See chapter one for disclaimer. Happy ending.

Harry woke up the next morning having not slept well the night before. He couldn't get Neville's words out of his mind. What if the other boy did hate the amusement park? He grimaced as he remembered their first flying lesson. Neville was not a fan of heights and Harry was pretty sure, well hoping really, that the roller coasters would be tall.

Neville's fear wouldn't be a problem if it was just the two of them. He'd be disappointed not to go on the rides but surely there would be other things they could do, games and such. And he could always go back another time and do everything else.

But they weren't going alone. The whole trip was Dean's idea in the first place. Harry didn't want to let the other boy down but didn't feel comfortable making Neville wait on them for every coaster either. And even if they all rode there was only three so who sat with who? He had a horrible feeling that he had made a mistake and the trip wouldn't be fun for any of them.

He groaned and buried his head under the pillow. What he really needed was someone to go with them, someone who could even out their group and would feel comfortable riding with Dean or staying with Neville.

Contacting Ron was not an option even if he wanted too and the rest of his friends were girls. And something told him this was a boys only trip. Katie wouldn't be too bad, he mused. She was on the quidditch team and wasn't as girly as say Hannah or Susan.

He knew he was reaching but decided to ask her anyway. He was pretty sure she wouldn't mind sitting with Neville though he'd probably have to take her back on a later date. Not that returning to the amusement park would be a hardship.

Plan in mind he jumped out of bed and into a quick shower. Grabbing the essentials he headed downstairs knowing she worked on Fridays. In short order he found her in the dining room clearing off a table.

"Hey Harry, what can I get for you today?" she asked cheerfully.

"Nothing thanks. But um, a couple of us are going to Thorpe Park tomorrow and I wanted to know if you wanted to come?" He asked nervously.

He let out a little sigh of relief when her eyes lit up before her words dashed his hopes. "My brother loves that place. He'd kill me if I went without him. Doesn't matter anyway though. We're going out of town tomorrow."

He groaned and put his head into his hands. "What do I do?" He begged, explaining the situation to her.

She chewed on her lip thoughtfully as she wiped down a table to keep her boss happy. "I don't think you're giving Neville enough credit. Of course he doesn't give himself any credit either. I think he'll be fine but you are still uneven and one of them is always going to feel left out." She thought for a minute. "What about Seamus? You guys can have a Gryffindor boys thing or something."

Harry made a face. "He can't go, he's grounded."

"Well have you tried talking to his mum," she offered. "It's easy for them to say no when the plans are just being talked about and are in some far off future. It's a lot harder when it's the next day and you hear exactly what he's going to be missing out on."

"You really think I should try?" He asked incredulously.

"Yes," she answered firmly. "It's not going to hurt anything and if you make it seem like a bonding experience for all the dorm mates or even educational she can't say no. And you can always use your fame a bit. You're Harry Potter. It's okay to use that occasionally."

Harry rolled his eyes at her before narrowing them in concentration. "But how do I even talk to her? I'm pretty sure Seamus is from Ireland. Letters won't be fast enough," he pointed out in disappointment.

She snorted out a laugh. "Go talk to my mum. She'll show you how to make a floo call."

Giving her a large smile he raced off, throwing thanks over his shoulder. Half an hour later he was kneeling uncomfortably in front of the fireplace and sticking only his head through the green flames.

"Mrs Finnegan?" He called, squinting his eyes to see through the ash.

"That'll be me then, who's asking?" A stern faced woman asked as she wiped her hands on a large apron.

"Harry Potter ma'am. I live in the dorm with your son Seamus."

"Come on through son," a bear of a man with lively eyes called out. "After all these years it's still unnatural to me to talk to a head in the fire."

Harry looked confused for a moment before ducking out of the floo. A quick conversation with Mrs. Bell had him flooing straight to the Finnigan farm where he landed with a bang to his kneecaps. Seamus father laughed and lifted him up into a chair.

Mrs. Finnigan had her hand on her hips. "So what's this about then? Seamus be doing his penance and has no time for chit chat with friends."

"I actually need to talk to you ma'am," he gulped nervously. "See I heard about Seamus' punishment and was hoping you'd left him off for tomorrow."

