Where has all the Girl Power gone?

I keep looking for stories where Hermione is the main character is is brilliant and kick ass and stronger then a feather despite the fact there's no male back up in sight.

I can't seem to find them.

Where's the fics were the female characters do just fine on their own with out having to 'boink' every single guy in sight. Or where they girls are bad ass because they are Bad Ass not because they're shagging someone who is 'bad ass' or evil or powerful.

What happened to Girl Power?

It's in almost every fandom now: Strong Women are Skanky ass ho bags.

Hell with that.

Where are the Willow Rosenbergs who dedicated themselves to learning and earning their power by trial of fire, where are the Buffy Summers who have greatness thrust upon them and fight tooth and nail to keep their head above the water and give it all for their loved ones, where are the Cordelia Chases who suffer under the false mask society cast them in and strive to a higher calling or the Faith Lehanes who screw up and drag themselves kicking and screaming back to redemption? What happened to Susan Ivanova who is god's right hand and a leader who is prepared to fight til her last and defy the government for what is right?

When did Gabrielle: Battling Bard of Potidaea and Queen of the Amazons become another b-grade cable tart instead of the symbol of strength and freedom she used to represent?

Why is the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants suddenly considered a wussy ass movie/ book series about summer flings instead of what it was when I first read it: four girls on the cusp of adulthood sharing a connection that refused to break despite distant and experiences not shared.

When did Hermione stop being the brightest witch of her age and become a hormone crazed clingy jealous boy obsessed idiot who went after anyone no matter how appropriate the relationship or how much the abused her?

When did Ginny's search for some one who wanted her for her who cared about her opinions and dreams make her a floozy?

When did Luna's ability to see beyond the ordinary to the hidden secrets of the world make her a spazz case who doesn't even know when she's being raped?

Where's Daphne Greengrass and Susan Bones, Where's Hannah and Cho and Penelope?

Where's the Katara who was a mother figure to a lost boy, a revolutionary to a nation and a friend and sister to so many?

Where's Princess Yue who transcended death for the entire world; where's Suki who set aside boys and toys and found herself before she found a relationship?

Where are the strong female role models?

Give me Joe and Ellen Harvel, Lady Sif, Agent Maria Hill and Black Widow, Wonder Woman and Supergirl, Chloe Sullivan and Martha Kent.

Give me Jennifer Tate and Darcy Lewis, Keladry of Mindelan, Bekka Cooper, Princess Ben and Branwen.

Give me strong women with great friendships that don't require femslash to work even if it get ambiguous like Xena and Gabrielle at times.

Give me women who laugh and cry who fight and yes, who sometimes loose, who struggle to push through and not give up.

Give me women who are more then who they are sleeping with, give me women who are more then a weapon who can have sex.

Women who have more then two setting (Simpering whiner and ultra violent bitch).
