Who was the figurine?

Daaamn, wish I could write more serious family angst/tension stuff like this. I saw the movie the other night, and while I liked it I didn't enjoy it as much as the first one. My biggest gripe is that they played it mostly safe and didn't seem quite as serious as the original when it comes to some themes.

But, that being said, this short fic is something I could actually see happening and, if they had put a scene like this near the end, it probably would have put the movie to the same level as the original.

You kept the Deavors in character and it felt like I was reading deleted scene cut from the script.