"No," she said firmly without elaborating

"Wait, please just hear me out. I wouldn't ask unless it was really important. We're trying to put together a Gryffindor boys bonding thing. Especially after the stressful year we had," he stumbled through the explanation, trying to remember Katie's advice.

She made an angry sound as she went back to peeling potatoes. "It's preposterous that they kept the school open after the first student that was petrified."

Harry nodded sharply, sensing a chink in her armour. "It was a horrible time. We shouldn't have to feel afraid in our own dorms. But we were and we couldn't rely on each other so much because we really didn't know each other enough to trust. So Seamus came up with the idea that we meet up during the summer and spend time together so next year we'll be able to stand united against the threat."

"Nice speech," Mrs Finnigan comment dryly though she continued to eye him sternly. "If I say yes, and that's a big if, how'll he get there?"

"Well he could floo to my place. If fact he should come tonight since we're leaving so early. And I had hoped to invite everyone to stay over Saturday night and get everyone home Sunday morning. He could floo again or my driver could drive him," he quickly offered.

"I don't know, he's only 2 weeks into his punishment," she pointed out.

"Ah lass, give the lad a break," her husband prompted from the other side of the table. "He's been working hard since he came home and he'll work hard when he gets back. He's a boy, let him have some fun."

She gave him a short glare. "As opposed to all the fun he had at school blowing things up?"

Harry winced. "To be honest he doesn't go around blowing things up on purpose. It just happens. He has a talent there."

"There's that smooth tongue again Mister Potter."

Harry smiled to himself at the softening of her tone and he quickly pressed his advantage, widening his eyes and giving her his best pleading expression. "So he can come?"

"Aye he can go," she smiled when Harry whooped. "He's out in the back field if you want to go tell him."

Harry ran through the fields, breathing hard when he finally spotted his roommate. "Seamus," he yelled, waving his arms like a mad man in his excitement.

The sandy haired Gryffindor stood up in surprise, his mouth drooping open at the sight. "Harry? What the hell are you doing here?"

"Having a bit of a holiday, taking in the sights," the dark haired teen tried for casual despite his panting breaths. "Oh I also wanted to talk to you about Thorpe Park. I know you were supposed to go with Dean…."

"Don't sweat it Harry," Seamus interrupted. "You don't have to ask my permission to go with my best friend," he told him though he looked unhappy. "Dean already called and told me all about it."

"Thanks for that but we kind of turned it into a Gryffindor party and I kinda told your mum that it was your idea and that you had to come," Harry told him with a broad grin.

Seamus let the hoe drop as he turned to face the other boy fully. "You're not telling me…"

Harry nodded excitedly as he bounced in the dirt. "She said you can come."

Seamus' expression was one of disbelief. "You're shirting me," he exclaimed as he looked back towards the house.

"Nope," Harry announced, popping the p. "You, me, Dean and Neville are all going to Thrope's tomorrow, and you're staying with me tonight in London."

With a large yell Seamus began doing a wild dance in the field. "This is going to be incredible," he screamed. "Have you seen the rides? The Swarm is supposed to be the most incredible coaster ever and thanks to you I get to ride it!" Grabbing Harry he pounded him roughly on the back before jumping up and down again.

Harry burst out laughing as a clump of dirt burst into flame. "So are you ready to leave?" He asked eagerly, stomping out the miniature fire. "We could order pizza and watch a movie or go play mini golf, that's a lot of fun."

Seamus nodded excitedly before looking at the half plowed field. "She'll be a lot happier if I finish this first," he reasoned, feeling charitable towards his mother. "Maybe I can meet you at the Leaky Cauldron later? I could floo there."

Harry waved him off. "I'll help. I'm used to doing manual labor. Then we can both floo to where I'm staying."

The sandy haired boy looked at him askance. "You're sure? It feels a bit like detention with Snape."

Harry laughed. "I'm used to that too," he joked. "Bet I can finish before you."

The next morning Harry and Seamus were up early and enjoying a large breakfast when Neville arrived.

"Hey mate," Seamus greeted jovially around a mouthful of bacon. "Ready for some fun?"

"I guess," the round faced boy replied nervously. "I took a calming potion so I won't, you know, fall apart on you."

"Why would you want to do that?" Seamus asked in shock. "It's going to be brilliant."

"But what if….."

"You don't have to do anything you don't want to," Harry told him firmly. "And if you really don't like it Stan can drive you back at any time. Did you eat breakfast?"

