Marry You!

Summary: Love + Marriage = Family. This is what Naruto believed. In order to gain the family, she's always dreamed of, she needs to marry the man she loves the most. Her Inu-niisan! Too bad she doesn't know who the man behind the mask is.

Note: Fem Naruto, KakaNaru pairing, Character deaths, Sasuke and Sakura bashing. I don't own Naruto or the song Marry You

"Hey old man, how do I get a family to call my own?"

Hiruzen Sarutobi, the third Hokage, glanced up to the little six-year-old girl with bright, spikey blonde hair, sky blue eyes and whiskered cheeks; who was original drawing quietly in a corner; now stood in front of his desk gazing longingly at a photo on it. His family photos.

He smiled softly and pat his lap for her to sit. Naruto smiled widely and giggled as she climbed onto her grandpa's lap.

"Well Naru-chan. First you need to find someone you love the most."

"Love the most? Like you?"

"No, not like me. But I do love you too. I mean… love is… love is when your heart skips a beat, you get butterflies in your stomach, and you feel safe in their arms."

"Like with Inu-niisan!? Because I love him, the most! Second to you of course!"

Hiruzen just laughed at the girl, and the sputtering, choking Anbu hidden in the corner.

"So, what comes after love, Gramps?"

"That would be marriage. It is where two people come together; and vowing to one another to always love, care and respect each other until death tears them apart."

Naruto frowned at the sad look the Hokage was showing; and glanced at the photo of his family; more specifically at the old woman next to him. She noticed there were a couple of photos of this woman, Naruto had never seen her in the village before so it must mean she died.

"I don't think that's right old man. I mean, judging by the photos on your desk you love your wife, and still do. I am sure she is waiting for you in the village in the sky; because I don't think death is strong enough to keep two people in love apart."

The Hokage stared in awe at how mature the six-year-old sounded.

"But don't be leaving yet! I don't think she'd be happy if you left me, your family and village so soon! Besides, you can't die until you've personally handed over that hat to me!"

No matter how serious and mature she sounded for her age. Naruto was still Naruto; and he wouldn't change who she is because that was what he loved about her.

"What's next Gramps?"

"Well Naru, after falling in love and getting married. a couple will want to start a family of their own and have children."

Naruto gazed up in wonder then a glint appeared in her eye that had the Hokage on edge. A horrifying thought crossed the minds of the Hokage and hidden Anbu in the room; all chanting the same thought.

'Don't ask'

"Hey Gramps, where do babies come from?"

'Well shit'

'Crap'

'Minato and Kushina are going to kill me'

The Hokage averted his eyes and coughed in his hand, signalling an Anbu forward. Naruto's eyes shone once she saw who it was.

"Inu-niisan!"

She cried happily, jumping down from the Hokage's lap. Naruto flung herself into his arms.

"Well Naruto. It is getting late and it is time for you to go to bed. Inu-san is going to take you home."

"Ok, Gramps."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Naruto stared up into the mask face of her Inu-niisan silently. The Anbu and Hokage watched as her face twisted into determination. Both men sputtered in shocked as she kissed the white face mask, right where his lips would be. Naruto grinned.

"Hey Inu-niisan, guess what."

"What?"

"I am going to marry you. That's a promise!"

The Hokage laughed out loud as the sputtering Anbu shunshined away with the little girl in his arms. Knowing full well that Naruto was a woman of her word, and would no doubt keep that promise.

'Poor Kakashi. He has no idea what the future will bring them.'

"GRANPA!"

A tearful eight-year-old Naruto runs into the room. Her eyes glossy and tears staining her rosy cheeks. An angry secretary hot on her heels. Hands raised to grab her by the throat. Not caring if the Hokage and three of his shinobi were in the room with him.

"I told you demons are not allowed in here!"

Suddenly, Naruto was lifted by a silver-haired masked man and hold protectively away from the screaming woman, who was being restrained by two other shinobi's; a scared man with a pineapple shaped head and another scarred man all in black.

"Ibiki take her away and let Anko have her." The Hokage ordered angrily as he went to take Naruto from the ninja.

"Kakashi, give her here."

Kakashi's lone eye gazed down in tearful blue before reluctantly handing her over and moving over to his fellow ninja who was watching him closely.

"Now Naruto, what's wrong?"

"G-granpa… hic… Inu… Inu-niisan is gone!" she wailed. "Where has Inu-niisan gone? I want Inu-niisan!"

Kakashi winced at her cries, desperately wanting to comfort the crying girl in his arms.

"Naru-chan. Inu is no longer a member of Anbu."

"HE'S DEAD!?"

The Hokage, Kakashi and the scared shinobi jumped in shock. Where had she come up with such an idea.

"No Naruto. Inu-san isn't dead, he retired from Anbu and is now just a regular jounin."

"So- so he's alive?"

"Yes. Naruto, where did you get the idea, he was dead?"

"From Sasuke Uchiha."

Everyone looked up as a young boy entered the room.

"Shikamaru."

"Hey dad."

The lazy boy walked over to his father, Shikaku Nara, glancing once a Naruto before looking straight at the Hokage.

"Shikamaru, please tell us what happened today."

"Troublesome… it all started this morning at the academy."

Flashback

Naruto stared sadly out of the window, a troubled frown on her pretty face. Beside her sat the shy and quiet Hinata, Shikamaru and Choji behind her and Shino in front. On the other side of the room sat Kiba and Akamaru; with Ino and Sakura sitting further down beside Sasuke.

"N-Naru-c-chan a-are y-you ok?"

The blond just stared blankly at her, her bright blue, expressive eyes dull and depressed.

"Hey Dobe! What's wrong with you? Finally realised your worthless!" Sasuke shouted at her, hoping for a reaction – a reason to spar.

"Oi, Teme! Leave her alone!" Kiba and Akamaru growled at the last Uchiha.

"I'm fine Hinata. Just worried."

"A-about w-what?"

"Inu-niisan hasn't come to visit me for a while now. I'm worried, I don't know where he is or if he is even alive."

"Who is Inu-niisan Naruto?" Ino had walked over in interest, always happy to hear new gossip.

"He's the man I am going to marry and start a family with."

