I have to say I’m seriously put off by Harry’s rant about the necklace. The whole “I don’t understand girls” thing from a few chapters back already bothered me but this makes it a lot worse. The line about the Dursley’s makes me think some storyline about it is incoming but such casual sexism is not my thing at all and I don’t like how you’ve included it. This is probably the first negative comment I’ve ever left on a fanfiction and I’m not looking to make it a habit. I’m gonna continue reading and hope some positive character development is incoming.

good story

I wanted to like this story. It's got fleshed out characters, good theories about the Notts and Zabinis, and very little bashing.

But it alternates growth by everybody except (intermittently) Harry with sitcom-level stupidity, especially by Harry.

Worse, it rehashes the same tired themes over, and over, and over, and over...

There's some good stuff here, but it's buried in a ton of crud. This fic takes about 180K words (actual story, not AN's and cruft) to advance very little plot and only 10 to 20K words of character growth. 180K is more than HP1 and HP2 combined.

Chop this story down to thirty-thousand words and it would be a fine, possibly outstanding, fic.

The threads of this tapestry twist together impeccably.

Ive undertaken the task of rereading this entire series in order to remember what happened, and I don’t regret it whatsoever XD

Read these first three chapters and sorry if I've missed understood but this isn't making a whole lot of sense.

This is a tough read

This is really very well done - I really liked how the character dynamics unfolded. The premise of Slytherin Harry obviously isn't new, but having him switch houses is a realy interesting and unique twist! Severus' emotional arc in coming to care for Harry was amazing and gripping and on another day might have even moved me to tears... I liked how pragmatic Harry was even throughout his emotional turmoil, which maybe isn't entirely in character but was very nice to follow. Thanks for sharing - I'll be reading the sequel!
