Took til now to wonder: if the only reason Kel was sent back was because chaos touched can’t kill mortals, then the others shouldn’t have died either... Either they live too, or there has to be another reason Kel is allowed to live that doesn’t apply to the others.

this is one of the best fan-fics I've read, it's on par with the originals although with the length it might be better as two books

Posting not logged in because I'm not on my own computer, but is the line about "holding no one back from honors rightfully earned" meant to be so specific a reference to the Harper stories in McCaffrey's Pern?

It's been ages since I read-or wrote, for that matter-any fanfiction on this site, but the other day I was listening to Lady Knight in audiobook form and was compelled to seek out some further adventures for Kel and Dom.

This story went far, far beyond any of my expectations.

Thank you for reminding me of the joy that can be found from discovering a really exceptional fanfiction. I finished this in about a week, reading late into the night when I just couldn't stop myself. The amount of detail and sheer content you managed to create...it's just breathtaking. Your mastery of plot, and of harnessing so many characters that are distinct and true to themselves, is astonishing. Finding this has been a blessing, and I cannot wait to read your other two Protector of the Small stories. Thank you again for sharing this with the community- you truly have an incredible gift.

This story is so beautifully written and well thought out that I sometimes forget the evens on it aren’t cannon. Excellent work. I read it through every time I finish rereading the protector of the small series.

I realize this was published ages ago but I just stumbled upon it after opening a box of old childhood favorites, blasting through Tamora pierces novels again for nostalgias sake, and (in a fit of stalling) decided to peruse fanfiction. And I am so very glad I did, because wow. Just wow. This was amazing, with incredible detail, character growth, and emotion. There's not much else to say really, and I'm not sure you'll even read this considering how long ago this was published...but if you do, quite simply, thank you. Thank you for sharing your hard work and I can say it's definitely something I'll be rereading! :)