"Marry!? Who in their right mind would marry you?" Sakura asked snidely. "Your nothing but a pathetic no name orphan, who the adults all call a demon. You don't deserve a family!"

"SAKURA!"

The whole class jumped in shock as their teacher, Iruka, walked in the room. An angry expression on his plum face.

"You will stay with me after class for the rest of the week."

"But Iruka-sensei, Naruto-baka…"

"No arguments Sakura, now sit down!"

The pink haired girl sat down with a frown on her face, glaring daggers at Naruto every now and then. Sasuke just stared back at the girl.

"Hey Dobe… if this Inu person hasn't visited you it could mean he is either on a mission outside the village or…"

"Inu-niisan works personally with the Hokage."

… He's dead."

Naruto's heart stopped, her head shaking back and forth in denial.

'No'

"NO! Take that back Teme! Inu-niisan is not dead! He's not!"

"Don't call Sasuke-kun a liar, Naruto-baka! If he said he's dead, then he is dead!"

The classed watched in silence as the girl broke down in tears. Sasuke and Sakura just smirked at her, while Kiba, Choji, Shino and Ino just glared at them for their insensitivity, while Hinata tried to comfort her friend.

"Face it Dobe, he's dead."

"No, he's not! I'll prove it!"

Naruto jumped over tables and ran out the rooms, fresh tears falling down her face.

"SASUKE! You'll be joining Sakura after class every day this week."

The last Uchiha just scowled and turned away. Sighing, Shikamaru pulled himself up and walked down the aisle to the door.

"And where are you going Shikamaru?"

"The Hokage tower. Naruto said she was going to get proof, that is where she'll go."

The Uchiha scoffed "Like that Dobe is close to the Hokage."

"Actually Sasuke, she is. The Hokage is a Grandfather to Naruto. Shikamaru, please go after Naruto and make sure she's ok. Please bring her back once she has her proof."

Shikamaru just nodded to Iruka before leaving with a tired yawn and a quiet "Troublesome."

Flashback end

The Hokage frowned and turned to Shikaku. "Have someone collect Sakura Haruno's mother and take her to Anko and Ibiki for questioning."

Shikaku bowed to his Hokage and gazed calculatingly between his son and Naruto before whispering something to his son. Shikamaru pouted and grumbled quietly as he walked towards Naruto and held his hand out for her.

"Come on, Naruto, let's go back to class and tell them Inu-niisan is alive. Then, let's go cloud watching with Choji."

Naruto sniffed and wiped her eyes with her sleeve before taking Shikamaru's hand and heading for the door.

"Bye, Grandpa."

"Goodbye Naruto."

Naruto notice Shikamaru was sweating nervously as they walked and looked behind them to see the masked shinobi, Kakashi, was glaring at their joint hands.

'His arms felt safe and warm.'

"Ok everyone, congratulations on becoming genin! You'll all now be arranged to a three man squad, they'll be your teammates from this day onwards. Let's begin, team 1…"

The class sat in silence as they listened to Iruka, all the girls hoping to be with Sasuke (except Naruto and Hinata of course); while some boys begged not to be placed with Sasuke or Sakura. Sasuke just scowled at the thought of being held back by useless teammates, whereas Naruto just stared blankly out the window. Her eyes hollow and sad, and a fake smile on her lips. Shikamaru and Hinata were the only ones to notice this.

"… Team 7 will be Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Naruto Uzumaki…"

Iruka's face grimaced, 'What was the Hokage thinking?'

"YES! TRUE LOVE PREVALS! TAKE THAT INO-PIG!"

"SHUT UP! Now team 8 will be Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuuga and Kiba Inuzuka. Team 9 is still in circulation. Finally, team 10 will be Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka and Choji Akimichi. Please sit and wait here for your sensei to arrive."

Three Hours Later

"WHERE THE HELL IS OUR SENSEI!?" Sakura screamed as she glared up at Naruto, thinking it was all her fault that her Sasuke-kun's training to kill his brother was being delayed. Sasuke on the other hand just grind his teeth together in annoyance and anger, 'How dare this worthless sensei stand me up. I am an Uchiha, an elite!' Naruto just ignored all this and continued to stare outside the window, when the door finally opened.

Sasuke and Sakura glared at the man who entered, while Naruto barely spared a single glance. He was the man in the Hokage's office four years prior, Kakashi Hatake the Copy-Cat ninja. With his unmistakable gravity defying grey hair, mask and slouched exterior, he wasn't someone anyone could miss taking notice of.

"Maa. My first impression of you three is… boring. Meet me on the roof."

He poofed away leaving two any pissed off pre-teens and a quiet fox. Pissed Sasuke charged out the door, not caring to wait for Sakura and Naruto. Ever the loyal bitch – I mean lap dog, Sakura went after the Uchiha and not bothering to collect Naruto. Naruto just sighed, knowing full well the survival test was pointless with these two on her team and just climbed out the open window and walking up the side.

Kakashi jumped in surprise at her quiet appearance and watched as she went to sit down on the left. He was about to start talking to her when Sasuke crashed through the door, with Sakura panting pitifully behind him. They both glared at Naruto, knowing for a fact that neither of them saw her following them or invited her along. They sat as far away from her as they could and continue to glare at her. Their behaviour not going unnoticed by the disapproving glare of their sensei.

"Well, now that we are all here, why don't you introduce yourselves?"

"How do we do that sensei?"

'Seriously, this pink banshee is kunoichi of the year? Dear god, please don't tell me all the girls who passed are this stupid' "Maa maa. Tell me about your likes, dislikes, hobbies and dreams… etc."

"Why don't you lead by example. Show us how it's done."

"Maa, fine. My name is Kakashi Hatake. I have many likes and dislikes. Hobbies? I have lots of them. Dreams? I rather not say."

Kakashi eye smiled, taking sadistic pleasure at the Uchiha's and Haruno's obvious anger. Naruto… showed no emotion except a knowing recognition.

'All we learnt was his name!'

