I have caught up with the whole story, and overall, I've really enjoyed it! I think my favorite part of the latest chapters was when Katara just unleashed watery hell on those Fire Nation goons who shot Zuko. Katara is a character I love for her kindness and compassion, but I also love that she has that dark, frightening side as well that is fascinating to see. It's great to see more of this 'Southern Raiders' side of her character.

I wondered about something in Ch.24 when Katara told her the story about what had happened during the storm, but omitted what she had done to defend herself and Zuko. Wouldn't Toph had realized that she was lying?

Still catching up with this story and having a lot of fun while doing so. Your Zuko and Katara are super endearing, and childish and petulant Aang just cracks me up! Great job! :)

Well, I just found a story I'll be catching up with for the next little while. :) I've started writing a little Zutara story myself, which is a post-war tale, but I've since have really come to appreciate these 'retelling but with a twist' kind of tales.

And I had hoped to find a story with this premise. I wasn't a huge fan of the S2 finale twist. I thought the writers had put in enough development into Zuko and that he was ready to make the right choice then and there, but noo, they had to subvert our expectations. As a result, Zuko had nowhere near enough interaction with Team Avatar as their friend and ally in S3, not as much as I would have liked anyway. It seems like your story is going to change that - which is something I really look forward to reading.

I find it kind of funny and cute that Sokka is just following Katara and Zuko around and being a protective big brother.

Nice kettle chapter. Zuko back to business right off the bat makes sense since he is the most business all the time omon the team except for maybe Sokka

I just started reading this and wow do I wish Zuko chose the Avatar’s side. I remember rooting for him to go along with what Iroh said and choose the good side but he didn’t! But things happen for a reason, I guess. I also love how you’re building up Zuko and Katara’s relationship! It’s not too rushed, but not too slow. It’s a perfect pace.