"I was too nervous," the other boy admitted, sitting down gratefully when Harry pushed the platter of food towards him.

Before they knew it they were pulling up in front of Dean's house. The dark skinned teen was bolting out of the house before they could climb out of the car.

"Bye mum. See you tomorrow," he called as he climbed into the car. He blinked at seeing the three grinning faces in front of him. "Seamus! Neville!" He turned to gape at Harry.

The youngest of the group shrugged. "I figured the more the merrier." There was a slight question in his voice as he watched the other boy for disapproval.

"He convinced my mam to let me go. Can you believe it?" Seamus crowed.

"Brilliant, this is brilliant.," Dean agreed. "Harry, you're the best." He exclaimed, slapping his back before pulling out a brochure of the theme part and explaining the rides to his three eager companions.

An hour later the excitement in the car hit the ceiling as they pulled into the the parking lot. Stan pulled up to the entrance before turning around to face them.

"Now listen up you four. I think you're old enough to go off on your own and I have no desire to follow a bunch of over hyper kids around." He smirked when Dean let out an excited gasp. "But I want you to stick together and be nice to on another. I'll be out here working so you can come get me for any reason."

The four boys nodded solemnly, almost bouncing in anticipation.

"One more thing then you can go," Stan was grinning as he held out 4 passes, chuckling when Dean's eyes got comically wide.

"Are those…."

The driver nodded. "Lewis heard about your trip and didn't want you to waste most of your day standing in lines."

"What are they?" Harry asked, frowning in confusion.

"Express passes," the dark skinned boy explained, his voice quivering in excitement. "We can get on any ride almost immediately, no matter how long a line there is."

Stan made a mental note to tell his friend how happy Harry had looked has he shooed them out of the car and through the gates.

"Where to first?" Seamus demanded, his eyes locked onto the tall form of the newest coaster.

"Maybe we should try something light, get into the swing of things first," Dean suggested with a sideways glance at Neville.

The round faced boy turned red. "You guys don't have to hold back on my account," he mumbled.

"I've never been on anything like this before either," Harry reminded his friend. He pointed to a bright orange train that was flying along a thin steel rail in tight circles but low to the ground. "That one looks fun."

Dean agreed and the foursome was soon seated. Seamus grumbled slightly at being on a kiddie ride but was soon laughing when the train banked sharply, throwing him into his best friend.

"That was great," Harry chirped as they climbed off.

"It was," Dean agreed, having ridden it before with his brothers. "Always a favorite."

"It wasn't scary," Neville breathed out in wonder. He was looking back at the ride with a look of excitement.

"Swarm is pretty much the same thing only a little bigger," Dean told him earnestly.

"Just a little bigger," Seamus mocked. Dean gave him a playful shove.

"You don't have to ride it Nev," Harry reminded him.

The round faced boy looked at the sign for the coaster they approached with worried eyes before squaring his shoulders. "It's about aliens attacking right? Like that movie we watched. Aliens are brilliant." he determinedly did not look up at the metal rail that soared above them.

Harry gave him an unsure look. "Don't let me force you into anything."

"I want to," Neville said firmly, hurrying to catch up with the other boys. Harry followed, intending to talk to the other boy some more. But the closer he got to the loading platform the more excited he got. He was practically vibrating as they claimed their seats, the winged format of the coaster meaning he and Neville were on one side with Dean and Seamus on the other.

"Last chance Nev," He cautioned, eyeing the pale and sweaty boy next to him.

"Shut up Potter," he sniped back with the bare semblance of a grin. "I'm here to try new things right?"

"Don't worry Nev," Dean called over. "It doesn't last more than two minutes."

"And it has a safety harness," Seamus added. "Better than a broom."

"Seamus," Harry and Dean groaned, though oddly enough Neville seemed more at ease after his words.

At that moment the ride went into motion. Harry gripped his restraint tightly, his heart thudding in anticipation as they began the assent.

"I hate this part," Dean yelled over to them, his words almost lost in the loud clanging.

"I never knew you didn't like heights," Neville responded, opening his eyes in surprise. He quickly closed them again.

"I don't mind being in the air so much, its the incline, being titled back like this that I hate," was all he had time for before they were flung downward and upside down for the first of the five inversions. Harry's scream of delight matched Dean's before Seamus' high pitched squeal of terror drowned them out.