'Kakashi Hatake, twenty-six years old. An elite jounin know as the Copy-Cat ninja. Was formally the student of the fourth Hokage. Likes dogs and Icha Icha Paradise. Hates traitors, those who break the rules and those who abandon their comrades. Hobbies include teasing his friend Gai, reading Icha Icha in public and walking his dogs. Dream unknown.'

"Let's begin, you first pink banshee."

Sakura gnashed her teeth together. 'How dare he call me a banshee. I am the most beautiful, quietest girl in class. It's Naruto who's a banshee. Why is she even here?' Plastering on a sickly-sweet smile, that was obviously fake, she opened her mouth.

"My name is Sakura Haruno. My likes are…. (giggles) My hobbies are… (giggles) My dream is to… (squeals uncontrollably).

'Holy crap! Did the Hokage give me a kunoichi or a giggling, squealing monkey-pig thing?' "And your dislikes?"

Sakura scowled. "Ino-pig and Naruto-baka. Oh! Another dream of mine is to see Naruto die." She had an honestly sincere smile on her face, making Kakashi even angrier.

"Sakura. We do not dream for our comrade's death. Keep that up and your kicked from the ninja program." His glare hardened and leaked a little killing intent that had the girl gasping and gagging. The Uchiha not holding on any better. 'Pathetic the both. At least Naruto has no problem facing a little killing intent.'

"Emo, your up."

"I am Sasuke Uchiha. I have no likes and lots of dislikes. I have no hobbies or dreams; but a goal. It is my goal to kill the man who massacred my clan; and then restore my clan with a strong, competent kunoichi."

'So cool!'

'Great a fan-girl and an avenger. I don't like how he look at Naruto when he talked about restoring his clan. Naruto was spoken for. To Inu. To me!'

'Why is Sasuke-kun looking at Naruto-baka? She is the dead last, not a strong and component kunoichi like me! Maybe he wants her as a whore mistress? Like hell I'll let Naruto-baka have my Sasuke!'

"Ok. Lastly, the blond beauty."

Sakura cried in outrage. "Beauty!? That dead last nobody is the ugliest girl in class. She looks no different to the whores in the red-light district; I bet you that is where she'll end up, because that is all she is a whore!"

"SAKURA! BE QUIET OR I'LL REPORT YOU TO THE HOKAGE OF SLANDER OF A COMRADE AND YOU'LL BE BANNED FROM THE PROGRAM INDEFINATELY!"

Sakura flinched backwards in fright. Tears glossing her eyes as she trembled under her sensei's rage and for once did the smartest thing she has ever done. She stayed quiet. Naruto, through all this, sat quietly. Not once making any sound. The only reaction she made since arriving to the roof was her cheeks reddening at being called 'beautiful'.

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki-Na… I like to garden, Shikamaru, the Nara's, the Hokage and Inu-niisan. I don't like rapists, traitors, fangirls, emo's, Uchiha's, the colour pink; and people who don't know the difference between a scroll and a kunai. My hobbies are reading, gardening, cooking and playing shogi with the Nara's. My dream is to repay the Nara's for their care and kindness, become the best kunoichi I can be and to hopefully become Hokage; and to one day gain the villager's acceptance and acknowledgement."

'She has grown in an interesting way, and she appears to be the only normal one of the three.'

"Good. Now that's out of the way, I have one final announcement. Tomorrow at 6am you'll be doing our final test. Pass and your in the program. Fail and you return to the academy. Meet me at training ground 7… Oh and before I forget, I suggest you don't eat any breakfast if you don't want to vomit tomorrow. See ya!"

Kakashi poofed away and appeared on a nonboring roof to watch his possible students. Frowning in disappointment at their already lack of teamwork.

"WHAT DOES HE MEAN FINAL TEST!? WE'VE ALREADY DONE IT!"

"The academy one, yes; but jounin sensei's have their own test they put their teams through. The test is always one that place us against each other, when the answer is teamwork. Tomorrow we need to work together in order to pass."

'Hmm, seems Naruto knows what she's talking about but the other two…'

"Hn. Like I would ever work with you two annoying losers. Teammates are for weaklings. I don't need them."

"Yeah Naruto-baka. Stop telling lies that will only make Sasuke-kun fail! Why don't you shut up and get lost or better yet die!"

Kakashi growled. Seemed like the pink banshee didn't heed his warning, better keep an eye on her around Naruto. Sasuke walked off with his lap dog following him at his heels begging for a date only to be rejected with a deafening no. Naruto sighed again, 'What was gramps thinking?' She turned slightly to look over the village before jumping away towards the Nara compound.

'Was she staring straight at me? Impossible I was too far away; and since when did she live at the Nara compound?'

Kakashi slumped at the headache he was getting. He hadn't even done his bell test yet and his two little pain the ass' and cute princess were already causing him problems. Still there was one thing troubling him about Naruto…

'She never mentioned about marrying me.'

Amazingly he had passed them only because Naruto understood the true meaning of the test. She got the bells and instead of keeping them, gave them to Sasuke and Sakura. (He also passed them because the council threatened to do something to Naruto if he didn't.)

So far, they have completed a couple of missions. Their most successful being their first C to A-ranked mission in wave. It was thanks to Naruto's kind heart and determination to go on that they save the villagers; they even thanked her by naming the new bridge after her – much to Sasuke's and Sakura's annoyance.

Today was the nomination of the chunnin exams. All the jounin-sensei's were lined up in front of the Hokage to announce their team entries.

"I nominate team 7, consisting of Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno and Naruto for the chunnin exam."

"I nominate team 8, consisting of Shino Aburame, Hinata Hyuuga and Kiba Inuzuka for the chunnin exam."

"I NOMINATE HE YOUFULL TEAM 9, CONSISTING NEJI HYUUGA, TENTEN AND ROCK LEE FOR THE CHUNNIN EXAM!"

"I nominate team 10, consisting of Shikamaru Nara, Ino Yamanaka and Choji Akimichi for the chunnin exam."

Kakashi ignored everyone around him, only growling when Iruka made a claim over his students. Over his Naruto. She was his now. His mind kept going back to the declaration Naruto made six years prior…

Flashback

"Hey Inu-niisan, guess what."

"What?"

"I am going to marry you. That's a promise!"

