Fandom Thoughts

Harry Potter

This will always be my favorite series as it created a huge world you can worldbuild in and of course it has magic.

Harry- I like Harry and I thought he was a very selfless character who I think the fifth book tried to ruin. After that it's like everyone tried to say he had a terrible temper his whole life. When the only time we see this is after a traumatic event where instead of getting help he was placed with abusers and told to 'behave' by everyone. Like everything was his fault. I'm disappointed that he wasn't made more academically curious as I would have enjoyed more 'magic' in the series. But he is a favorite of mine.

Ron- I have conflicting thoughts. I liked him until the fourth book when he treated Harry like crap, never actually apologized, and didn't warn Harry about the Dragons. Same time my heart goes out to a guy who has always been treated like second best whether to his friends or family. Fifth and sixth year I started to like him again only for him to ruin it during the Hunt. His behavior before the fight and during it ticked me off and I think Harry's loneliness as an abused child made him forgive a little to quickly. But I love loyal Ron fics.

Hermione- I didn't like her in the beginning as I felt she was rude with how she eavesdropped on conversations and spoke like she was the only smart person and that therefore others should do what she says caused she is superior. She became better in the first and second book but she set my teeth on edge with the broom incident. Because to me she acted like she was the only one capable of understanding Sirius could curse a broom. I think she should have brought her concerns with Harry and they could have together come up with solutions. I don't like her treating him like an inept child she had to manage. I But she for the most part was a great character but I disliked how she acted about the potions book. To be frank, I found nothing wrong with harry learning from the potions book. Everyone can learn about potions outside of the standard text and that is what research is. He basically found great notes and used them but if he was truly inept with potions then he still would have failed. To me she was very petty that year. All in all she is a good character I just wish that when adults in fics get onto Harry and Ron for getting into trouble they would do so to Hermione instead treating her like she is perfect.

Twilight

I find that Bella/Edward are slightly unhealthy but I think all relationships have problems and that they both have enough respect for each other to do well. I hate Jacob, to me he was a manipulative emotionally abusive shit and nothing disgusts me more than Charlie laughing about Jacob forcing a sexual advance on Bella and treating her like she was overly hysterical. But I genuinely enjoyed the series .

Naruto

This is my second favorite series. It had a lot of worldbuilding opportunities. the only part I didn't like is I felt that the timeskip didn't allow Naruto to mature and get strong like the others. Sakura went from a weak abusive fangirl to a powerful mature if still abusive woman. (I can't stand how she hits Naruto over the slightest thing). Sasuke is still a jackass but he became OP. Kakashi seemed to grow stronger and more determined, but Naruto kinda stayed the same. I was also disappointed that Naruto comes from a sealing clan and has a seal master as a father but he himself doesn't really learn anything about it over the timeskip especially since his teacher is also a seal master.

Tales of Abyss

I love the tales of games, but I feel this one gets a bad name due to the main character. I believe everyone just labels Luke as a selfish prick who doesn't act right until he murders thousands and even then tries to shirk blame. To me that is a very lazy analysis.

Luke-

- He is only 7 years old and much of his behavior matches his age especially since no one knew he was a replica and worked with him like they would have with Ion.

- Everyone wanted him to 'remember' that to me it seems they were less interested in teaching him then jarring a memory. Given his age and imprisonment it was actually the responsibility of his parents and those around him to teach him and it is not his fault he is ignorant. If he wasn't imprisoned for years it would be more of his responsibility to know how to buy things, but he has never been to market or even conversed with others before.

-So I think it is unfair how everyone acts like he is so selfcentered for not knowing common information. He is also disliked for speaking disrespectfully to others, but I want to remind everyone of one of the first scenes in the game. Luke speaks kindly to Piere and Guy and the Head butler reprimands him for speaking to lesser people. Need I remind everyone that Luke is imprisoned and if he can't talk to 'lesser' people than he can only speak to his parents and Natalie when she bothers to visit. Given how his father treats him like crap as he plans his death essentially and his mother is confined due to sickness. Think about how much human interaction he is probably allowed.

