![]() Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Nonsensical information about the scribbler: Hey Fanfictors, the name is Nachalas, see? If you don't like it, you'll be swimming with the fishes, see? Alright, enough of my irrelevant rambling. I've been on this site for what seems like decades, and I've finally decided to start adding my stories to see I can entertain people like I've been since I've started reading. I'm under no delusions that my stories won't be amateurish even though I have plenty of experience writing thanks to my time in college. Writing essays and doing research is one thing. Trying to put together amicable plot points together to form coherent and enjoyable tales is another thing entirely. This is a heads up notice for my readers so they will know what is going on with my stories. I devote a good three-fourths of my free time into writing my fan fiction. Just remember if chapter updates seem to straggle, it's because something came up and I will upload as soon as possible. I have no intention on abandoning my stories. I've read too many high quality and amazing pieces only to be shut down and depressed because a good thing ended. What do we say to that? Not today. Heh, go me for relevant use of a Games of Thrones quote. I live obviously in the States, and I am a pretty laid back kind of guy. I enjoy a good scotch and a cigarette every once in awhile, while I am reading up on some of my favorite authors; not just fan fiction authors. A word of advice for those coming into FF and expecting to put out an amazing piece of fiction that will blow reader's minds away. Research, research, research. Read the stories on here and note how grammar should be used and is generally accepted by readers. And try to be original in your writing. Plagiarizing a persons fictional work is not illegal on the site, but it is still frowned upon by the seasoned readers. Don't taint your future plots with the knowledge that people know you are a plagiarizer. Be a boy, or girl, scout and tough it out. I'm not trying to imply that newcomers hoping to post their fiction that they shouldn't because their stories will be inane. I am implying that you should do your homework so when you do write, it can get the proper appreciation that comes with hard work and fantastical ideas. Happy reading folks, Nachalas P.S. Thanks to a review I just received, it reminded me of something I'd like to add about my stories. I will not be using soul bonds as a way to create relationships between characters. I just really disagree with the idea of a soul bond. I mean, connections between lovers are alright, but joining souls? It makes no sense. Alright, I'm done. Peace. I am currently looking for a beta that will work for praise. I need a beta for: 1. Harry Potter and the Hallowed War 2. Harry Potter and the Eternal Magus (Story is in formula still, but I will feed applicants for this story plot details to see if it would be up their alley.) 3. ??? Notes on stories: Harry Potter and the Hallowed War A few reviews have claimed that this is a Gary Stu story, or rather, a self-insertion of my desires for how the story should be. Hopefully, this will clear up any ideas that this could be the case. Harry's powers, in regards to magical strength, have always tended to be above normal. Stronger than average Patronus charm, ability to overcome the Imperius curse by force of will and magic, and other such instances where the level he is at is set higher than normal. I'm not making him out to be a super powered god that many stories on here paint him to be. Rather, I'm just looking and trying to portray what Harry really is. His magical skills on the other hand are woefully underdeveloped, thanks to both the Dursley's and Ron's immaturity when it comes to studying. That's not to say they are solely at fault in this matter because it is obvious that Harry had the choice to embrace and nurture his gift, but he chose to continue on as he had since being introduced to the magical world. Now onto the topic many reviewers are curious about: the pairing with Hermione. One reviewer, and this is not a rant against you because I found it illuminating to how some readers are...anxious to see things move forward, feel as if I'm slighting the relationship between them. Folks, it's literally been three days since Harry started a relationship with Hermione. I plan to move this story on a slow-burn to help acclimate certain elements of the story. If you want a story where a soul bond or instant gratification between them, this story really won't be for you. The dynamic of the two will be introduced sooner than you think and it will start developing from there. All I can ask of you, when reading Hallowed War, is to be patient, re-read for the clues laying about, and be open minded when it comes to new and original plots. I'm writing this story not just for you but for me as well, and I hope with what I have planned that it will intrigue you almost as much as it does me when I thought up the outline for it. Other sources of entertainment: I have a twitter account for those who wish to contact me directly about my stories. I will try to reply as much as I can, and I would heartily enjoy discussing writing and other subjects with other authors. Here is the address: https://twitter.com/Nachalas My favorite authors list is brimming with some of my...well favorite authors on the site. Their stories are generally well written and follow through with intriguing plots. Unfortunately, some of the better stories are either abandoned or delayed. If interested, check them out. I highly recommend joe6991's Wastelands of Time. It completely blew my mind with the way it is written. I won't ruin it for you, go read it. Now. But if you are in the mood for an amazing, yet humorous Harry Potter fiction, look at nonjon's Black Comedy. I've read it five times now and every time, I have to be resuscitated from laughing so hard. Read this story and I assure you that you won't be disappointed. The other authors vary in styles and ideas but they all have great imaginations and writing skills. Enjoy them as much as I have. |