The Hokage laughed out loud as the sputtering Anbu shunshined away with the little girl in his arms. Knowing full well that Naruto was a woman of her word, and would no doubt keep that promise.

'Poor Kakashi. He has no idea what the future will bring them.'

Flashback ends

At first, he thought it was a childish crush and nothing more; but for six years she always said the same even when Inu left Anbu. Naruto may not know who Inu is, but that won't stop her in keeping her promise. So, what had happened to the little girl who said she was going to marry him?

"Dismissed."

Kakashi waited silently for the room to empty. The Hokage, himself, Iruka, Shikaku, Asuma, Kurenai and Gai being the only ones left in the room.

"Yes Kakashi?"

"What happened?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what happened to Naruto. Before her graduation she was always saying how she was going to marry her Inu-niisan; and now…"

"I would think you'd be happy she grew out of that phase Kakashi."

"Why is Hatake-san concerned with Naruto's infatuation with the Anbu Inu?"

"Because Kakashi is Naruto's Inu-niisan."

Everyone watched the expressions come over Iruka's face; confusion, worry, shocked, and then anger. Kakashi felt a cold chill run down his spine as that anger was directed at him.

"OVER MY DEAD BODY I AM GOING TO LET YOU NEAR NARUTO, YOU PERVERT!"

Kakashi paled and cowered as the small man went for him with a kunai. He jumped and dodged each strike whilst trying to calm the angry and overprotective man down.

"Enough! Iruka calm down."

Iruka growled and glared at Kakashi as he moved back to his previous position near the Hokage. Asuma just sweat dropped at the situation, 'No wonder Shikamaru referred Iruka as a mother hen. I can clearly see ruffled feathers.'

"You were saying Kakashi."

"I am just concerned. We all know that since Naruto was little, she always keeps her promises. For her to not even mention it now, when the morning of her graduation she was telling nearly everyone of it troubles me.'

"Yoshino and I have also noticed this change. On the morning of her graduation she and Shikamaru were leaving, and she was loudly saying she was just one step closer to becoming Hokage and finding Inu-niisan to propose to him. Then a day later, on the day for team assignments, she only mentioned becoming Hokage. When Yoshino asked about her proposal to Inu-niisan she said that it was only a silly dream"

The Hokage frowned, concerned for his favourite blonde; Kakashi looked hurt that Naruto would say that after all these years saying she loved him. Iruka furrowed his brows and thought what could have happened to change her mind.

"Mizuki."

"Yes, I would have to agree with you Iruka."

The jounin all wondered what the two were referring to. "As you may know on the day of her graduation, Naruto's test was sabotage for her to fail by Mizuki. He then used her to steal the forbidden scroll; and fortunately, he failed after beating defeated by said girl. However, before that, Mizuki revealed to her about the Kyuubi and how it's sealed inside of her. How she is nothing more than an unloved demon"

Kurenai gasped when she realised where the Hokage was going with. "You think she believes that because she holds the nine tails, she is unworthy of love, marriage and family." Asuma went to hold her as tears threatened to fall.

"Yes, exactly."

"I don't care about that! I love her regardless!"

You could hear a pin drop as everyone turned to the mask ninja, the third of his face showing turning a surprising red.

"I… I… I mean…"

"Well Kakashi, you know what they say, 'Actions speak louder than words.'"

To think after that incident everything came crashing down. Naruto succeeded through the chuunin exams, defeating both Kiba and Neji; and then defeating the one tailed Jinchuriki, Gaara of the sand, when the sand ninja and Orochimaru invaded. However, the victory was overshadowed by the death of the third Hokage.

The aftermath though was much worse, the village was without a Hokage and the last 'loyal' Uchiha was a ticking time bomb waiting to set off. Naruto left with Jiraiya to search for his wayward teammate, Tsunade Senju, to have her come back and take the role of the fifth Hokage. She came back of course and began building up shinobi into professional medical ninjas, but as this was happening Sasuke was planning his defect from the village and in the early dawn it was revealed by one slobbering, crying pink mess that he was gone.

Sadly, with the invasion only happening a mere month or two before, there were no senior chunnin, jounin or Anbu available as they were all out on missions to ensure their enemies don't learn of their weak state. Therefore, Tsunade had to send off the newly minted chunnins Shikamaru and Naruto with three genin to drag Sasuke back. Before leaving Sakura had the gall to beg Naruto to bring Sasuke back to her unharmed.

"I refuse. I cannot promise that."

"WHAT!? NARUTO-BAKA YOU BETTER BRING HIM BACK UNHARMED OR I'LL KILL MYSELF OR GET MY MOTHER ON THE COUNCIL TO HAVE YOU EXECUTED!"

"I refuse Haruno because the Uchiha is a traitor to the village; and I was order by the Hokage to use any means to bring him back. Also, run to mummy all you want, she can't touch me as I am protected by the Nara, Yamanaka, Akimichi, Sarutobi, Hatake and Senju clans."

Sakura had nothing to say against that, her mother may be a part of the civilian council, however the shinobi council had more sway. The Sasuke retrieval team then left, Kiba in the front followed by Shikamaru, Naruto, Choji and in the back was Neji. They had faced strong opponents and were able to catch up to Sasuke but weren't strong enough. The team failed with three seriously injured; Neji and Choji were taken by a group of medical ninjas, while Naruto was cradled by Kakashi.

'Naruto. I am so sorry. I should have gotten there quicker. I should have never of taught that Uchiha bastard that jutsu. You wouldn't be hurt right now with a whole in your chest.'

Soon after Naruto left with Jiraiya for a three-year training trip, much to Kakashi's dismay. Team 7 was disbanded, Sasuke a missing nin, Naruto on a training trip, Sakura removed from the ninja program for poor behaviour and lack of effort; and Kakashi waiting everyday for an hour after paying his respects at the memorial stone for Naruto to walk through those gates and into his arms.

'As soon as she returns, I am going to tell her, tell her I am Inu-niisan.'

Three years had passed, Kakashi was walking to the gate holding a small bunch of yellow tulips, Ino had told him they meant cheerfulness and sunshine which summed up Naruto nicely, as well as hopeless love which he has always felt for her. His breath hitch as he saw her at the gate, she was back, and she was gorgeous…

K akashi's lone eye bulged as she walked over to him, her hips swaying hypnotically with each step.

