I am glad that you are back and I am looking forward to your next update on this story. You would think that by this time Vance would have figured out that it wasn't Gibbs, David or his golden boy McGee that made MCRT the best team in the agency, it was Tony.
I do hope that Tony remembers how Abby treated him while Gibbs was gone and after his return. Remember that in-training sticker she kept putting on Tony. There is also the fact how Abby loves to tell everyone that Gibbs taught Tony all he knows and conveniently forgets to mention the fact that Tony had been a trained detective before Gibbs recruited him. For someone that always claims she can't lie, she sure loves to spread lies about Gibbs and always downplays what Tony has achieved over the years. Also the fact that Gibbs team didn't become the best in the agency until after Tony had been recruited. Even Kate, Tim and Ziva gave Gibbs credit for what investigative skills they had learned when it was Tony doing all the training, including how to fill out reports. Gibbs always expected you to already know all these things, even if you had never investigated a case in your life.
Gibbs actions after his return from Mexico has all seemed more to do with resentment and jealously over the fact that Tony had managed just fine and kept the closure rate at the same level as it was before he had left. Just as we have all witnessed Gibbs inability to admit he was wrong and instead would switch the blame onto Tony instead of admitting he was wrong. And Gibbs calls himself a marine and a real man. Because he claims that apologies and admitting you were wrong was a sign of weakness. Gibbs refusal to do either of those things has always shown him to be a coward under all his anger and glares.
