Wonder how Astrid would feel if she heard that thought? About it probably being the only time Hiccup could ever hold his wife.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hiccup managed to Get Toothless airborne before the wedding so he could leave and fake his death so Astrid could be single and her family keep the dowry.

Poor Hiccup, first he frees the downed Nightfury out of pure sympathy, and next he's engaged against his will to his dream girl who he knows would probably kill him.

Noooooo I this story I’m sad that it has ended

I'm not sure why, but this story reminds me a lot of Earn It by MidWestMexican. it's not identical, and I'm not saying you stole it, but it's very similar. Astrid's dad being in a wheelchair, the talk in the forest, even hiccup faking the comsumnation. In that story she was a lot meaner though, and Hiccup faked it with paint instead of cutting himself.
