damn, you sure are blessing us with the quick updates. I didn't find it rambly at all. Morelli is such a bastard, I love to hate him. I especially appreciate how you've set him up as a non-powered antagonist. Actually, I wonder if he does have powers, but he's just keeping them under the radar. Regardless, his scumbaggy-ness as a politician is totally believable (and scarily realistic?).

Then, you delivered with the BBRae interaction. It was the perfect mix of sexy and fluffy. Thank you for writing so I can also participate in "the feels". Great work as usual!
Guest chapter 14 . 7/29
Hey

Just read the latest chapter. I think that the tension is certainly building (as is evident by Raven's reactions here).

I get the impression that the mayor is testing, if not them all, especially Raven. He seems to be taking great pains to poke and prod at her to see what will make her bite back. Seeing just how far he can push till she refuses to take anymore. He seems to know exactly the subjects to bring up and focus on. Somehow I get the feeling the relationship he was talking about wasn't necessarily Robin and Starfire, or at least not only. Almost as if he has a way of seeing behind closed doors in a sense.

It's nice to see Raven finally accepting the concept, if not the fullness, of the fact that she has the right to have some part of the world for her own. To do what she would like to, rather than what is expected. In a way, it's as Robin put it, to be a Titan because you want to not because you need to. Duty is one thing, but you always put more into a project/thing/relationship you truly want to be involved in.

Gar is a bit thrown off here, as is quite understandable considering the situation between him and Raven previously, but he seems to understand, on some level, what is going through her mind, even if it is not his ideal way of going about things.

Another great chapter. I can't wait to see what happens next time.

Wolvmbm chapter 14 . 7/28
Fantastic update to the storyline. I enjoy this evolution of romance between Raven and Garfield and how it currently taken shape. Keep up your fantastic work on this wonderful story.
Kid Walker chapter 9 . 7/28
When "happiness" told Raven that she only had one thing to lose in the previous chapter, I thought "virginity", but I dismissed it as possibly referring to a love affair or something like that. I never thought I'd be right and find out so soon hahaha.

I wondered when they would be interrupted by an emergence or something like that, at least it happened in the end, although it would have been better if it didn't. Gar is absolutely right to be upset, anyone would be, in fact.

Gar's initial reaction to Raven's proposal was to take into account the reactions she has had to such simple things as holding hands or casual touching. In fact, I thought he was going to tell her to make her understand why he was so incredulous about what was going on. The good thing is that the boy was able to deal with it all in the end and guide her through it despite his own nervousness.

Great chapter, but I have to get back to work. As soon as I have some free time I'll try to read the rest of the chapters. See ya.
Kid Walker chapter 8 . 7/28
Hahahahaha. God, that last one was too funny. I couldn't help but burst out laughing when Raven said "I think we should have sex."

For God's sake, "If that's how it rains, please don't make a go away."

This chapter was too cool and fun to read. I'll move on to the next one now that I have a chance to do it, because when I have to go back to work in a few hours, I won't be able to read anymore until tomorrow I think.
Kid Walker chapter 7 . 7/27
Okay, this chapter was like a roller coaster of emotions for Gar and Raven. Both of them were upset after the outcome of their training. Then the scene in the corridor was too tempting and suggestive for Gar, no wonder he got carried away and Raven reacted as she expected.

I liked Robin and Starfire's participation in this chapter, they both played the support role for Raven, but who helps Gar? He also had to deal with everything that happened on his own. Robin indirectly tried to help him, but that kind of help is not the kind that takes effect immediately, but it is the kind that is long-term.

Anyway, it was a great chapter. I'll be waiting for the next chapter. See ya.
LilyTimbers chapter 13 . 7/25
The plot thickens even more! I think this was a necessary “slow down” of the action. It was interesting to see the aftermath of the elevator play out that way. Raven’s entire mentality on romanticism is so on point! I really enjoyed that particular scene between her and Star. You portrayed her feelings of loneliness so eloquently. I’m looking forward to the next chapter!