"Hey Kakashi-sensei, I'm back."

Kakashi smiled and handed her the flowers, "Welcome back Naruto.

Naruto's eyes widened in awe, her cheeks blushing red as she shakily takes the flowers. 'She's so cute!' Naruto took a long sniff and sighed, shyly she peeked over the petals.

"Thank you, Kakashi-sensei, they're lovely. I have something for you too."

Reaching behind her, Kakashi watched curiously as she pulled out a blue book and handed it to him. It was a new Icha Icha book.

"Pervy-Sage's latest creation. The plot is interesting, the sex was boring before I edited it. The publishers loved my version and asked if I'd help Pervy-Sage write all his books."

Kakashi's heart hammered against his ribcage. Naruto, a girl, was giving him a porn book – that she helped wrote!

"Are you sure, don't girls find it disturbing guys read this?"

"So? Profit shows that most of Pervy-Sage buyers are women. Besides, you love this series and that's ok. Everyone is entitled to like whatever they want; and honestly; I can't imagine you without reading one, you'd wouldn't be Kakashi without it, ya know!"

"Naruto." Kakashi just gazed at her like she was an angel. 'How can I be this lucky, my student, my future fiancé, has no issue that I read porn. She likes it that I enjoy reading them. Naruto, I love you.'

Grasping her hand, Kakashi began leading her to the Hokage tower, ignoring all the eyes watching them.

'Those two are made for each other.'

War was on the horizon, the Akatsuki were on the move, hunting for the Jinchuriki's. They had already successfully collected seven of them and their next target was Naruto and Killer B of the cloud village. When Naruto heard they had captured Gaara, she along with Shikamaru, Shizune, Temari and Team Gai raced off to save him.

Yet they arrived too late, the One Tail was successfully extracted from Gaara's body – killing him. Desperate to save him Naruto began pumping her chakra into his body, crying as he laid still and unmoving.

"G-Gaara… come on… wake up. Your people need you… your siblings need you… I need you…"

Kakashi felt his heart torn as he watched the woman, he love cry over another man – her brother. His body tensed as one of the village elders, Lady Chiyo, stepped forward; her face solemn as crouched the other side of Gaara and began pumping her own chakra into his body.

"W-what are you doing?"

"Saving him, you silly girl. Now, Naruto, I am going to use a special jutsu to save him; I need you to continue what you are doing until I'm done."

Naruto nodded a serious determination pumped through her veins as she pushed her chakra pool to its limit, never noticing as Lady Chiyo getting weaker. It was quiet and time had seem to slow down…

…ba-thump…

Gasping, Naruto pulled away as teal eyes opened wearily. He was alive. Gaara was alive! Turning to hug the woman Naruto froze at the old woman lying still with a smile on her face.

"Lady Chiyo…"

While the team had succeeded in saving Gaara, it had come with the price of Lady Chiyo's sacrifice, the same woman who had once sealed the one tail inside Gaara as a babe. They had returned to the village with a new strong alliance with the sand village; and Naruto being promoted to the rank of Jounin.

With the growing threat of the Akatsuki, Naruto became desperate to become stronger to protected her most precious people and began training in element manipulation with the help of Kakashi and an Anbu Captain named Yamato. Asuma was amazed to learn of her strong connection to wind manipulation; and gladly gave her pointers – much to Kakashi's annoyance.

For a short time, it was peaceful and quite, but as they say 'nothing lasts forever' as on the day Naruto had mastered wind and was trying to apply it to her rasengan a piece of her heart crumbled with the reported death of Asuma Sarutobi. Like all funerals, it was damp and grey, Naruto watched sadly as a pregnant Kurenai placed flowers on her lovers grave, Konohamaru crying into Iruka's chest as another member of his family died in battle.

And it only got worst when she learnt that Jiraiya had left to infiltrate the Akatsuki's hide out without saying goodbye – and was killed by Pain. For a week, Naruto cried and wallowed alone in her room at Shikamaru's house; she wouldn't come out, not even for ramen.

Kakashi crept through the open window of her bedroom to see a giant ball of orange curled on the bed. He slowly moved over to the side of the bed and gently pulled the covers back and slide in to wrap the crying girl into his arms.

"H-he didn't… didn't even say goodbye… hic… he just left… on his own…hic."

"Shh, Naruto. I know it hurts, but Jiraiya… he knew what he was getting himself into. He did it to protect you and the village."

"How? How can him dying protect me? Shit, Kakashi, we can't even go and retrieve his body to give him a proper burial!"

"He gave us information on who Pain is."

Kakashi jumped as his faced paled. At some point Shikamaru and Shikaku had entered the room, both staring intensely at Kakashi laying in bed with Naruto. Kakashi sweated as he slowly untangled himself and tried to leave Naruto's side; only to be stuck as the girl refused to let him leave, making both Nara males glare harder.

Shikamaru walked over to Naruto and pulled her closer to him. "Jiraiya-sama left us a numeral code. Only problem is we can't decipher it; I was wondering if you could look at it."

Naruto glanced down at the paper that was handed to her.

"You haven't said a word. You see something, right?"

Naruto had a thoughtful look on her face as she read over the codes. Shikamaru had an excited gleam in his eye as he crowded her space to see if he could see what Naruto notice. Kakashi slouched back into the headboard, pouting under his mask as Naruto's attention was no longer his. He glared sourly at Shikaku who was chuckling at the three in the corner.

"That means Lord Jiraiya probably left this message with you in mind. No, I' positive he did."

Naruto sighed in frustration. "There is one thing that's been bothering me since I first saw this…"

"What?"

"Why is everything a number, but the first character written in katakana?"

Shikamaru, Shikaku and Kakashi all stared at the code in confusion.

"Katakana? Where do you see that?"

"Right here, the very first character."

"What do you mean? That's the number nine, isn't it?"

"That's what I thought at first too, but its not the number nine. It's the katakana for 'ta'."

"When you but it that way I can kind of see it, but Naruto what makes you think it's the katakana for 'ta'?"