-Alkzeruith... I honestly don't think Luke is at fault. Others act like he should have known he was a replica and should have know he was being manipulated (Jade). Others act like he should have listened to Asch's warning eventhough Asch spent more time insulting him then informing him and for all they knew Asch was an enemy so honestly the idea is a bit stupid.(Natalie & Asch). Others think he should have know not to trust Van who has spent years gaining his trust and no one has bothered to give a reason not to as the others in the group keep the info to themselves and then judge Luke for not acting on info they kept from him. Tear never bothered to inform anyone of Van's crimes and hoarded the info out of pride and then acts like everyone is stupid to question her ill thought out assassination attempt. Jade and Anise share none of their concerns. So if you were told by a cop that was a family friend that you needed to press a button that would knock out power in a building cause terrorists are there. You see the terrorists and he is in a authority position and you know him so you would most likely push the button. Is it really your fault that the button set off an explosion that killed all the hostages or is it the cop who lied and manipulated you. I mean Ion knows he can'y let anyone in the Sephiroth areas but he does anyway and he knows more about the sephiroth than about anyone and he didn't try to stop Luke when Van ordered him to destroy a branch so that miasma would go away. If not even Ion realized what would go wrong how can anyone expect Luke to know. Personally I think the group used him as a holder for all their own guilt so they didn't have to feel it. Also I'm disgusted that Natalie blackmailed her way on the team hearing Van manipulate Luke and then acts like Luke should had known not to trust Van when she found nothing really wrong with what she heard.

Challenges

Harry Potter

Harry Goes to Egypt: Harry wants to get away from the Dursleys so he goes to the Child Welfare office at the Ministry. During the trial it is found out that Dumbledore didn't tell Harry about his duties as a Lord. Harry gets emancipated and moves to Egypt and either falls in love with Bill or is his mate. During the summers Harry goes with Bill on any expedition that he is asked to.( So have some Indiana Jones moments in the .) How does Harry handle a boyfriend, a new school, politics, Dumbles, and Voldie.

Please have Harry have a talent for an odd course like: Rituals, Summoning, Ancient Runes, ect. If you go the mate path you may add another man to the pairing.

The Great Hall Reads The Wrong Who Lived: Basically the Goblet is used because it can make a book about the Champions lives so far. Everyone is eager to hear about Harry's but not for the reasons you expect. Why did Harry get chosen and not his brother the BWL? Basically you write or get permission to write someone else's WBWL fic and have the characters of the fic read it. HARRY IS THE REAL WHO LIVED.

Harry was severly neglected but not physically abused. Bonus points if you have the Potter household pretty much forget he exists.

Must have a scene were Harry is kidnapped and eventually escapes only to find out that his parents didn't even realize he was gone.

Ron is loyal and understands how it is to be forgotten though his parents truly love him they just get caught up by the others.

Both Ron and Harry are smart and powerful. Hermione is up to you. Harry's brother is spoiled and weak magically. Sirius and Remus are up to you. You can redeem one Potter Parent if you wish. Dumbledore is good and becomes either a grandfather figure or mentor figure to Harry.

Hunger Games

Gale, Katniss, and Peeta Read the Books: Basically they read the books or just Hunger Games after Peeta and Katniss have just got home from the Capital. They fall in love with eachother.

They Read a Fanfic: Katniss, Haymitch, Gale, Prim, Peeta, and whoever else you want read a fanfic or the books with changes made to the books. Must be before the reaping. Changes from Canon that need to be made are: Katniss gets in trouble with Peacekeepers for hunting and is either their servent when they ask or has to sell her body to them in favor of being allowed to hunt to feed her family. Noone knows until the books are read. You can pair Katniss with anyone but bonus points if it is with Haymitch or an odd pairing. Please no FemSlash.

Katniss, Trained?: It was Haymitch and not Peeta that saved her. He took her home and fed her. She then popped in and cleaned his house up and provided company. Eventually he started teaching her how she could survive the Hunger Games when he fears her chances of being called. The Pairing must be Haymitch/Katniss.

Naruto

Missing nin: When Jiraiya tweaked with the seal he caused it were Naruto would have an episode every two years were some of Kyuubi's Chakra would escape him causing a shockwave. They made an area were Naruto would go that Naruto could do this safely, but to do it safely for Naruto it requires someone to help him. Jiraiya is dead and Naruto needs someone to help him but everyone he tries to ask blows him off before he can speak. Naruto goes to do it alone and Sasuke senses his chakra and helps. Naruto angry at how no one cared to help him and that he had almost died if not for Sasuke; joins Sasuke as a missing nin.

Orichmaru is dead or Sasuke has defected. At first Naruto's friends don't know why he is so angry with them. Pairing must be Sasuke/Naruto

Month of Training: When Kakashi denies to train him; Naruto accepts Ebisu's help and in the end Iruka and Jiraiya help. They find out that Naruto education was sabotaged and that Kakashi hasn't been doing his job. PLEASE MAKE THIS SLASH. Bonus if you don't bash Kakashi. You can give him a reason for why he ignored Naruto.

NCIS:

Consequences of Contempt:This was a challenge I made for a site that no longer exists. Basically when Gibbs is in Mexico Ziva and Tim treat Tony badly. It gets to the point were Tony get kidnapped by a serial killer their after because Tim and Ziva weren't there when they were supposed to. Gibbs is called back.
