miraclesnjoy chapter 32 . 56m This story was a wonderful read! Thank you for writing it and sharing! I really enjoyed it! |
Charlotte chapter 32 . 14h That was probably the best story I have read in forever! |
bobthebobster chapter 32 . 7/16 Wow. This book is amazing. I'm not really sure how to explain just how ridiculously amazed I am, for fear of understating my feelings. This is possibly the best fan-fiction I have EVER read. And I've read a lot of fan-fictions. I know that I'm going to check out your profile and *fingers crossed* see if you have any other books. Here's my proper review now: When I was browsing through some of the most favourited Harry Potter books on this website, I found this book, 'Redemption'. I've just finished it, and can safely say that this is astounding. One of the bad things about many good stories I've found; is that the grammar is dreadful. I'm very glad to say that I have no such problems with this book. In fact, I'm not sure if I could even recommend any way for you to improve this! This fantastic fan-fiction is a work which really shows depth in Harry's character, not just in behaviour, but also in his general reactions and thoughts. Lots of stories I've read have shown Harry Potter to be a beacon of light with no flaws, and I'm (for lack of better word) impressed at how imperfect Harry is, even with keeping to his standard hero role. You see, after he spent his time in Azkaban, and he returned to the Burrow, and the whole 'ahahahah i am now dark harry bow down before meeeeeee' malarkey showed up, I was worried that this was going to be your typical backstabbing light side story. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that, even though that he was betrayed by those whom he placed his trust in, he was able to overcome the problem! The thing about all this, is that even though he got through his difficulties, he isn't suddenly permanently healed, and he still has a somewhat shaky relationship with his friends. THAT is an example of accurate human psychology. And I appreciate that. For all intents and purposes, I think this story is great. This piece has managed to portray real emotions, not just happiness, but also sadness, without overwhelming me. The protagonist doesn't randomly change opinions on this, and there is a suitable explanation for all of the characters' behaviours, be it the typical political figure Fudge, or the grief-burdened Black. I for one could never have seen this outcome from the first 10 or so chapters, and yet I'm glad that it wasn't overly predictable, because the suspense was just right, and if I had seen events coming from a mile away it wouldn't have made this such an enjoyable read. Even though the main point of the story occurred just over halfway through, there were still entertaining twists all the way through to the end. I mean, I doubt anyone who has read this could say that they saw Harry becoming headmaster! I can safely say that I recommend this fan-fiction to anyone willing to read this, and on a scale of 1 to 100, I'd give this roughly a 96. ️ I APPRECIATE THIS BOOK AND IT'S AUTHOR ️ |
Guest chapter 32 . 7/15 Magical. I know it’s a bit late but still. INCREDIBLE. Everything fits perfectly and parts of it had me running circles around my yard in excitement. I hope you’ll write more Harry Potter stories! |
Aratherfluffyfatcat chapter 32 . 7/4 Enjoyed the story thanks |
aniz.g.pillai chapter 20 . 6/3 I'm at chapter 20 and sort of disappointed. Such a brilliant beginning slowly dissipated into meaningless triteness... I wonder if you could be gracious enough to grant me permission to utilise the first 7 chapters and see where I can take them? |
HelpmeHermione chapter 17 . 5/24 On second thought, if I was Harry, or if Harry was me, I'd move out of the country. Change my name. Make new friends. Do a lot of travel. Slowly forget the people who held little faith in me. I have to say, on a personal level, I'd hate to cross you. Words do hurt more. And you can be brutal. |
HelpmeHermione chapter 16 . 5/24 Awww, I liked what Hermione and Ron had to say. It was heartfelt. Harry would have to be made of stone to not want to eventually forgive them. |
HelpmeHermione chapter 15 . 5/24 This version of Harry reminds me of book 5 Harry, The Order of the Phoenix. He was super pissy, angsty, and frustrated. His resentment feels so real. You captured how I think he would have felt. How I might feel if in the same situation. The shitty thing about resentment is it's hard to be happy again. And Harry deserves to be happy. Even if his friends don't quite as much for assuming the worst of him. I once heard a saying that I like very much. Resentment is a poison you drink, and expect the other person to die. |
HelpmeHermione chapter 13 . 5/24 I think that all that time Harry was in Azkaban, Harry got to look into Voldermort's mind. That's where he learned those powerfull spells and wandless magic. Also how he was able to deal with being in Azkaban. Unless he escaped and projected a mirror image into the cell, somehow making a solid Harry. Also learning that magic from old Voldy Warts. |
mademoisellecarolina chapter 32 . 5/20 Not only has the story been amazing, but your author's notes are the only ones I've ever enjoyed reading! Thanks for this Powerful!Harry. It's not often we find one so well written :)) |
missgsmith51 chapter 32 . 4/17 About the requests for a sequel ... You might want to consider writing small vignettes with one plot each rather than a big, lengthy, complex sequel similar to this original story. For example, one could deal with finding and dispelling the DADA curse. Write it as a long one-shot or 2-3 chapters. Other vignettes could deal with different issues. Maybe Harry and his two shadows could visit Hagrid and Olympe's school. Harry should get a girlfriend, too. Hmmm ... where is Luna? Or maybe it could be a different girl, like Morag Macdougal or Megan Jones. I would definitely do the small sequels rather than try to take on something that ties you up for months or years. That way, you just focus on things that are quick and of interest to you. Just a suggestion. I really did enjoy this one, btw. You asked about other Azkaban stories. One of my favorites is Corwalch's "Do not Meddle in The Affairs of Wizards." There is another one that is good, but I can't remember the name. It is much darker and deals with the horrors and torture done to Harry by people like Cedric's dad (the reason Harry was tossed into Azkaban), Dawlish, Scrimgeour, etc. It is a WIP. I'll try to find it. Again, thanks for a great story. |
MollyMuffinHead chapter 1 . 3/6 I enjoyed your version of this plot. It had several differences which gave it a unique perspective. Thanks for the story. |
Matt chapter 6 . 2/25 You do realize that "envenerate" is not the correct countercurse for "stupefy". The meaning is completely wrong. The correct countercurse, "ennervate", means basically to give energy or energize. Envenerate, on the other hand, means to revere or regard with great respect. How would revering someone cause them to wake up after they've been stunned? It wouldn't. I've seen this misused in other fics as well and it's always frustrating because it makes no sense. I don't know who started it, but I'm hoping it will drop out of use very soon. |
Guest chapter 32 . 1/19 *sigh* this's good story until I think chapter 26 or 27... forgiveness need time, and I mean really really need time. I know you want to make Harry forgive everyone, but why don't you make time skip for a couple year and then forgive them? It's to quick and I mean really really unbeliveble quick! *sigh* |
