| Axccel chapter 2 . 10/4/2018 Actually the humans did NOT betray the High Elves. This is part of why the Alliance has a significant (though small) population of High Elves. Garithos attacked the elves because they allied with the Naga, who were always Chaotic Evil trying to exterminate everyone. What else was he supposed to think? Especially since the Naga had no reason to care unless they were protecting an investment, which would therefore make the elves traitors and a threat by joining the omnicidal monsters. The High Elves made no attempt to find out from the Alliance what happened, why they were attacked, report the event, etc. They just egotistically decided it must be some sort of conspiracy despite no evidence and all reason and all evidence stating otherwise. The towns and villages were evacuated by the Alliance, many elves in Silvermoon fled to Human territory, often in protest to allying with the naga because they too believed it was treason. Even so it isn’t like the army went around killing everyone, just against the army that had seemingly joined what amounts to a mortal Burning Legion. The High Elves who fled remained loyal to the Alliance and lost their arrogance and by and large seem to have decided they got what they deserved for barely lifting a finget to help humanity against any threat, including the Horde. Which is why most High Elf NPCs in WoW are pleasant to talk to. They learned their moral lesson. The Blood Elves did not and are even more self-righteous and arrogant than ever. |