A few short minutes later they were climbing off. Harry's grin was so wide it had to hurt. "That was the best thing I've ever done in my entire life," he exclaimed.

"Better than finding out about the magical world?" Dean teased, his own smile matching Harry's.

"Well it didn't try to kill me so yeah," the dark haired teen joked back.

"I don't know, when it came down out of that curve and through the billboard I really thought it was going to take our heads off," Seamus chimed in excitedly. "And when we went all the way down I thought we were going to go splat on the concrete."

Harry nodded excitedly. "The best part was when we first started out when we were going slow and then bam, it's like we just dropped through the air."

"It think my stomach is still up there," Dean agreed loudly. They continued to chatter as they made their way back around towards the entrance of the ride.

Harry suddenly remembered the fourth member of their group. He turned anxiously towards Neville, relieved that he wasn't a quivering ball of tears. "So what'd you think?"

The round faced boy frowned thoughtfully. "It felt a bit like what I think actually riding a broom would be like, only I felt a lot safer with the straps than I would have on the broom, " he added ruefully. "So yeah, it was fun." he finished shocking himself and causing the other three boys to whoop in delight.

"Enough to ride it again?" Seamus asked slyly.

"Yeah," Neville answered, an astonished look on his face. "I think I want to." He looked up. "I can't believe I really rode that."

"Wish I'd brought a camera," Harry complained. "Nobody's going to believe us."

"The ride takes photos at the best part," Dean assured him, steering the group to the photo booth.

They cracked up once they'd found their ride. There was Neville with his chin tucked and eyes screwed tightly shut and Dean who had a large grin but it was Harry and Seamus that had them gasping for breath. The dark haired boy had a look of wild abandon on his face, his fists pumped into the air and his already wild hair standing in every direction. In contrast Seamus had an almost comical look of terror on his face.

"I'm definitely getting that to put up in the dorm," Harry declared.

After the second exhilarating ride they raced to the next big coaster, having an unspoken unanimous decision to hit all the coasters before seeing what else the park had to offer.

"Wow," Dean breathed staring up at the tall structure of The Stealth. "That's a long way up."

"And a long way down, straight down, Neville added, adopting his pasty completion once more.

"At least it doesn't go upside down," Seamus pointed out happily. Being tipped on his head was his least favorite part of the rides.

"You're practically upside down with how steep that incline is," Dean retorted.

"It'll be over before you know it," Harry said, reading the sign. "It's like a rocket, goes super fast." He frowned up at the structure. "Doesn't sound like it lasts long."

Using their express pass they were able to skip the long line and were soon climbing in. Harry was ecstatic that he had the very front row. Neville had refused to be in front, making way for Dean and taking a seat in the middle with Seamus.

In no time at all they were climbing off. Harry and Dean rushed back toward their friends, finding Seamus bent over with his hands on his knees. "Merlin but I can't catch me breath," he wheezed, his irish accent strong. "We went so fast I think it all got sucked out."

"The good thing about going so fast was you couldn't tell you were so high," Dean added tilting his head to look up. "But when we finally did reach the top I thought for a moment we were going to fly right off the track."

"That part was kind of neat, being up there and just kind of hanging there before dropping but the rest of it wasn't all that great," Harry complained before looking at Neville. "What did you think?"

"It was okay. But kind of jarring you know? I think I like the one where we flew through the air better."

"So we're not riding a second time?" Dean clarified.

"No," Seamus announced firmly.

Harry chuckled. "Maybe later. Right now I'm more interested in seeing what that's about," he pointed to the twists of red steal off to their left.

"That's the Nevesis Inferno," Dean stated as the began a fast clip in that direction. "It's wicked cool thought I think I heard that the original Nemesis at Alton Towers is better."

They took a minute to watch the trains fly through the interlocking corkscrews. Seamus's eyes grew large. "That's a lot of twists."

Dean threw him a grin. "That's the best part," he called as he raced Harry to the loading platform.

Neville almost balked when he saw that the seat hung, leaving their legs to dangle. But he gamily climbed on and squeezed his eyes shut. Seamus was still mumbling about the amount of twists as he boarded causing Dean to laugh.

