If you pair Harry with anyone, I’d say make it someone on par with him in most ways. Aside from the fact that I’m so sick of Natasha being paired with every freaking male character/male OC just because she’s female, she’s also human and thus fairly fragile and short-lived...if you want to prevent Harry from experiencing heartbreak, Natasha is NOT the way to go because she’ll either die of old age far sooner than Harry or she’ll die in battle because even if she is an excellent fighter, her physiology is human and not as strong as many of the other MCU characters. Anyway, even the actors joked around that they were sick of Natasha being used for romantic plots becuse the writers/directors weren’t sure what to do with a female character other than shack her up with someone in every movie. It’s annoying. Natasha is badass enough on her own. Sorry, end rant.

Anyway, my vote would be for Carol Danvers, personally. She’s long-lived and physically strong so that Harry isn’t likely to lose her to battle or old age, thus negating him going dark. And I dunno why everyone always brings up Carol being arrogant...I mean, hello, she’s one of the most powerful beings in the galaxy; humility would just be false modesty...and the people who always rag on her for being arrogant and focus on her for being a newer character in the MCU, but they never bring up Stephen Strange’s infuriatingly condescending arrogance and he and Carol were both introduced around the same time. It seems obvious to me that people have more of a problem with Carol’s arrogance because she’s a woman...but both she and Dr. Strange can back that arrogance up with skill and power so again, why fake humility? It would just ring false. And she feels responsibility for the entire universe so that’s something else she and Harry have in common. And maybe a relationship with Harry and spending time with Teddy would bring her back down to earth so to speak.

The other options I would say are Thor, Loki, or Valkyrie. I’m not a huge fan of the idea of Thor or Loki just because we know canonically that Harry is straight, but it wouldn’t bother me at all to read it if it’s well written. I’ve read fanfic where it’s believable and works pretty well. Anyway, Thor, Loki, and Valkyrie have all experienced the loss of their friends, family, and entire home world, so that puts them on par with Harry in terms of similar life experience. Actually, since Valkyrie is bi, maybe it could be Harry/Carol/Valkyrie? Unless that would be too distracting in terms of taking away attention from the plot.

I would vote against anyone human/fragile for the reasons stated above, but I’d also recommend against using any X-Men characters...sorry, but it seems like whenever someone attempts to write a fic with so many characters from different source material, the story becomes unwieldy, hard to follow, and a jumbled mess that gets away from the actual plot. There are so many MCU characters already and then there’s Harry and all of his memories of people from his universe that it would just get confusing and possibly incoherent. That’s just my two cents.

As for Nick...poor guy...it’s all going wrong for him. Maybe he could somehow get Clint or Natasha to find him? They sought him out once before and he gave them the time of day...it’s worth a shot! As for the guy Harry saved...I don’t know...you’ve made me think it was someone who was HYDRA in canon because you said Harry drastically changed his fate and originally he was involved in the conflict between SHIELD and HYDRA. I can’t think of anyone that fits who is fairly young right now.

But if you are dead set on pairings, please don't make that slash. I hate reading slash about characters who are not gay as per canon.

I hope you make this a full gen fic. Almost all pairings I have seen in HP/Marvel fics appear forced and cliched and this is a good fic with a very high potential. Just keep working the story and don't focus on pairings.

I was going to say that it was Bucky until I read the part about waking ‘the asset’ so now I’m thinking Tom Riddle or at least his version in this earth. I feel like whoever Harry will end up with that is not afraid and respects him has to either have full knowledge of what the Phoenix is or someone as powerful or at least high up in the charts in terms of power to make it so like they are ‘equals’.

Just please don't make this into slash. I hate when canon straight characters are made OOC gay, it's terrible and usually worsens the story. Anyone here requesting slash please stop, it will ruin the story.

Interesting premise, but im wondering what happened to Jene Grey? Also, it's pretty borderline on including an angst tag.

Interesting story so far and it's a good read. I'd say go with your gut and make it a full Gen fic, honestly most hpmarvel pairings I've read just feel forced. Plus with your Harry being the host for the phoenix force you would just end up having to use every cliché in the book to redefine his partner as an equal.

Please don’t make this a slash fic, I personally have nothing against same sex couples, but I hate when fics change a character into an OOC, sexual identity is extremely important part of someone’s personality, by changing that all his experiences before he left his home universe would have made no sense, he would have been a completely different person going through those situations, is the same as saying another person would act exactly like another under the same circumstances.

Then if that is the case, what about Bruce? I mean given on the shit he's gone through i think he could understand what Harry has gone through, look at the good doctor's past and then look at the things he's faced/suffered, as cliché as it is Bruce and Harry could make a good ship for this fic, just my thoughts on the matter.

No romance please so gen for me. Honestly i find it pointless to add romance as your story looks as is

If you want Harry to have a tragic romance how about Umar the Unrelenting? Basically guaranteed to send him into Dark Phoenix territory.

ok first I will say I love this story. second is I am hoping it doesnt become slash just because I can't bring myself to read slash unless the characters are canonically gay. So after all that I vote for his partner to be phoenix Jean Grey, a Rogue that can touch him, or movie scarlet witch who should be close to his power level.

Please make this fic a Gen. There are such a shortage of good fics that don't bow to peer pressure and just concentrate on a good story without the mostly useless sub plot. For those that want a romance then there are a million other stories to choose from on this site. Go read them please.
