Author has written 12 stories for Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter. After all this time? Always! Yes, I do adore Severus Snape and I always will. Which is why my stories are almost all exclusively Harry Potter, and are featuring Severus Snape paired with Hermione Granger. I am currently writing on one longer story (Guilty Pleasures) and I have written several HG/SS oneshots or snippets which I like to add chapters to when the mood, the muse or reviews strike me. And yes, I cannot stress how important and incredibly wonderful your reviews are. They keep me going and make me finish new chapters so much faster. Which means if you're waiting for an update to a certain story, send some reviews over... ;) I am not a native speaker of English but I was lucky to find a beta reader who is. That being said, I often go back to change a word here or there so it might happen that even though the wonderful SassenachStarbuck looked over it, you might still find a mistake or two later on but then it's all my fault. UPDATE 2018: As FF. net refused to let me be searched by my name (for some unkown reason), I have changed my profile name. Still the same me, though. Cliffhangers for the win! UPDATE May 2018: I am taking part in the Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition, so some stories might be slower to progress than usual. I hope you understand. I will keep working on them, I promise! UPDATE July 2018: I have resigned from the QLFC after round 5. There are several reasons, but the most important one is this: I’ve started writing fanfiction for entertainment with the goal to write high-quality/entertaining stories, and like many authors, I thrive on reader feedback. Of course, taste differs a lot in what makes a good story. A strong indication, in my eyes, is how many favorites a story receives (even more so than follows or reviews). If I have a look at the entries of season 6 QLFC and have them arranged according to most favorites, then two of my stories are ranking second and third place of several hundred entries. (Which is very awesome, by the way, and kept my mood in high spirits even tough the judge's feedback was quite negative; so thank you to all my readers who put the stories on their favorite list! If you want to see said ranking, follow the link; of course 2./3. place can change anytime, and is expected, seeing as every two weeks, another 100 stories are added to the forum). /community/The-Quidditch-League-Fanfiction-Competition-entries/115681/3/4/1/0/51/0/14/ Yet, exactly those two stories have received lowest scores so far from the judges. This shows me that the readers of (as well as me) have very different criteria as to what constitutes a well written story than the judges of this competition. This, of course, is their opinion and I do accept that; still that leaves me with a conflict – either I will be writing stories that I perceive as high quality, but that will score only a few points for my team, or I will have to write stories that might appeal to the judges, but not to me or my readers. And as I am writing for me and you, not some anonymous judge with an opinion I cannot relate to or share, it was the only and best decision to leave the competition. Luckliy, my teammates were very understanding. And, most importantly, the negative experiences with the competition have affected my muse and my current stories were unable to progess as a result. I've only added two chapters to my original stories since starting, which, for me, is not enough. UPDATE NOVEMBER 2018: The lack of updates this summer was mainly due to me falling in love with my personal Severus and having the time of my life, and now, having my heart broken in the most tragic way. Which is why I won't be able to keep writing love stories for the next couple of months. I do plan to return and finish them one day, but I don't know when I will be able to deal with love again. |