"You're all talk Finnigan. How many times during the planning did you say how you could ride every ride?"

"I'm on the darn thing aren't I?" The Irish teen shouted back. He made a squeaking sound when the cars tooks off. "Well this isn't so bad," he mumbled as they made their way through a dark tunnel. He gave a little laugh as the shooting fire caused Neville to scream. It was short lived as they inclined only to droop into the first loop followed closely by the corkscrews.

Harry was jubilant as they climbed off. "That was pretty good. Not as good as the Swarm but good."

"Swarm was ten times better," Seamus protested. "The seats hanging out over the side were a lot better."

"True, but the way were were hanging on this one and went over the top of the loop, it felt like we were standing on our head," Dean spoke up.

Neville grimaced. "Could have done without that part but I liked when we were twisting around." He took a breath. "Again?" He suggested causing shouts of delight from the other two and a groan from Seamus.

The sandy haired boy's complaints of his stomach had them stopping for a plate of nachos on their way to the Colossus Coaster.

"I'm not sure eating is the best idea," Harry eyed his dorm mate doubtfully as he shoved a chip loaded with cheese into his own mouth.

Dean nodded in agreement. "You sick up on the next ride and I'm going to pretend I don't know you. You can make your own way around," he grumbled around a mouth full of chips.

"Gross," Neville made a face. "What happens if you sick up while we're going upside down?" His words caused the other three boys to laugh but when Seamus' eyes lit up he was met with a resounding no.

Once they had finished the large plate they headed for the coster looming over their heads.

"This one has ten inversions. That's like the last two coasters together." Harry exclaimed, reading the sign.

'At least its a regular train and not hanging like the last one," Seamus pointed out in relief. They climbed in, Harry and Dean once again in front, though the dark skinned boy did glance nervously behind him.

"I swear man, if you sick up…."

They took off before Seamus could respond. They soon forgot about their worries as they went through loop after loop, rolled over and under the walkways and went over a short hill with such speed they almost came out of their seats.

"That was incredible," Dean exclaimed as they climbed off.

Harry was almost dancing in place. "Again, we're doing that again," he demanded. The other three were in agreement, Seamus not even mentioning his stomach in his eagerness to experience the ride once more. He lead the way back to the platform, putting himself in the front row with Dean.

Harry opted to sit in the very back wanting to see if it was a different experience. Afterwards he rushed up to Dean. "It was brilliant. It feels like it goes a lot faster and you kind of feel like you get...I dunno, flung through the air."

They got back in line for a third try after Dean insisted on seeing what it felt like. "We're definitely going to have the ride the others again and sit in the back." Seamus said after the ride. The others quickly made noises of agreement.

"But after we do some of the other stuff first," Harry said eyeing some of the smaller rides in the middle of the park.

"Last one," Dean announced as they headed for the far left side of the park and a coaster named The Saw.

Seamus tilted his head back to look at the tall expanse. "It looks a bit like Stealth with that long incline."

"Yeah, but the drop, it doesn't go straight down, it bows inward. That's going to be wicked." Harry pointed out. "It it looks like it has the twists and stuff like the others."

"It that what we're riding on?" Neville asked with a squeak as they watched the ride vehicle fly past. It consisted of one large square that hung out over the sides of the coaster. Two rows of seats set on top like pieces on a chess board. "It doesn't look very safe," He pointed out, voice quivering. Harry pretended not to see the calming potion the boy was downing.

"I wouldn't have thought the Swarm's seats were all that safe and they ended up being a lot of fun," Dean remembered them though his eyes were wide with apprehension.

Silently they made their way through the queue with its razor wire fences and torture props. The loud, pounding music was frequently interrupted with panicked pleading over the loudspeakers. Huddled together they entered the last hallway where shotguns hanging overhead went off at random. The simulated gun fire had them yelling out in surprise.

"The ride can't be much worse than that can it?" Dean asked in a whisper as they lined up.

"It's going to be brilliant," Harry said, the only one still excited. Though even he gave the seats a wary look as they climbed on.

The ride started out slow, entering a dark warehouse where they were faced with more torture equipment and a freaky looking puppet on a tricycle. They cringed as they passed under two singing pendulum blades before screaming as they suddenly plunged straight down into a pit of spikes. The track spun away in the knick of time. Before they could catch their breath they were shot with stimulated crossbows then rolled into a spray of water as someone began screaming loudly in their ears.

