UPDATE SCHEDULE (New: 7/21/17): NOTE 9/9/13: I will TRY to keep to this schedule, however sometimes I don't make deadlines. Apologies in advance, but I will hopefully not take too long. 8/12/17 Note: I apologize, but I'm going to only update when I actually receive reviews (that means stories that have a greater review percentage are at the top of my priority). One, I work a hell of a lot on chapters and it feels crappy to receive a handful (or less) reviews when I do update them, and I feel tired of comparing my work to others (usually crappy stories) that receive more reviews for the sake of a more popular pairing or whatever (that makes me feel like extra shitty). I will continue to write for myself, because I love writing, but I feel no need to make the extra hassle of editing and updating when I'm not getting responses. It's less work for me, and I've got a life and I should be working on my originals. I can continue to write and be happy and do it for me. Posting is really more or less for you guys, and because I enjoy entertaining people with my stories. Regulars (Fics that will be updated regularly, usually on Fridays, sometime Mondays or through the week) Top Priority Fics: (in whatever order) The Light Before We Land (until at least the period between LT and SoM is written out) (80% chance of updating) Can't Take the Sky From Me (70% of updating) An Oreo Crust Crumbling (85% chance) The Bachelor: Italia Amore! (80%) Secondary Priority Fics: (in this order) Skip Beat!: Jump Pulse! (70%), The Love Me Confessionals (10%), An Education (70%), Comae Berenicids Falling in Winter (maybe) (5%) PJO: Courtesy Needs a Call, Percabeth Swiss Revolution, Conquest of Paradise (Percentages weighted later, since I've not yet to get back to these) Stranger Happenings (85%), A Ticket Out of HFIL (15%) Hiro: Prometheus Complex (75%), Love in Hopeless Places (70%), Bleach It Orange! (80%)Everything else when I can or feel like it. Percy Jackson Temp Hiatus (to hurry and finish the others):
Limbo: Twilight: Devil in a Sweet Kiss -so Stairway to Heaven will be finished or at least have more work on it. HPxJustice League: Forsake Thy Virtues -until the other fics with more priority get finished or progress more. Dollhouse: Happiness in Misery -as with Forsake Thy Virtues.REGARDING PRIVATE MESSAGES and REPLIES Please try to not clog my inbox asking for updates. My inbox is full of PMs that just keep coming and piling on top of each other. If it's really important, go ahead and PM me. As for replies, I'm sorry I get lazy, forgetful, etc. If I don't reply quickly or something, please don't be upset. It's me, not you. In any case, please patient or try again. I'll try to get back to people that had questions/something significant to say other than "Update". (My profile is currently acting strange and underlining everything, so...) About me? I'm Erica. Nice 'ta meet ya. Hello all! So, I like to write oddball pairings (usually ones that are unheard of and I'm the one that actually came up with it -I just get drawn over to a certain pairing and become obsessive towards it -shrugs-). Which goes with my usually not writing canon, because canon's been done and I prefer to write something different and something that could let me be unique, original, creative, and generally allow me to go out of the box and do something to challenge myself. And something to challenge myself like that is that I prefer to write 'age differences' stories, yaoi/slash (yes, I am a proud fujoshi), again -strange pairings (I love trying to make them work), AU's and/or what if's, mental/physical disorders and/or trauma, reverse!harems or harems (and actually making it emotional and in depth), genderbenders (I don't know why, but I get crazy over these XD), and lots of angst and fluff and drama and hoohaa! Kesesese... I think my humor's odd, but people seem to enjoy it if my crack!fics, semi-crack!fics, and interjected humor throughout every other fic gives me a clue. My old stuff? Please ignore it XD A lot of them I wrote when I was like 11 and I'm 26 now. They embarrass me. Some of them are okay enough, but compared to now, just please. Unless I did a revision, like for "A Ticket Out of HFIL", don't even bother. I don't know why people still read 'em. ONCE AGAIN, I don't like to stick to canon (or too much to). It's what I like to do -be creative, original, try to be as inventive and different as I can, and try as many twists and hope to entertain and make people think. This is free work, people. I'm not making any money off of anything; I'm writing solely to entertain people and myself. So be kind, or at least respectful and polite. Otherwise, you must have degenerated some generations and went back to the caveman era (yeah, I'm looking at you). Also, I give plenty of warnings (about pairings or whatever) or I try to, so if you diss me about non-canon stuff/pairings