"Well, as you know, Pervy-sage was always writing a book. He was an author after all." Naruto had a found, sad sile on her face as her thoughts drifted to her deceased godfather. "Sine we were always travelling together, he would constantly have me read his handwritten manuscripts. He always wanted my opinion. I found them boring though."

'Lucky, she got to read all of Jiraiya's manuscripts.' Kakashi pouted.

'It's a good thing Jiraiya is already dead, or I have a bad feeling Yoshino/ Mum and Lady Tsunade would kill him themselves for letting Naruto read one of his books.' Shikamaru and Shikaku thought as they winced at the mental image of two angry women yelling in rage.

"So, I always had a problem with reading them when 'ta' would pop up. It always looked like a number nine."

"I would have to agree with Naruto. When ever I had look over one of his reports with the Hokage, I noticed the same thing."

Shikamaru glanced to his father. "Jiraiya knew Naruto would be able to tell the difference between nine and his habitual katakana for 'ta'. Naruto, why didn't you tell us this sooner!"

Naruto shrugged. "What's the big deal? How is knowing its 'ta' help us?"

Shikamaru got of the bed and turned away. "What if… the book he had you read that mentioned 'ta', is the key in deciphering the code. The numbers probably refer to the order of letters, number of lines, or page numbers."

Naruto flinched backwards into Kakashi, making him growl in annoyance at Shikamaru, as he lent into Naruto's personal space.

"Naruto! Which book was it!?"

"Well, Icha Icha… which one was it again?"

"Then how many books has he published?"

"I don't know. It might be four, or maybe five."

"Then lets' have a look at all of them for now."

Shikamaru grabbed Naruto's hand and began tugging her out of the bed to leave; but was held back when Kakashi wrapped his arms around the girl and tugged her back into his chest, growling. A blue book held tightly in one of his hands.

"This is probably the book your looking for."

Naruto gasped in delight. "Icha Icha Tactics! That's the erotic book Pervy-sage was working while we were travelling."

Kakashi shivered when Naruto gasped in his ear and when the word 'erotic' left her mouth. He gulped and coughed to hide his growing arousal. "The letter 'ta' in the code… This is the only book by Jiraiya that starts with 'ta'".

Shikaku moved away from the wall her was leaning on and moved over to Naruto's desk for a piece of paper and pen. "Now that we have found the use of the letter in the code, it might be the letter or line orders, but the normal strategy is to first look at page numbers. Now let's examine the numbers separated by commas. 31, 8, 106, 7, 207, 15. Six pages in total. The first would be page thirty-one. Please open that page."

Shikaku turned to Kakashi in expectation.

"Page thirty-one…There we go. Where do we look?" Kakashi asked and frowned as Naruto finally pulled away from him to look over what Shikaku was doing.

"In this situation like this, we should start by simply looking at the first words. Please read out the first sentence from the top of the page."

'Wha…?" Kakashi glanced worriedly down at the page. The words staring back at him blurring into the page. 'I can't read this out loud!' Kakashi looked back up, a light blush on his exposed face could be seen as his voice stammered.

"Wait, um…"

"What!? Just hurry up and read it for us!" Naruto yelled, her patience already wearing thin.

Sweat began to drip down Kakashi's face. "B-but I d-don't want too…"

"HURRY THE HELL UP!" Naruto snapped.

The sweat rapidly increased, along with the glowing flush red face in defeat. His voice stuttering and horse. "Th-Th-The truth is… that you l-love me then?"

Shikaku was finishing the last sentence with Naruto reading over his shoulder. Behind him Kakashi looked almost dead on his feet, his cheek was still flushed and steam (and part of his soul) was leaving his body. Beside him Shikamaru had an indescribable, almost disbelieving look on his face.

"Ok that should cover six pages."

"What does the code say?"

"If you read the first word of every page, it becomes… 'The-Real-One-Is-Not-There."

"What does that mean?"

"I'm not sure; but we need to inform Lady Tsunade and Lord Fukasaku. Maybe they'll know."

In the end the code left by Jiraiya did help. Pain had attacked, killing everyone. It occurred whilst Naruto was training with the toads. When she had arrived home, Naruto desperately tried to find everyone using her sensory abilities. 'Kakashi? Shikamaru?' Naruto could feel the burning rage of the nine tails when she realised, they were dead; and lead a rampage on the six orange-haired Pain's. As she was fighting them, she realised what Jiraiya's message meant, they were no different to the puppets Sasori and Kankuro use, which meant the real Pain was somewhere else and raced off to find him.

She had found the real Pain, Nagato Uzumaki, in a cave five miles from the village. She wasn't going to fight him, but talk to him, to try and understand him; and somehow it worked. He use a reverse jutsu to bring everyone back, and died doing so; Konan, Nagato's friend, thank Naruto for saving him and left with his body. On the way back to the village, the strain from the battle earlier finally took its toll. Naruto remembered falling forward, her eyes closing, when she landed on someone's back. The musky sent of green tea, book pages and dogs told Naruto it was Kakashi, her Kakashi.

"Good job."

"Kakashi…"

"Just lean on me."

Walking back to the village, Kakashi carried Naruto on his back in silence. Upon their return to the village there was a huge crowd of people cheering and celebrating their return. Naruto was so shocked by the smiles sent her way, unsure n what to do or how to react after years of hateful glares and bitter words. Kakashi watched as Naruto became surrounded by the villagers as they pestered her for details; picking her up to throw her up and down, his mind drifted back to her genin days and her dream 'My dream is to repay the Nara's for their care and kindness, become the best kunoichi I can be and to hopefully become Hokage; and to one day gain the villager's acceptance and acknowledgement.' There was no doubt in his mind that Naruto has already achieved that.

During the aftermath of Pain's/ Nagato's attack it was revelled that the elder Danzo had tried to prevent Naruto's return to fight Pain in hopes of removing Tsunade as Hokage and take the position for himself. Sakura had tried to cause Naruto trouble by blaming her that the village was destroyed; how if she never existed Sasuke would still be in the village and everyone would have been safe. Luckily no one paid attention to her; Tsunade, in her rush to get to Naruto after waking up from her chakra infused coma, even knocked said girl out.

