Well, it's not just the power the Dark Lord knows not. It also happens to be the power Fumblemort knows not as well. Riddle wasn't paying attention to the muggle world during the fifties and sixties when the claymore mine was invented and thus didn't know about it. Thus it truly was the power he knows not. I am left wondering if you expanded on this story. I've read one similar to this where both sides had mercenaries. Voldie had Russians and Harry had American. Both ex-military. The Americans used a very nasty toxic brew that was NEVER to EVER see the light of day. It was not only a nerve gas but exceedingly explosive not to mention corrosive. They dug a pit, placed a couple of barrels with C-4 around them, covered the pit, placed rune stones to contain the blast, took cover, said the taboo and when the Snatchers arrived to capture them set off the explosives. Afterwards they covered everything and relocated to do it all again. Rinse and repeat as necessary. In the end, Voldie and his last Death Eaters and Mercenaries got tricked into attacking what their spies said was a safehouse but had all the remaining toxic stuff and C4 Harry had. Voldie and his Russians thought their decontamination suits would protect them but were proven wrong. The Goblins refused to help Harry in anyway so they were removed from the living world via VX nerve gas. Harry and company rolled several barrels of it down into the tunnels under Gringotts. Naturally, they all had explosives on them. So very similar to this. But I enjoyed both very much. I think Harry also quoted Sun Tzu init also.

There's a fic at Outpost Daria Reborn and/or this service where Daria Morgendorffer and Jane Lane are in a crossover and pulling this same stunt using guys armed with machine guns. It didn't do your conclusion, though.
