Story Set Up: These are the facts of the Alternate Universe I set up for my stories. Go ahead and borrow anything you want, just please credit me in your world building. In general I will have a very Modern and fun version of the Wizarding world. I image the world being very eclectic. A mix of old, new, chic and boho gypsy.

- The Magical world is a very Matriarchal Society. Women are not looked down on, married off, or treated as inferior. They hold more positions of Power than men. Women are not exactly more powerful than Wizards, but Magic comes more natural and easier to them.

- No more Dark Lord. I will work with 2 different Universes. Either he died while killing Harry's Parents, or her never became the Dark Lord at all. That means in most stories Harry will be raised by either his parents or Sirius Black, so his personality will definitely reflect that.

- Pure Blood leanings are still a thing. Just not AS bad as in the original books. A persons Magical Power/Capacity level is always most important though.

- Witches have issues using with spells during their Period/Monthly. Some can't use magic during this time, some just mess up simple spells, other magic can go completely haywire.

- Muggle-Borns: Will make up an even smaller percentage of the Magical population. The Mothers of Muggle-Borns die after childbirth. No one knows why.

- The sacred 28 all have physical and personality traits associated with their House. This will be well known.

Magical Auras and Capabilities: I wanted Magical Auras to be tangible things. The more powerful a Witch/Wizard, the more obvious their ‘aura’ is. Example: How everyone feels how powerful Hermione is by being in the same room with her. Its this force everyone can just sense.

The stronger you are, the more sensitive to others Auras you are. Let’s say there are 2 witches, A and B. A is powerful, B is on the ‘normal’ scale ability wise. Though B will be able to sense that A is powerful, it will just be a sense, they won't have a real idea of the scale of their magical ability. A on the other hand, would be able to judge anyone's capability that is close to her in power, or lower to her in power. This gives people with great magical capacity even more of an edge.

And lastly, just like in the real world, where people are a bit more reserved with strangers or coworkers, but at home are relaxed with family and close friends. That's how I wanted people to treat their magical auras. Keep a bit of a leash on it, but when with those close or trusted family and friends, let their magic mingle.