anyway...you MUST be stupid or don't know how to read (again, I'm looking at you). Which is ironic, considering this is a reading site -I warn you, so you don't have the right to complain. So you know whatever's going to be there, so why the hell are you still reading the fic? I get constructive criticism I reserve the right to defend or explain myself if I can. This is supposed to be for the BENEFIT of the reader, so that I can help them see what's going on (especially since it's usually a point that isn't explained and wasn't supposed to be until later, but SOMEBODY'S got to complain -I don't mind so much if the person's being nice and/or is genuinely confused, but when you're telling me I'm stupid or something like that, I'm taking offense). DON'T tell me to take some so-called CC, especially when you want to be rude about it, and tell me to be grateful for it and not be an idiot. I don't take kindly to that either. Insult me, I WILL come after you. I'm done playing nice. I've been a veteran of this site for over a little over a decade (reading and writing), and only recently have come across assholes a lot more frequently than before. I'll be polite first time around; you want to keep going, I'll fuck you over and put you on blast. If you read to the end, congratulations! And you know me, sort of XD Thank you for listening, and enjoy your flight into Wonderland. Writing-wise: I prefer to write, usually, third person omniscient. I also tend to sacrifice grammar for tone, mood, or for a character's 'voice'. And also for irony, emphasis, or some form of drama. I also utilize syntax for that as well. So if grammar is wrong in a place, usually it's on purpose. Especially for run-ons, because certain characters (or people in general can get like that) ramble, especially in their heads and especially when panicked :D I try to write a minimum of at least 2000 words per chapter (40 KB), but I'm happier with more. If I have typos, please mention it in a review or something. I try to edit as much as I can, but there will probably be something I missed (even if it's not a lot), seeing as how my eyesight is in the negatives (with a stigmatism XD) and I tend to have a bad habit to edit around the midnight hour slot, heh. The best way to get me to update? Leave a review. As much as I appreciate 'favorites' and 'followers', I'm less likely to remember you. I actually read reviews, and if they're something other than 'Please update' (which makes me feel like a work horse honestly), usually people who take time to leave a review motivate me, might leave some unintentional inspiration (whether it's through a comment, suggestion, their name even), and especially make me feel really guilty about not updating and therefore make me try to make myself useful and write something. Lately, that's been "The Light Before We Land" (yeah, you know who you are XD -I'm sorry!), though before there were a little less than a handful of people specifically for "The Day the Whole World Went Away" (which finally got updated after -what? Two, three years? And is now back to a 'regular'). As of 9/1/13, I edited all the more explicit things in my stuff, so if you're an older reader and think something is missing, yep. This is just in case, so my stories don't get deleted and you all can still enjoy it. I've been getting paranoid a lot more lately, and I just want to be careful and see that it's not too racy for what's considered on this site (it's hard to tell sometimes). Full uncensored versions should be soon made available on my Ao3 account here: Ao3: eri_quin. Or (as of 3/4/14) my Wattpad account (because people think they can steal my stuff and post it there): Wattpad: eri_quin. Sorry for the inconvenience. I have a collaboration account with some friends that deal with Pokemon stories! If you could check it out and fav, alert and ESPECIALLY review, it would be much appreciated. I'm personally writing "The Book of Eve," "The Book of Mal," and "Kitty Claws" (and will soon add "The Book of Leaf" to that list). My first forum: Rare pairings forum, with challenges soon to come. And now (5/13/15), I have a new streamlined site -the other ones will now just be a media/extras site -that hosts my fanfiction completely (as well as some stories that are unpublished and just on my flashdrive but has had a lot of work done for them). I will also have challenges/prompts hosted there, so take a look once that's been posted. So "La Finale Aria" = media, extras, etc. Felicity Dream Fanfics wix website = streamlined for just fanfiction, reading needs. Pat-reon (bc FFN doesn't apparently like advertising that site and therefore I have to skew the name): eri_quin Due to advice from some readers, I decided to go ahead and create an account, and I hope there will be some who are able to and wish to be a patron! Link in the title. Some form of my original works will be available.
