Interesting and (well enough written in my opinion) very good story. I like it, I like it a lot! It seems to be meshing the realities quite well, and I can hardly wait (but I will) to see where it all goes. I do know this, when someone who is not the creator of a character, writes about them, it is to have them do something that the creator doesn't want to or didn't think of. I know that I always think of my favorite characters doing things, I have never read of in books or seen them doing in movies. I think it is fantastic that others (here in "FanFiction") are actually writing their stories of what they want them to do in a "What If" world. For those who complain that the characters would not do this or that, forget them. You need to write this first for yourself, and then for the rest of us who do enjoy your take on what just might, could, should, would and probability (if a frog had wings, his ass wouldn't bump the ground nearly so often) can happen. I do know this as well, I am enjoying it and will follow it as long as you will write it. Also, do NOT feel pushed to post, sometimes the words and thoughts just flow and sometimes you have to cogitate for a bit. Just learn to let them grow at their own pace and those of us who appreciate them will be here to read them when they are posted.

I love the idea of Sirius as a headmaster. Many fics he's defacto made a professor at Hogwarts but headmaster is so different. He's so responsible and I like how he described things how Neville would understand.

It is a shame that there was no one at the school who was skilled with plants and could grow crops for food.
It is a shame there were no animals trained to harness to pull plows or someone to control them.
It is a shame that there were no eager creatures willing to plant, care for, and harvest all that food.
It is a shame that those same helpful creatures couldn't keep the castle in good condition and clean.

Too bad the school had to import food from overseas and hire Dwarfs to clean and maintain the castle and thus spent 80% of the schools budget.

Why do you think the school is expensive to run and maintain?
The school is over 1000 years old, it has been paid for a LOOONG time ago.
All cleaning and upkeep is done by the elves.
Students buy their own supplies and their tuition covers their food.
Potions is split between the students and the school with Prof. Sprout's Greenhouses taking care of most of the schools part and tuition covering the rest.
The Greenhouses can sell excess to the apothecaries.
The school is understaffed in at least two positions. Deputy Headmaster and History of Magic. How DO you pay a ghost anyway?

I would say the school is mismanaged.
How much does a Dumbledore with all his titles cost as a Headmaster? Fancy robes are not cheap!
How much does the Board of Governors cost? wouldn't be involved if there was no profit to be made!

Hufflepuff should have had a badger's sett, while Gryffindor should have had a lion's den.

I would have loved to read a bit with Hermione and Harry meeting up again. Would have been fun for Hermione to start her usual rant at Harry and then have him completely turn tables on her and verbally cut her down. Might have had Charley stick up for his wife and have Harry blast him as well. Might have Ron stick his jealousy in as well. Would make for hell of a verbal fight scene. Something to think about.

Both stories we're original, with thought put into them. However, they read like an outline to a longer story. Maybe you can rewrite them putting in more details and dialogue. Such as, how Surius and Harry meet. The reason Harry was scary to sleep in the dorm ect.
