Natters chapter 1 . 1/5
Cute fic
Guest chapter 1 . 10/27/2019
I love Ella and Lucifer together. They have the right balance and a true friendship. Would love it if you wrote another story with them being the central focus. Decker star is great but I do enjoy the refreshing stories with other characters.
Patougv chapter 1 . 6/14/2019
The relationship between Ella and Lucifer in this story is so credible. We can see in season 4 how the got closer. I think Lucifer treats her like a treated his little sister Azrael. I wonder how would Ella react in the show if she learns the truth. Your version of it is very, very nice.

Devil'sMiracle17 chapter 1 . 4/22/2019
I would definitely expect friendship fluff in an Ella and Lucifer piece, but what I didn't expect was the vulnerability Ella displayed, and the comfort and friendship Lucifer extended in return, and I bloody loved it. This beautifully complemented the aftermath of Ella questioning her faith in the S3 finale, especially because it mirrors that conversation and all its associated emotions. Surprise, surprise, your characterization of Ella was incredible. It makes sense that her crisis of faith ties in with her sympathy for the devil (get it?), particularly because she values friendship and truth, both of which are integral parts of her character, along with loyalty. Of course Ella would further question her relationship with God now that she knows the truth about Lucifer, her friend, who was so poorly treated by his own father, thrown from heaven, and wrongly vilified by humanity. You described her vulnerability, sadness, compassion and righteous anger for Lucifer, splendidly. What was even more splendid was your answering characterization of Lucifer as an understanding, comforting, empathetic friend, which was very realistic. The way he comforted Ella, gently brushed away her tears, tried to lighten her spirits by joking with her, and placed her own feelings above his own clearly showed how much he loves his friend, and how truly selfless he is. I must admit, I was rather surprised (at first!) that he wanted to help restore Ella's faith in his father, asking her not to foresake him, but then I realized that you were showing that he was doing it not for his father, but for Ella, to bring his struggling friend peace of mind. That was such a huge act of selflessness that you so sneakily wove into this piece! I'm still finding that Lucifer may have spoken a little too calmly and "nicely" about his father, even though I'm factoring in that Lucifer's goal is to offer Ella peace, but that's such a minor, little thing.

You depicted their friendship marvelously through their dialogue and actions, especially in how you showed how much they empathize with each other. I adored how Lucifer offered Ella peace, and in return, she tried to offer him peace, through her love, friendship and recognition of how he was was wronged/hurt. It was so raw and lovely, and it makes me very excited to see what future Ella and Lucifer brotp stories you'll bring to the table. So, consider the testing of their voices to be a huge success! You captured their relationship dynamic very well, especially in how Lucifer tends to understand and read Ella much better than she does him (it still bothers me how openly supportive she was of Chloe and Pierce's relationship, particularly because Pierce was such a raging dick to her, and how completely oblivious she was to Lucifer's feelings for Chloe and how perfect Deckerstar is... for someone so loyal and perceptive, she seems inexplicably blind to Deckerstar and their emotions, like what the hell?). Would you be interested in doing a Douchcifer piece? I actually really love their underrated bromance, which grew so much in 3 seasons, and their dynamic is utterly hilarious (and Dan is such an underrated character).

Your author's note made me panic for a moment because it reads like you're being so much harder on yourself than you should be, so I feel the need to apologize if my review read at all like I was criticizing Don't Hide Away, because you know that I like it (so you didn't lose some!), especially in how you showed that nothing really changed at their core. It's very brave of you to tackle this 666 word challenge series, which you do in sales well, and I still contend that your portrayal of Deckerstar was actually quite spot on, especially when you factor in the shock value and the general unpredictability of Lucifer's (re)actions. I do agree with your insights and explanations; it's super helpful to see what your thought process was! I'll add to it by saying that if was evident that you were aiming for it to be a Chloe-centric piece (which was well executed), and it makes sense that Lucifer would extend her a wider berth, particularly because he is surprisingly submissive towards those he cares about. That leads me to a point that I may have forgotten to mention it in my review, which is that Lucifer does like to surprise people (characters and audience alike), so his favorable reaction in Don't Fade Away is actually more plausible given the circumstances of their encounter than him being insecure, because of course he would be delightedly surprised and hopefully accepting of seeing the frazzled, panicked detective physically and verbally imploring him not to leave, especially with the evidence of his divinity in plain sight. It's like he doesn't even have time or reason to be insecure, because everything is so... normal. It's really sweet of you to want to assure me of my opinion, and this was my (slightly anxious!) attempt to do the same, hahaha.

Anyway, thank you for being a legend and taking my streams of consciousness so well, and for always keeping an open-mind and trying to understand what I'm trying to say. It's a relief, and massive compliment, to hear that you think that I read you so well; I do try! You are an incredible writer with a terrific attitude and desire for self-improvement, which is one of the reasons why I'm willing to spend this much time on reviews, hahaha.
Mad Hat Dragon chapter 1 . 4/22/2019

I love this relationship between Lucifer and Ella, and the way it has grown over time. In your fic, every word seems true and a scene like this one would amazing to see on the show.
This line is so Lucifer : "If it helps,” he teased. “He likes your lot much better than He does me.” It says a lot about Luciferand how he feels about himself. Joking but serious à the same time...