Also, I re-watched the entire series a couple months ago. There are definitely some filler episodes that could have been edited out, but in my opinion, the show totally holds up to my childhood experience.
Kid Walker chapter 6 . 7/24
Well, after all that emotional conflict over what was happening to her with Gar, the fact that seeing that dead man affected her quite a bit, even the way she made the analogy between the criminal and her denotes the way she is aware that the way she always isolates herself from everything and everyone is counterproductive and will gradually cut off the few connections she has generated so far.

I didn't expect Gar to speak to her so soon, but I understand that he did and what better way to do it than with that comment very much in line with his style. What will happen now with this new discovery on her part, will it change or remain the same as before? I guess I'll find out as the story progresses.
Kid Walker chapter 5 . 7/24
Well, it's usual that the experiences we have throughout our lives modify our perspective on certain things, whether it's about relationships or something else, and personally, I think it's something that will always nurture our writing styles whether the experience we had was good or bad, and I say this from experience. I started writing at 13 then from one of the worst times in my life and since then my writing style has been constantly evolving, shaping up with every good or bad experience I've had and that has resulted in my current writing style.

So it's all good, I read the chapter and I liked the way it went, especially because Gar finally lost patience with it, which is normal. When she said "You're a child" it was great and I could tell that she was already tired of this constant tug-of-war that Raven had with him because she is still not able to accept or even fully assimilate even what she feels for Gar.

Now with the change of seasons and with the change in Gar's attitude towards her, Raven realizes that she misses having him always around as before.

It remains to be seen how she will cope with this change and how long Gar will be angry with her.
Kid Walker chapter 4 . 7/23
I really get a big laugh out of Raven trying to play hard to get.

That moment in the library he gave Gar all the information he needed, now he's going to attack haha.
Kid Walker chapter 3 . 7/22
She knows she wants to, she's just playing hard to get and faking dementia.

This fic is getting more and more interesting. I'm totally hooked on the story, you write great and it's very easy to imagine what happens as you describe it. Excellent work.
Kid Walker chapter 2 . 7/22
We all have bad days, and this time it's Gar's turn. I think there's a lot more background to what he said to Raven when he finally blew up. The frustration he felt was palpable and everything he felt was building up until Raven's rejection was the last straw for Gar's patience.

This outburst on Gar's part makes many things clear, especially the reason or the main cause of his frustration and consequently of his anger.

This chapter reminded me of one of the phrases in the book "The Wise Man Fear" (2nd book of the Chronicle of the Kings' Killer, by Patrick Rothfuss) which says the following:

"There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man."

Here Gar, embodied for Raven the last part of this sentence.
Kid Walker chapter 1 . 7/21
Wow, that was an interesting first chapter. I laughed at Raven's change of perspective and how confused she is because of Gar.

The scene of them on the couch was great, especially because he knew how to play Raven without her being able to do anything about it... although, it's not like she wanted him to stop.

I like your writing style. I'll keep reading.
Guest chapter 13 . 7/20
Oh no! Cyborg burning bacon, not once but twice! *horror movie soundtrack plays in the background* A definite sign of the evils of the world. Sorry, just a funny moment in my head there.

Clearly Raven true to form is not a fan of Valentine's day or it's associations. Oh well, enjoy the free chocolate anyway :D

I love the way Robin does that. He just appears out of thin air at the most random moments, much to the embarrassment of the others, just like here.

I always found the whole empath thing to be a double edged sword in this way. Yes, you can tell what others feel, but is it really what they feel? Not an easy dilemma when the empath in question has issues with self-trust as well as trust in certain aspects of others.

Methinks the run of good luck in the Mayor's past is rather suspicious, Robin clearly thinks so too.

And again I am sorry to find a serious point funny, but I just had to giggle at the thought of super heroes with time cards.

Another fantastic chapter and I can't wait for the next one. Happy writing!
