The Awesome World of ANITA BLAKE ok so to those who don't know Anita Blake is a character in a awesome book series called the Anita Blake vampire hunter series. its written by Laurell K. Hamilton who I have to say is way better than Harry Potter and twilight combined. I am not dissing them I just think the movies to twilight suck and the books are WAY better I think Edward is creepy U-G-L-Y those eyebrows are going to ATTACK ME on top of that Jacob looks so young and I still see shark boy and not a hot boy which is too weird to even think about. The Harry Potter series I gotta say I can't read the books it's just I can't wrap my head around them so all I've see is the movies which are good and I really like them just not enough to watch a thousand times like the other movies I like. So to get to the point the book series is way in-depth in the natural world and science. Of course there is some myths and magic and a lot of aw shit that's cheating in it but I gotta say she backs them up with some pretty good facts. its better then twilight in the sense that vampires are what people are normally used not that I don't applaud the author to twilight cause she's one of the first to break the "law" and say fuck you I wanna make vampires different I cheer her in this and her being an individual and all those who bash her for it well I got one question WHAT IS A REAL VAMPIRE? I mean come on no one really knows and if they do well good on you for not flaunting it in our face. There are so many different types of vampires out there right not so get over it and STFU if you don't like it don't read it but do us all a favor and shove your rude opinion up where the sun does not shine thank you have a nice day :) well anyway... so I was saying that vampires are the same expect a lot of stuff is different like the fact silver can hurt them just not in a werewolf sort of way we all know they can heal super fast but sliver plated bullets as Anita would say makes them heal almost human slow and BOY does it suck to be human when it comes to that. The big reason in this is the fact that vampires are declared legal U.S.A citizens in the world that the story resides in so it is considered murder when you kill a vampire without a warrant of execution whichhh leads us back to ANITA BLAKE. she's a kick ass women who not only is an animator (p.s an animator is someone who can raise the dead this practice is fairly known as people hire her and the colleagues she works with and does not work with to raise the dead for a personal or legal matter Example would be if someone really killed themselves or just to say goodbye to a loved one ECT you gotta read the books to learn more :ppp) but works part-time as a supernatural expert or "retainer" with a special team of cops called RPIT pronounced Rip-it which stands for the Regional Preternatural Investigation Team. A strong protagonist in the series, Blake is very direct, flippant, and highly competent in the professions she is involved in. She is trained in judo, kenpo and knows how to use several weapons, but is most efficient with guns (as the series begins, the Browning citizen Hi-Power is her carry gun of choice, though later in the series she switches to the Browning BDM). She is also a devout Christian which often creates moral dilemmas for the character. She is currently of the Episcopalian faith, having left Catholicism since the Catholic Church has excommunicated all animators. She is of mixed heritage, her mother having been Mexican and her father's family German. Laurell K. Hamilton is the author of two series of stories: Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter is about a female necromancer and her relationships with vampires and wereanimals. The series runs to 19 novels as of February 2010, and a number of short story collections and other tie-in media such as comic books. More than 6 million copies of Anita Blake novels have been printed and it became a New York Times Bestseller. Merry Gentry is an urban fantasy in which fairies live in the USA. Hamilton published the first book in 2000. Both series focus in part on St. Louis, Missouri. The city is the home base for Anita Blake. In the Merry Gentry series, the home base for the fairies' Dark Court is at Cahokia Mounds, across the Mississippi River from St. Louis. YAY ST LOUIS well anys i gotta say READ cause it is a great read and might help future writes of fan fic with broadening their horizon the first book is below with Details thanks and I hope you read it. Guilty Pleasures Guilty Pleasures introduces the character of Anita Blake, vampire hunter, and her world, an alternate history where magic, vampires, werewolves and other supernatural elements exist. Blake, a zombie animator and licensed vampire executioner, investigates a series of vampire murders, and in the process comes into contact with many of the supernatural characters of her home city of St. Louis, Missouri. The novel blends elements of supernatural and Hard boiled Detective Fiction. "Guilty Pleasures" is the name of a vampire strip club operated by vampire Jean-Claude, one of the main characters. Hamilton has continued the pattern of naming the novels after a site for most of the books in the series. Fave quotes of Anita Blake "There comes a point when you just love someone. Not because they're good, or