Sooooo ... When's this gon get an update? You uh, you said you weren't gonna take a year, but we've been waiting for two years now. Aaaaaand there hasn't been an update. So, I kinda think i've been pretty patient about this, but, uh, yeah. When's that update comin' sonny-boy? This story is, genuinely, interesting in a way most other fanfiction stories are not. Rita Skeeter perving on Harry is both hilarious and somewhat concerning, mostly due to his age more than hers. Wizards live for a ridiculously long time, so the difference in age isn't really much of a concern so much as his age at the moment is. Eager to see where you take this, assuming the next chapter is posted sometime before I die of old age.

sucks you didn't continue the story, it's well written and a great idea. especially because rita doesn't entirely feel ooc, thanks for putting your idea into words, was enjoyable to read.

This is a very good start to Rita Skeeter becoming a mentor to Harry Potter. Other than a couple of times the author breaks the 4th wall, it reads fairly well.

LOVE MORE PLEASE AND THANK YOU But the growing thing with Rita and Harry is no just no. It wong on so many levels. I do not want to read any sex with how old Rita is and 14, 15 or 16 old. Rita as a mother yes, but lover no. Harry is jail bait for Rita right now until he is 18.

I found this fic, by chance and I love it. It's very interesting, and I would love for it to continue.

I stumbled across this story some time ago, and I had to take the time to process the awesomeness that I had discovered in order to make a decent review.
I love the pacing, and the character interactions. Rita being how she is portrayed? That is, in all honesty, a small potential deviation from how she is portrayed in the canon. It takes little imagining to see her take this route.
Harry's new developmental track will be intriguing. After all, While Rita is a muckraker, at her core she is an Investigative Reporter. For Harry to take some tips and inspiration from such a person would be a natural progression given his experiences at Hogwarts.
As for the last chapter, I do have to wonder. I recall in the movies that Rita was one of the journalists for the Death Eater Trials (I am unsure as to the books), and the trial of the 'Betrayer of the Potters' would have been HUGE news. I'm pretty sure that once her shock fades, Rita would be going over the trial transcripts.
As for Sirius' 'Lack of Trial', a lot of fanfic writers forget that Trial In Absentia was (mostly) legally abolished in Britain in the '50s. Given how behind the times Wizarding Britain is, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that they still have it. That would explai9n why, in canon, Sirius was unable to get a fair hearing; retrials are only held as a result of new evidence. And that's on top of the Minister for Magic being able to send people directly to Azkaban on his own authority, and not even Dumbledore, the most politically powerful person in Britain, can stop him (Chamber of Secrets, Hagrid was sent so that "the ministry can be seen doing something.").
Yeah, Rita is gonna mess some people up. Nobody, but NOBODY messes with her boyto-, err... Meal Tick-, uh... Apprentice! Yeah, that's the word I was looking for!

This is a very unique story. I haven't read a fic with Rita Skeeter as a main character before. It's interesting and kinda odd, to be honest. You have some really cool ideas and I'm looking forward to where you are this story. I want to know whose diary it is (I'd have guessed James, but he wasn't sorted into Slytherin). I also like Harry's getting to know Millicent, Pansy, et al. Thanks for sharing.
