Thank you for the story.
It reads well, but there are some issues which might be Americanisms:
1) one one hand Hermione's parents try not to be showy (e.g. not using Dr.), on the other hand they are driving an SUV and a sedan.
1a) they live in London, so most ways would be by public transportation (one car would be sufficient).
1b) the 1990es was a time of depression in the UK. Lots of people had no work or worked e.g. in Germany. Lots of restaurants were closed.
1c) a SUV is a very unsuitable car for most of the narrow British roads.
1d) a large station waggon/estate car and a Mini (or Vauxhall Corsa) would be much more suitable cars. (Even if the station wagon is a Volvo or Mercedes.)
2) The paper Hermione received from Harry should be A4, or maybe a special format, but not the American legal paper format.

I absolutely adored this wonderful tale. That's why I've taken it upon myself to continue it, though I can only hope to ever be half as good as Matt. WHERE IN FUCKS NAME IS BOOK TWO

One correction I would like to make though is that the Salem witch trials did not burn anyone at the stake, they were either hanged or died during interrogation. It was in Europe that they were burned. Also the trials happened in late 17th-early 18th century.
Also Minerva seemed to have conveniently forgot that the magical government nearly fell to a band of psychopathic terrorists who wanted a magical form of what happened in Nazi Germany and most of the inner circle that was caught were let off with flimsy excuses.
Still a good story thus far.
