Author has written 14 stories for Harry Potter. Proud parent of two teenage daughters who drug me into the Harry Potter universe. Characters run around in my brain late at night, I write for stress relief and to let them out. If I have to pick one, I prefer the Harry-Hermione ship because, well, other than a couple of chapters in book six and the epilogue that's what the books were. (Finally found again the word count site. Quiz on Sporcle. Top 300 words by frequency count in the Harry Potter series. 'The' at 51,798 is not surprisingly the most common. 'Harry' at 16,612. 'Ron' at 5784. 'Hermione' four spots down at 4966. 'Ginny' four columns over at 704. It's not that I don't like Ginny. I just don't have much material to work with. Fred, George, Snape, Lupin, Black, Hagrid, Malfoy are all mentioned more often.) The stories by Northumbrian are H/G and are superbly done and very believable, check them out. His work is what got me into fanfiction to begin with. Other excellent H/G are scattered throughout my favorites. Other pairings, central to the plot or not, are favorited here and many are found on Jeconais' fanfic authors website, well worth a perusal. I won't put Ron much in my stories either, Ron Gets His Wish notwithstanding. I just don't like him much, he was either comedic or tolerable to annoying in the books. Given how carefully Ms. Rowling crafted her books, the fact that she gave him the middle name 'Bilious' says something. He's like that horrid kid in your neighbourhood that makes you ask your parents if you can move. Maybe as my initial ideas get put to page, material for him will start to develop. Hermione is my daughters' favorite character, and mine too. Figure Harry wouldn't have made it without her, you could call the series Hermione Granger Saves the World. Harry Helped. Ron Came Along Too. I like well done humor/parody/crack stories, back in time re-do stories, some of the Azkaban stories, and Harry goes muggle or otherwise for the Tri-Wizard tournament stories. (That being said, I have sworn never to type the words Krum, Cho, or Yule Ball in a story). I don't like super-power Harry; one of the main points of the series is to do what you can with what you have. Hard to find good/believable post Hogwarts stories, do like Chem prof, apAidan and Northumbrian for these. robst is always a good read. Will post infrequently, but will only post complete stories. Hate following a good story only to have it peter out thirty chapters in. Mostly will do one shots or short stories. |