bad, or anything really. You just love them. It doesn't mean you'll be together forever. It doesn't mean you won't hurt each other. It just mean you love them. Sometimes in spite of who they are, and sometimes because of who they are. And you know that they love you, sometimes because of who you are, and sometimes in spite of it." "There comes a point when you either embrace who and what you are, or condemn yourself to be miserable all your days. Other people will try to make you miserable; don't help them by doing the job yourself." "Neither love nor evil conquers all, but evil cheats more." "Stupidity isn't punishable by death. If it was, there would be a hell of a population drop." Anita Blake" "If I let you get killed, the other body guards will make fun of me." "Sometimes it's not the optimist you need, but another pessimist to walk beside you and know, absolutely know, that the sound in the dark is a monster, and it really is as bad as you think. Did that sound hopeless? It didn't feel hopeless. It felt reassuring. It felt - real." "You can't save everybody. In fact, there are days when I think you can't save anyone. Each person has to save himself first, then you can move in and help. I have found this philosophy does not work during a gun battle, or a knife fight either. Outside of that it works just fine." "Sticks and stones will break your bones, but failure will get you killed." "Most hatred is based on fear, one way or another. Yeah. I wrapped myself in anger, with a dash of hate, and at the bottom of it all was an icy center of pure terror." "Never trust people who smile constantly. They're either selling something or not very bright. Anita Blake" "One thing I've learned about vampires--they keep pulling new rabbits out of their cloaks. Big, fanged, carnivorous bunnies that'll eat your eyeballs if you're not paying attention." "Accidental sex. He made it sound like I fell down, and there just happened to be an erection in the way." "Everyone has their weaknesses. Some people smoke. I collect stuffed penguins. If you won't tell, I won't." "What did they think I was going to do, steal a body? If I wanted to, I could empty the damn place and get every corpse to play follow the leader. Perhaps that was why I needed watching. Perhaps." --Anita Blake" "Can the sarcasm,' he said. 'Please, I always use fresh sarcasm, never canned." "Death didn't bother me much. Strong Christian and all that. Method of death did. Being eaten alive. One of my top three ways not to go out." "His eyes widened just a bit, his lips flexed. I realized he was trying not to laugh. I hate it when people find my threats amusing." "Surely being in love doesn't cause you to lose your sense of good taste. If I ever buy a gown with sequins on it, someone just shoot me. " "I wondered if I had offended him. I wondered if I cared. " "Questions are great, but only if you know the answers. If you ask questions and the answers surprise you, you look silly." "Maybe they know what I know, that the true way to a man's heart is six inches of metal between his ribs. Sometimes four inches will do the job, but to be really sure, I like to have six. Funny how phallic objects are always more useful the bigger they are. Anyone who tells you size doesn't matter has been seeing too many small knives." "Important safety tip with most of the spiritual world: if you ignore it, it has less power. This does not work with demons or other demi-beings. Other exceptions to the rule are vampires, zombies, ghouls, lycanthropes, witches...Oh, hell, ignoring only works for ghosts." "If you fear nothing, then you are not brave. You are merely to foolish to be afraid." "A girl could never have too much jewelry or too much weaponry." "I didn't know what to say to that, so i kept my mouth shut. When in doubt, shut the fuck up." "I never met coffee that wasn't wonderful. "...I spend most of my waking hours confronting and destroying things that I fear. A thousand-year-old master vampire was a tall order, but a girl's got to have a goal." "Death, especially violent death, will turn the meanest bastard in the world into a nice guy. Why is that?" "One of my favorite things about hanging out with the monsters is the healing. Straight humans seemed to get killed on me a lot. Monsters survived. Let's hear it for the monsters." "Methinks we have a clue. Be still, my heart." "Should I eat first or accuse the Master of the City of murder? Choices, choices. -Anita" "Regrets are about decisions that you know you should have done different." "cars aren't fun to chase. they don't bleed." "No name-calling truly bites deep unless, in some dark part of us, we believe it. If we are confident enough then it is just noise." "I was caught between going yippy-skippy i get to play with them both, and running like hell. "Sometimes good and evil aren't so much opposites as two sides of a coin. You toss it one way and it looks good, another way and it's evil, sometimes it just depends on which end of the gun you're on." "Larry's zombie bag was a nearly virulent green with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on it. I was almost afraid to ask what his vampire bag looked like." "Illusion is sometimes all that keeps us sane." - Anita" and i would put more but there are TOOOO MANY MOO Paste to ur profile if ur addicted to fanfiction.net!!!
