Reviews for Vengeance, thy name is Aang
Guest chapter 20 . 7/31
So interesting to see Aang as a more hardened, powerful and jaded version of himself. I do wish that he kept his friendship with Sokka and Katara though. And that Sokka had trained with Suki as well - he definitely could have learned more fighting techniques and I think he could have been open to learning from the Kyoshi warriors like in canon. Hopefully he will let go of his misogyny in the future though, and maybe Suki and him can still end up together :)
I wonder what’s going to happen if Katara doesn’t learn how to water bend from Pakku. It was such a stage of growth for her, and for the Northern Water Tribe to realize that women can fight as well as heal. I hope she can eventually learn from Pakku, this will make the future travels with Aang way easier if she can hold her own. And I don’t want every problem to be solved by Aang being more powerful in this story. Power should come from Katara and Sokka and Toph as well.
Aang really needs to become friends with Sokka, Katara and Toph - fighting a war needs allies, not just one person. I hope he realizes this.
Gamma-X chapter 9 . 7/30
..Toph is Oma's reincarnation, isn't she?
Gamma-X chapter 7 . 7/29
You wrote "the Ozai" when it's just "Ozai." Might wanna fix that.
Good chapter, I guess.
Gamma-X chapter 6 . 7/29
Hm, flying is gonna be like how it is in Dragon Ball, huh? Then, what about Zaheer? You need to detach yourself from all earthly attachments in order to fly with Airbending, according to LoK.
ocomhdhain1 chapter 12 . 7/25
au where jet doesn’t find out that zuko and iroh are fire nation and when he runs into the gaang he goes ‘oh by the way this is my new friend lee. we met on the ferry ride over here!’ and the gaang and zuko just like awkwardly stare at each other for a really long time

“This is Aang. The *Avatar*,” Katara says slowly.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you,” Zuko replies carefully.

“Don’t you mean it’s an *honor*?” Sokka retorts.

Zuko strongly considers breaking his cover just to murder Sokka right there.
ocomhdhain1 chapter 9 . 7/25
"Oma is calling to you in this life, she's seeking to reunite with you."

Tzechionz chapter 3 . 7/22
relly good at this point, almost as if im just watching the tv show. I hope u can copy paste all the dteals from the show to this story, would be nice to read it for a change instead of rewatch the show
For reals tho, at least say when the story starts to diverge, or if it ever does. I wont be reading anymore tho, so i say it for those future maybe readers of this story.
Zero Rewind chapter 1 . 7/20
So here's the issue. Your summary states, quite clearly, that the story begins at the air temple.

Yet, here, you are starting from episode 1.

So now the reader will have to slog through same-y canon stuff until the divergence point is reached.

Please let the summary reflect the actual story.
Tony McNucklz chapter 19 . 7/19
Yue behaving like an actual princess that understands that she has responsibilities that she can't expect to live up to if she throws herself at a foreign boy in a fit of childish puppy love is a stroke of mature writing. there's so much about the show i enjoy even all these years later, but there is also a great many things that strike me as clearly being contrived for children. yue being a noble would have consequences to being known as a philanderer. for betraying her betrothed. expecting a feudal system to suddenly behave and view relationships in a way 21st century people look at them is ludicrous, and I'm glad you reflected that here. love is a wonderful thing, but when the responsibility of a feudal systems authority rests on a persons shoulders, practical necessity is necessary.
katara learning healing makes a lot of sense. i know she was a girl power character, but social mores don't flip just because the child of a treacherous lover shows up. even as a kid i had absolutely no comprehension of how katara being the grandchild that proves how humiliated paku was when his betrothed abandoned him to go fuck another man could possibly make him want to teach her and set aside his culture. katara literally proves he was abandoned for another man, and wearing the necklace he put on the woman he loved but crushed his heart. when grangran had to know he would recognize it, she basically flaunted her infidelity in the entire northern tribes face by sending katara back to the north wearing that necklace. i understood that as a kid, and it always bugged me.
it makes more logical sense for katara to learn healing. once aang picks up waterbending to a certain level he will surely be able to advance his own skills while traveling. healing on the other hand requires a teacher to convey the complexitiesof the human body as well as the bending and nonbending treatments. which means this isn'ta skill that can be practicedand advanced without someone knowledgeable in anatomy. which means the group will only have what gets picked up at the north pole to work with. aang picks up the martial practices he needs, katara learns how to heal. they can exchange lessons on the road, but with each of them learning a different skill now, they can accumulate much more of 2 skill trees before teaching each other what is learned. in canon, they both only really learn one skill tree, the martial one, and katara just magically knows anatomy and healing after 1 day because it's a kids show where something like guided professional teaching is unnecessary for something like being a doctor.

MVP12345 chapter 18 . 7/13
Very good writing and a creative plot, so congratulations, and my thanks as a reader. The only thing I personally dislike is how you've treated Vaatu and Raava. ATLA's position on Vaatu and Raava was not so much of good vs evil (like in TLOK), but more as in chaos and order, somewhat like in the yin and yang. There's a bit of black in the white and a little bit of white in the black. Is more of a thing of stability and balance. If Vaatu was distinguished, things would be just as bad as if Raava was distinguished. They need to be in proportion. However, I can see why you would develop Vaatu in this way, but as Aang becomes more spiritual he'll need to balance the good and the bad unless you're looking for more of a Korra approach. Personally, taking into account how heavily based ATLA is on Buddhism and the such, I would like it if you went for the balance thing better.
