First, didn't Harry say that he had refused to date Victorie until she was of age? It doesn't sound as though he broke any laws there. As for Ginny ... well, Harry was never "her man." Harry cleared up that misconception in the first story. Simply put, Ron lied to Skeeter, and his lies resulted in Harry fleeing the country. Besides, Ginny has finally come to the realization that marrying Harry was her mother's dream rather than hers. She has also figured out that Molly's brainwashing has cost her years of potential happiness and fun - the opportunity to date and enjoy youthful romances and the chance to marry someone of her choice and have children at an earlier age.

Those who are or were plotting to have Harry arrested (mainly Ron, though potentially Bill and Percy) need to pay closer attention to Victorie. It sounds as though she did the pursuing and wore him down ... but not until she was legal: "... he refused to touch me in any way that wasn't platonic as long as I was still a minor, and he didn't feel quite at ease with being more than twice my age."

I wonder if even Ron and Hermione were this scrupulous: "We dated for four months - no Mama, nothing more than kissing went on in that time - before he proposed, and then we got married last November."

Ron has well and truly lost Harry's friendship and will never regain it. I'm not sure about Hermione. Harry nailed her perfectly when he said that "she is still firmly convinced that she knows what's best for everybody, and that the only opinion worth dealing with is her own."
She is never willing to admit she has erred in any way; yet she MUST do exactly that and seek Harry and Victorie's forgiveness, if she is ever to regain Harry's friendship. Honestly, Harry wants her to truly understand WHY she was in error, and that is a tall order for someone whose identity and self-worth require her to always be right ... in her mind, at least.

Bill certainly received an education in every aspect of Veela nature that he never knew he required ... and which has left him distinctly off-balance. I definitely don't think Molly can handle that knowledge. Based on her (canon) treatment of Fleur and of Hermione during fourth year, I'm always reminded of the descriptors of Mrs. Bennett in Pride and Prejudice - she was a woman of "mean understanding" and "illiberal mind." Think about it. Even though Arthur had suffered under Skeeter's lies, Molly was quick to believe what she said about Hermione; and her treatment of Fleur in book six was disgraceful. Fleur must have loved bill very deeply. Had I been in her place, Molly's treatment would have ended my engagement. You really DO marry the in-laws, as well as your spouse.

I would like to think that this entire episode brought understanding and enlightenment to the Weasleys most likely to jump to conclusions without all of the facts - Molly, Percy, and Ron. Unfortunately, I don't. However, it did seem to heal the relationship between Bill and the Potters.

While this is still Harry and Victoire's story, I so would have liked to see what happened to Ron, or even with Hermione for that matter, at the end of the story. Thanks.

I really enjoyed both stories. I have no idea really what people could have been upset about regarding the age difference. At first glance there's a 'huh, what?' moment, but you described the circumstances very well in both stories.

Hermione's take was interesting. '...her mental image of Harry was from half his life ago...' was a particularly good line. I've known people like this, they judge and make assessment of people based on who they thought they knew decades ago. One of my sisters is like this...she can't see others (including me) outside of how she saw them as teens. With that one line I understood perfectly that Hermione's perception of others and the reality around her was skewed.

I liked the viewpoints of individuals on the 'outskirts' of the fray, in particular Charlie's. I thought they were well done.

A quick comment regarding ages of majority/adulthood in different countries: Another reviewer stated that in most countries adulthood is reached around 14, and that it's only in Western society that it's 18 or higher. That's actually not true at all. The majority of the world is 18, with more than a dozen at 19 or higher, and less than a dozen at ages below 18. Most of the countries that have adulthood at 20 or higher are not 'Western societies'. (Info taken from Wiki 'Age of Majority' page)

I loved these two one-shots and think you have done a great job. Though I am a Harmony shipper, I know no throwing sharp pointy objects at me, I find this pairing interesting. The fact you have kept Hermione in her going no-where piss poor marriage to the git that lives Ron is astounding. The fact he is known to have continuously betrayed Harry yet she stays with him is shocking. I would hope this latest revelation would make her see that Ronald Bilius Weasley is nothing more than a jealous lazy prick that is worthless and only holding her back. She should get a glimpse at what she could have had in Vic's life with Harry, if she had only pulled her head out and told Harry how she felt and not backed Ron she might have been where Victoire is in her life. Again great story and plot I am glad you went on giving us the reactions but I think you let Molly be a bit sober in her reaction.

Yeah, it isn't like a Weasley would EVER bother to learn their WIFE'S native language.
Would have liked to see Bill try any shit with Harry-send just one curse at The Man Who Conquered. Makes as much sense as anything a Weasley ever did in canon.