Lady Tsunade had decided to step down as Hokage to focus more on the hospital and training the medical ninja's in preparation for the fourth shinobi war; and named Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze her replacement. The announcement of her heritage was an interesting affair; when the civilian council found out they immediately said it was all false, that the demon brat was not the daughter of the fourth. It was with a smug smile, Tsunade handed them three copies of blood test done by civilian doctors to prove Naruto was Minato's daughter; the blood test also revealed Naruto being the granddaughter of Tobirama Senju on her father's side – everyone was shocked by that reveal, even Tsunade as she was not aware her great-uncle Tobirama was ever in a relationship.

In the span of a single day, Naruto Uzumaki, a social pariah; became Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju, village hero and the sixth Hokage.

Following the Pain invasion, Naruto left for a meeting of the village leaders in the land of iron; Shikamaru and Kakashi going as her bodyguards. As soon as she entered the building, all hell broke lose when the third Tsuchikage, Onoki, saw her he yelled bloody murder thinking she was her father Minato. It took Shikamaru, Kakashi and other kages to hold the elderly man back from attacking Naruto.

"LET ME AT HIM! MINATO YOU BASTARD!"

"Calm down you old fool!"

"Minato is dead, his daughter is not him!"

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that my appearance has upset you. I know my father's actions during the last war cause you pain; but that's just it, we were at war with each other and with war comes casualties. We are now on the brink of a fourth war, can please put the pass behind us, so we all can have a future with our love ones."

Everyone froze in shock and amazement. Kakashi gazed lovingly at Naruto, 'Naruto your more like your dad than you, and everyone else even realise. You're the woman, the Hokage the third, myself and your dad knew you'd grew up to be.' Onoki scowled in thought silently, he looked Naruto up and down and deep into her calm ocean eyes, before grinning at what he saw.

"Spoken like a true kage, Minato would be proud."

Thankfully nothing else bad happened, the meeting underway and they set a plan into action. The five great nations would unit into one big alliance and face Madara together; Mifune, the leader of the land of iron, designed a new forehead protector with kanji for shinobi for everyone one to wear to symbolise they were all united under one banner. They then structured their forces into specialised divisions and assigned a captain suitable for each.

In the support divisions, there was the surprise attack division lead by Kankuro, the Kazekage's brother. The logistical and medical division lead by the former fifth Hokage, Tsunade, and her apprentice, Shizune. The intelligence division lead by Inoichi Yamanaka, Ino's father; and finally, the sensor division lead by Ao. There was also a seal division with the task of sealing any resurrected or fallen shinobi.

Their main attack force or the great battle regiment; was divided into five divisions; the mid-range battle division, led by the Raikage's bodyguard Darui. The short-rage battle division lead by Kitsuchi; the short-to-mid-range battle division lead by Kakashi; the long-range battle division lead by Gaara, with Shikamaru as second in command; and finally, the special division lead Mifune. Each division, except the support divisions, were equally divided with a commander from each village; the captains' selected for the support divisions were chosen as it was their field of expertise.

As the meeting ended, Sasuke made his appearance and tried to capture the eight tails Jinchuriki, Killer B, for Madara. Naruto and Kakashi were disappointed to see how their former teammate ended up. They heard he had killed Orochimaru and his brother, Itachi; but it seemed he still craved power and would go to any lengths to achieve it, even teaming up with Madara. Despite he claims at being stronger at them, it was pitifully easy taking him down and tying him up.

The Raikage demanded retribution for his attack on Killer B; but let Naruto handle his punishment as he had crimes back home in the Leaf village. Mei, the Mizukage, suggested Naruto and Killer B go into hiding during the battle to ensure Madara didn't get them. Kakashi wanted to agree immediately, he didn't want Naruto to be in harm's way; however, he knew she would refuse. And right he was, both Naruto and Killer B refuse to hide while their love one's fought for them.

"As the Hokage, I refuse to hide while my people go to battle without me!"

In the end it was decided they would stay at the main base where the other kage would be during the fight. Naruto, Kakashi, Shikamaru and Sasuke then returned to the village the following day to relay what has been decided in the kage meeting. It was decided by the council that Sasuke would have his chakra and sharigan sealed away; and be locked up in the deepest Anbu prison while he awaits his trial after the war. Once the foolish, Sakura, heard Sasuke was back she had demand he'd be released and return to his former glory of being worshiped by everyone; her mother, councilwoman Haruno, wholeheartedly agreed. Yet, they were in for a disappointment when no one in the village, not even the other civilian council members who also used to support Sasuke or Mr Haruno, agreed with them and just ignored them (not an easy feet mind you with all their banshee, howler monkey screeching).

On the battlefield, Naruto felt her heart breaking at watching people being brought back from the dead by Madara and Kabuto to be use for their shellfish desire. Haku, Zabuza, Hayate, Asuma, Itachi and Nagato. She didn't want to fight them, they meant so much to her, they each made an impact in her life and taught her so much.

She let out a blood curdling scream when both Shikaku and Inoichi were killed. She could feel Kurama's rage bubbling inside her and went on a rampage on the white zetsu's that dared cross her path to get to Madara and Obito. Her body stilled as she felt four powerful chakra's heading in her direction, one being a chakra she hasn't felt in nearly four years.

"Gramps…"

"Hello Naruto, I see you became Hokage."

"Indeed, Orochimaru told us that my Granddaughter Tsunade was Hokage."

Naruto stared in awe; her idols were right in front of her. Her eyes lingered closely on the second and forth before turning to the third.

"Orochimaru? Sasuke told me he killed him."

"Oh, like that weakling could kill me."

Naruto shivered as Orochimaru whispered beside her. Cautiously she moved away from the missing-nin who merely smirked at her.

"I shall leave you alone to reunite with the other Hokages. I'll be with my former teammate if you need me."

They watched as he shunshined away before falling into awkward silence. Naruto was unsure what t say when a thought occurred to her.

"Hey Gramps… Did you know about my family?"

"So you know… Yes, Naruto, I was aware your parents were Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki."

"How about the second being my paternal grandfather?"

Naruto wanted to giggle at their collected shocked expressions.

