XProj-ArlyJX chapter 13 . 6/19 You... You have made me laugh, melt, pissed and WEPT just by reading this and your fanfic *Never Had A Friend Like Me*. Your literacy skills has also made me go green with envy and spark my motivation practice my writing again. Gosh, I hope you continue with this fanfic and leave a dozen more chapters. I love Amanda and Norm's relationship that I frikin cried at how wholesome it is. It's like I'm reading Skulduggery and Valkyrie again. I hope that I reach your level of writing. To bring characters to life and to affect me and the other readers this deeply. LIKE WHAT THE HELL MAN?! Please keep writing this sequel. I would love to read more of this amazing work and the relationship of Amanda and Norm. Keep up the good work! |
SamuelthegreatOO chapter 13 . 2/15 I wonder how she'll react to having an actual caring gaurdian. |
SamuelthegreatOO chapter 4 . 2/15 You know, if Timmy told Amanda about Crocker's history, maybe she could ask Norm if there was a way for him to fulfill his dreams. After all, doesn't fairy magic literally run on those who are adults who believe in fairies? Wouldn't it be better if more people knew they existed? And yeah, nice thing there. That's sad and heartwarming at the same time. |
Puella Pulchra chapter 13 . 9/5/2019 Ok so... I love this? I especially loved the scene way back in Never Had A Friend Like Me, when The Pixies and the Anti-Fairies are about to kill Amanda and Timmy Turner and the Fairies, and Norm, completely fed up and furious, gives that 'You pissed me off, and this is what that means' speech It's completely awesome. That was my favorite scene In this story though I loved the chapter 'Overdue Conversation' where Norm tells off her parents for sucking. And I loved his plan to just adopt Amanda and now that Norm has official guardianship of Amanda, I wonder if Tanda is going to meet her at some point. If you decide to continue I mean (Not that I don't understand why you didn't, you have lots of stories, and sometimes inspiration just dies) I remember Norm was worried about Amanda meeting the Female Gypsy and I wondered if anything would come of it. |
redandready45 chapter 9 . 7/21/2019 I didn't comment on this yet, because I've been busy. Now that I've gotten around to reading this, I really like this chapter. Like a lot of people, I felt that Trixie's secret life as a tomboy would've made a for a REALLY good character arc, instead of the shallow "Timmy does something dumb to impress Trixie" type of story. Trixie bonding with Sanjay and Elmer over their love of comics was a really wonderful story. It gives all three characters some development (Sanjay and Elmer get to be more then Timmy's backup friends, and Trixie makes friends outside of her social circle). But the truth is that I find it...bittersweet. Namely because I really felt is should've been Timmy's storyline. I'm not saying that for reasons of shipping (although I am a Trixie and Timmy shipper), but because I felt it was the kind of story that Nickelodeon "should've" written. A road not taken, and all that. |
Guest chapter 13 . 3/27/2019 As cute as this is, truly it is, I still wish you yeeted her parents to Mars. |
QwertySparrow chapter 13 . 10/24/2018 Jesus Christ you have no idea how happy you made me with these stories. |
VeryPeeved chapter 9 . 9/26/2018 Masquerade! Paper faces on parade Masquerade! Hide your face so the world will never find you Masquerade! Every face a different shade Masquerade! Look around, there's another mask behind you |
WeirdLiesMatter chapter 13 . 7/24/2018 He should have sent them to Canada while Norm rains destruction and chaos on Canada |
FountainPenguin chapter 5 . 4/21/2018 Norm's reluctance to upset Amanda with the guilt that would result from anything horrible he did to her parents is the greatest defense against the "Why don't you just shoot them?" argument of all time. Not very pleasant people, but I love what they bring to this story all the same. Amanda and Norm both need some antagonists to bounce off and develop their character from through adversity. Amanda is, in fact, developing as a person. She's grown just a little brave, just a little more willing to stand up for herself- even if she does immediately flinch back against the wall and catch the first bus to Sweatertown. This chapter is utterly charged with emotions, and sets the scene perfectly for our furious sparking genie. |
FountainPenguin chapter 4 . 4/21/2018 Crocker "crashing across his desk" is probably the best description of Crocker's chaotic behavior that can be put into words. I always did like "Bad Heir Day", and it's nice to see someone expanding on it further like this. Poof may not be able to talk, but you can tell he still has a lot to say about how disappointed he is with Crocker. And the mention of Crocker musing about fuzzy memories and how children's lives always seemed surprisingly normal just when he started suspecting them of having FAIRY GODPARENTS! was a nice touch, too. Jorgen's been on his case for a long time, I see. |
FountainPenguin chapter 3 . 4/20/2018 Jorgen, presumably: Remy, you can wish for anything except a few things. Remy: Share the few things. And Norm whisks to his princess's rescue. I love how when pressured by Remy to reveal her secret, her reaction was to duck her head and try to sink through the floor. We know she has the mental ability to explain she has a friend who's a genie looking out for her. She just doesn't have the... social ability. She grew a lot over the course of the previous 'fic, but that didn't make a peppy extrovert out of a timid introvert. Cal: *Comes to work in a T-shirt and ball cap* Norm: *Personally offended* Remy being licked by puppy parents who adore him with undying love is best Remy. And I love your portrayal of Juandissimo. He's such a good person who's simultaneously so awkward. He cares for Remy's happiness sincerely, but has no ability to stand up to him. He's such a permissive parental figure with no ability to discipline his child. At least he made the effort to protect Remy from the very scary genie. I really like this chapter. Lengthwise, pacewise, plotwise, comedy-wise, and characterwise, it is entirely excellent. Nice work. |
FountainPenguin chapter 2 . 4/19/2018 An arcade, a half-court, a magical ferret... What else could an 11/12-year-old boy possibly want? Perhaps being a little more centered in that family photo, and a father who doesn't look at it like he's never seen that boy before. I like how Norm's interactions with Amanda's parents can only be classified into the extremes of "Torment them incessantly" and "Nonexistent". He does not want. He does not want at all. He's a good sport, sticking around to bring HIS Amanda comfort anyway. Not like her useless parents who had dies to let her know about this dinner party are taking care of her. "Go beg on a street corner or whatever the poor do for entertainment" Oh my gosh, Remy. Boy, chill. |
FountainPenguin chapter 1 . 4/19/2018 He... he needs a drink. And he goes with milk. For your consideration: Accidental Loving Guardian!Norm bursting into the scene in his pajamas and oversized stocking cap with a half-finished glass of milk in his hand, ready to fight the world in the middle of the night. Unless he sleeps bare-chested, which would not surprise me. He can still be a good Dad Friend without pajamas. Poor Amanda needs some comfort after all that just happenned. Now I'm wondering what /her/ pajamas look like if she normally wears giant turtleneck sweaters. Here I am, ready to reread and finally review from the beginning of this little project up to where Mark comes in, and where I originally joined the travelling party. Don't mind me poking around in the dusty files. You know you love it. |
ThatBlueStrawberry chapter 13 . 3/21/2018 Ahhh! I’m so glad Amanda’s out of the house! I hope everything goes well with Amanda and Norm as they get used to all the changes (Although with how out of it her parents were it’s probably not going to be too huge of an adjustment). With Timmy and others able to come over to her house I wonder how much chaos that will cause lol |
