OBITUARY FOR THE LATE MR. COMMON SENSE

Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as: Knowing when to come in out of the rain; why the early bird gets the worm; Life isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.

Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge). His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.

Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children. It declined even further when schools were required to get Parental consent to administer Calpol, sun lotion or a band-aid to a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.

Common Sense finally lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.

He is survived by his 3 stepbrothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is To Blame, and I'm A Victim. Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone. If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

Least Favorite Pairings:

Ron Weasley/Hermione Granger: I just don't see how these two could have ever been together and eventually married. I mean, all Ron has done is belittle Hermione and constantly argues with her. Has he ever apologized for being a git to Hermione in canon? NOPE! So, forgive me when I say that this pairing will never work out. Their personalities are just far too different.

Harry Potter/Ginny Weasley: Just like the Ron/Hermione pairing, I don't see how this was even possible. Ginny had a crush on the BOY WHO LIVED, not Harry Potter, the real person. Plus, the comments that Ginny looks like his mother or even a possible sister is mildly disturbing. I don't see Harry as someone with an Oedipus complex. Wouldn't you be creeped out if you were dating someone who looked remotely close to your mother or your sister?

AU of Reign of Chaos to the beginning of Wrath of the Lich King. Arthas is stopped from taking up Frostmourne and becoming the Lich King's pawn. Instead, he accompanies Jaina to Kalimdor and heeds the warnings of the Prophet Medivh. Pairings: Arthas/Jaina; Thassarian/Sylvanas; Malfurion/Tyrande; Varian/OC. Book 1 of 2. Assassins of Gryffindor (Harry Potter/Assassin's Creed Crossover)

Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are abducted by Abstergo Industries after their third year. Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze are pulled from their time periods and thrust into the HP universe. After rescuing the two Gryffindors, they discover that they have old Assassin lineages, and train the two teens in the arts of the Brotherhood. AU GoF onwards. Pairings: H/Hr, rest to be determined. Harry Potter and the C-Virus (Harry Potter/Resident Evil Crossover)

Fifteen years have passed since Harry Potter and his friends defeated the Dark Lord Voldemort. And now, it seems that everyone can live in peace. However, things change when Harry is abducted by the Umbrella Corporation and used as a test subject. Things worsen as he goes on a personal crusade against his "creators" AU RE 1-6 and AU post-DH. Pairings: Harry/Hermione; Ron/Luna; Leon/Claire; Chis/Jill; Sirius/Helena. Being rewritten, but will not be posted until complete, under the title A New Nightmare.

Black Knight of Hogwarts(Harry Potter/Warcraft Crossover)

During the Department of Mysteries battle, Harry is knocked through the Veil of Death while saving his Godfather Sirius from Bellatrix Lestrange. Nine weeks later, Harry is thrown out of the Veil...only he isn't the same as he was when he went through the first time. Initially Dark!Evil!Death Knight!Harry, then goes to Dark!(Not Evil)Death Knight!Harry. Harry/Hermione/Daphne. Undergoing rewrite, will be reposted upon completion.