"W-what?"

"When I became Hokage and my heritage was revealed, the council refused to believe it until they saw a blood test confirming it. The test showed I am Minato's daughter, and it also showed Lord Tobirama being my grandfather."

The third had a confused and frightened look on his face. Naruto found it funny that it looked the same as the council when they learnt about it, especially after what the put her through.

"I-I didn't know… your s-sensei's granddaughter… oh god Tsunade going to kill me."

Naruto shyly looked to where her father and grandfather stood; both staring at each other then looking back at Naruto. Despite the war going on around her, Naruto found herself running into her father's arms and hugging him tightly. She had always dreamed of this moment, and it couldn't have been more perfect. She felt a hand rubbing her head and turned to see her grandfather smiling down at her. The third and first Hokage watched fondly as the little family finally met each other.

"Naruto, I was wondering have you found Inu yet?"

Naruto pulled away from her dad, who tried to hold her back into his arms.

"No, not yet; and to be honest I don't think I can keep my promise because my heart is drawn to someone else."

"Who is Inu?" The second asked with a frown, wondering why the mention of this 'Inu' upset his granddaughter. Minato had a look of recognition at the name, but didn't say anything.

"When Naruto was little she always dreamed of having her own family with the person she loved. I remember her saying to Inu, 'I'm going to marry you, it's a promise!'"

"WHAT!? OVER MY DEAD BODY I'M GOING TO LET KAKASHI MARRY MY DAUGHTER!"

"What? Inu-niisan… is Kakashi?"

Just then said man appeared beside Naruto. An embarrassed flush on his face as the four powerful men stared him down.

"Kakashi… you were Inu-niisan this whole time?"

"Um, well I…"

Naruto peered up at the stuttering, blushing man and smiled fondly.

"That's good because it means I can keep my promise after-all. I loved Inu-niisan as a child, but now I've fallen for you."

Pulling him down, Naruto planted a kiss on is masked covered lips. "As soon as we win this war Kakashi, I'm going to marry you!" And ran off to fight, leaving her new fiancé with his future in-laws. Kakashi began to sweat as he felt two powerful killing intents drilling into the back of his skull and slowly turned to the murderous looking Minato and Tobirama.

"Kakashi… you BASTARD!"

Everyone fighting stopped as they heard someone shrieked and explosions went off in the distance.

They had won the war, defeat Madara and Kaguya, and brought a new age of peace to the shinobi world. The five great nations had finally united. Naruto had a proper Hokage ceremony on her birthday. It was decided Sasuke would be executed, the world had enough of Uchiha's and the Sharigan, history showed that all the major wars they've had were started because of them. Only Sakura made a fuss about it, demanding he'd be set free; and as always no one listened to her. She became another face in the crowd, and no one from her academy days bothered to speak to her ever again.

Kakashi decided to properly propose to Naruto, with a sapphire diamond ring, near the memorial stone as a way for everyone they lost to witness it. Of course, Naruto said yes, they decided to move in together and wait a year before getting married (mainly because everyone in the five nations wanted to be there, and they wanted to give them a bachelor/ bachelorette party.)

The day of the wedding was magical. Under the blooming Sakura trees and the Hokage monument, Naruto wore an elegant white kimono, her golden hair tied in a high tight bun. Carrying a bouquet of yellow tulips, Naruto walked down the aisle on the arm of Iruka and Shikamaru, her two honorary brothers. Hinata, Temari, Ino and TenTen stood as her bridesmaids, Gai sat crying in his wheelchair as Kakashi's best man. While Naruto was happy to have Shikamaru and Iruka walk her down, she couldn't help imagine it being her father, grandfather, gramps, Pervy-sage, Asuma and Shikaku; all the men who were her father/grandfather/uncle figures that died to protect her.

"We are gathered here today for the union of Kakashi Hatake and Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju."

Naruto gazed lovingly up at Kakashi and chuckled at Iruka's annoyed grunts behind her, he was obviously not happy Kakashi was wearing his mask at the wedding; she didn't mind, Kakashi was just being himself and that's what she loved about him.

"Do you Kakashi Hatake, take Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju as your lawful wedded wife?"

"I do."

"And do you, Naruto Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju take Kakashi Hatake as your lawful wedded husband?"

"I do."

"By the power vested in me I pronounce you man and wife… you may kiss the bride."

The crowd cheered as the two kissed, a few grumbled because Kakashi turned their bodies away so his face would stay unseen. On top of the Hokage monument ten figures stood watching the ceremony. Hashirama, Tobirama, Hiruzen, Minato, Kushina, Jiraiya, Asuma, Shikaku, Sakumo and Orochimaru.

"Nooo! My precious Naru-chan!" Minato wailed in despair. He didn't want his little girl to get married. Tobirama and Jiraiya patted his shoulder sympathetically, they didn't want their only granddaughter/ goddaughter marrying either.

"Oh, quit crying Minato. Its Naru-chan's special day." Kushina smiled at her husband, whilst watching her daughter.

Hashirama grinned and turned to the man standing behind him. "Thank you Orochimaru for letting us watch the wedding of my great grandniece."

"My pleasure. Naruto would have wanted you all to be here to see this."

Minato kept crying as he watched his little girl dance with Kakashi. Sakumo watched proudly as he son finally found someone to love and settle down with, content in knowing he was going to be ok. Hiruzen, Shikaku and Asuma just chuckled at them all thinking the same thing as they watched their favourite blonde celebrate her special day.

'You kept your word, Naruto.'

After the reception ended Naruto and Kakashi returned home. Kakashi carried Naruto bridal style through the thresh hold of the bedroom door and chucked her onto the bed. Naruto laughed as she bounced up and down, wrapping her arms around her husband's neck.

"Well Mr Hatake, what shall we do now?"

"Well Mrs Hatake, I was thinking we could finalise the marriage." He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively, running his fingers up her thighs.

"Ah ah ah, that's Mrs Uzumaki-Namikaze-Senju-Hatake to you. Just because were married means that I am giving up my name."

Kakashi laughed and kissed her deeply before quickly pulling their kimono's off. Naruto moaned as the cool air brushed over her harden nipples.
