When you first mentioned the possibility of a Duke of York story all the way back at the end of New Year's Resolution, it was the story I was most excited for - Duke of York brought me to the game more or less. And it would be an understatement to say that you delivered on this story. Fantastic work! Your story had an atmosphere and a tension that was so very well done and gripping to read.

As always, characterisation is your strong point. You've written Duke of York perfectly in-character and nailed her mannerisms - no mean feat considering her archaic way of speaking! She's everything she should be: mysterious, bold, charismatic and sensual, and I really enjoyed the fleshing out of her vampire side, and the uncertainty in the beginning about whether she meant harm to the commander or not. Not to mention that the darker and more explicit themes of the story works very well with her character. And in terms of the smut itself - it was bloody good, short as it was. It is difficult to write smut, and all too often it falls into the trap of writing about the sex instead of the characters, but you've managed it well and it added to, rather than detracted from, the overall story.

Forgive this rambling review, but you deserve strong praise for what you've written. It basically exceeded all of my expectations, and I was eagerly awaiting the update every week. This is easily my favourite of your works, even putting aside my bias for Duke of York, and I look forward to what else you write in the future.

Didn’t quite like the vampire bit in the pseudo epilogue, but it made sense thematically. I’m just a *sucker* for being a human. Oh, puns.
All in all, amazing short story. 10/10.

I'm pleasantly surprised there's going to be a fifth chapter - more Duke of York! I'll save most of my final thoughts for when the end is reached, but suffice to say, I loved every bit of this chapter, from the office interaction to the dream and using Duke of York's skin (imo, quite likely the best in the game).

And poor Wales - I felt bad for her, even though I root for York, and I think that's a testament to how well you've written her and her motivations, showing how she's not a selfish person and puts others before herself.

Eagerly awaiting the conclusion and keep up the great work!

Romance is a little on the fast side, but I'm still enjoying this story immensely. I'm planning on oathing York whenever you finish this story.

Excellent update as always. I've been really enjoying every little bit of Duke of York that you've written and again you've got her speech patterns down to a pat, and I really liked the infusions of vampire lore. It really fleshes out that part of her character.

Great chapter, really liked the foreshadowing and the general feel of the dream sequences and when the brave Commander enters Duke of York's room - they have an appropriately horror-ish feel to them that builds the suspense up well. Really good job!

Duke of York's character and speech are also perfectly done and it's really easy to imagine her actually saying everything. And while she's the star of the show, you've also done a great job with Prince of Wales and her apparent inferiority complex from her less-storied history versus her sister's.

I look forward to what happens when Duke of York wakes up!