They exited the warehouse and began the incline, racing past multiple large video screens showing a white face with red circles claiming the end is near.

A minute later they were shakily climbing off.

"What the hell?" Seamus exclaimed. "What was with that horrible face and all that bloody machinery?"

Dean shuddered. "It's based off this horror movie. My mum won't let me watch it and after that I don't think I want to."

The rest of the ride was brilliant though," Harry was quick to point out. "The drop was even better than expected."

Seamus snorted. "Getting shredded by those rotating blades was real brilliant."

Harry shrugged. " After that part. And the seats…."

"Were horrible, absolutely horrible." Neville chimed in. He wa pale and shaky. "It felt like we weren't attached to anything and were going to fly off every time we went around one of those curves."

"But that makes it different and scarier," Harry pointed out with a grin. "Are we going again?"

The other two boys groaned while Dean gave him a nod. "Just not right now yeah? Let's do some of the spinning rides next."

That sufficiently distracted Harry and they headed to the next ride. They lined for the tamest of the "flat" rides as Dean said they were called. Named the Rush, it held two boats at the end of giant pendulums that swung back and forth. They all enjoyed it immensely though Harry was disappointed that it didn't swing them upside down.

They went on to Quantum next where they sat in a large boat that lifted into the air before swooping down to the ground to complete a large circle. Neville was grinning as he compared the appearance of the ride to a flying carpet.

Bored Dean and Harry made a beeline for one of the more intense rides. Neville took one look at the ferris looking ride that had individual gondolas that spun separately and declared it was too much for him. Seamus joined him deciding he was too hungry at the moment to ride.

They settled down with ice cream while Dean and Harry were spun on their head and tossed through the air. They tumbled off laughing hysterically and made a beeline for the Samurai, an octopus looking ride that spun even more than the Vortex had.

They were breathless when they joined their friends, settling down with the soda's that were waiting. They talked among themselves as they rested, planning their next moves. Starting to feel the heat of the day it was a unanimous decision to hit the water rides next.

They immediately headed for the tallest of the structures that consisted of a large sixteen person raft plunging down a long drop. "That looks brilliant," Seamus commented as they watched the ride for a few moments.

"They're soaked," Neville pointed out in astonishment as the riders went past. "Is that normal?"

"That's the best part of the ride," Dean said enthusiastically. When they reached the attendant he eagerly asked for the front row. The ride was a success, all four boys screaming loudly on the drop and laughing hysterically when the water washed over they. They immediately a rode a second time ensuring that every inch of them was wet and dripping.

Seamus led the way to the Storm Surge next where they stopped to use the water guns that lined the ride in order to soak the riders. After several minutes to see who had the best airm they filed onto the four person raft, laughing as they twirled downed the slide, yelling encouragement to the shooters that had taken their place.

Tired but happy they choose a suny table for a late lunch and the opportunity to dry out a little as they planned the last of their time in the park. In front of them were hamburgers and chips, a first for both Harry and Neville, more fizzy drinks and even more ice cream.

They outlined their plan of hitting all five coasters again, though Dean agreed reluctantly the Stealth and Seamus had to be talked into riding The Saw again.

"It won't be as scary since you know what's going to happen now," Dean pointed out.

"I'll go on it, if we get there in time," Seamus reminded them. The Saw was on the other end of the park and they planned to visit the gift stores as they went along. They all wanted Swarm shirts while Dean also wanted a Nemesis Inferno shirt and Harry a Colossus one. Ride photos were a must, not only for their dorm but for their families, or in Harry's case his photo album.

Plans made and plates clean they began their race around the park, doing their best to make crazy faces for the pictures.

Two hours later they were headed with the crowd toward the entrance, laden down with bags.

"This has been the best day of my life," Harry declared, a permanent smile etched onto his face.

"Me too," Neville agreed. He'd lost the hunched look he carried around Hogwarts.

Dean's eyes were shining brightly in his dark face. "It was better than I could have ever expected."

Seamus gave them an earnest look. "We need to do this every year yeah? The four of us?"

"Don't get your stupid arse grounded and we can," Dean teased back.

Seamus shrugged, a large grin on his face. "It's no matter. We'll just have Harry come sweet talk my mam again."
