Good start

This was probably one of the best fics I have ever read, and one of my all-time favorites HTTYD fics by that. I found it when I was looking for both long and complete fics, and figured a 27-chapter story would be a good way to pass the time. I didn't expect being sucked back in to my childhood, with two of my favorite characters and the beloved cast of one of the best animated movie and series I ever had the pleasure to watch. Before starting this fic, I read some of the reviews, and noticed that one of them mentioned that they loved how instead of throwing the contract into the chaos of the first movie, you moved back a year, threw the contract there, and then returned to the plot of the movie so it all fit together nicely. I had an absolutely FANTASTIC time reading this, and once I'm finished with writing this review I'm going to start the sequel because I can't get enough of your writing. Thank you for taking the time to write this masterpiece.

For as many stories revolve around a Hiccstrid contract like this, they all seem to try and balance the revelation along with the events of the main film. What you do, and I think is smart, is go back a year, allow a bond to grow.

Which will then get shattered by some Toothless dragon. Well then...

I'm gonna have to stop here. You're not a bad writer by any means, I actually kind of enjoyed the beginning but this is novelization of the first book plus a betrothal. I would have like to see Hiccup doing something with his training or just something different. I feels like their betroth didn't really add anything to the story other than some fluff here and there.

To be honest, I found and started reading Ghosts first, and I fell head over heels for it(I know it's still being updated, but I already love it), not only for its plots but also for your writing. So I knew I had to find this one, and I knew I would not be disappointed even though I normally don't like stories about Hiccsrid that young. Now that I finished, I regret I didn't read it sooner:)
I am saving your new chapters of Ghosts for the moment, and I can't wait to read them all after my final exams for university are over! Every time I receive the notification of Ghosts' update I scream a little, and the thought of that story makes my day brighter. GREAT work!

You know, this story, particularly how close Hiccup and Astrid are, remind me of the story Blind Spots? Have you read that? It’s a good read.

You know, for some reason I just imagined Viggo crashing the party on his Skrill to give his own congratulations to the couple. I think I'm going insane. Anyway, the story was brilliant, especially with the fact you put the time and effort in creating chapters from Astrid's POV while Hiccup was in his coma. It has been extremely well written and I couldn't find any spelling or grammar errors. Looking forward to what else you come up with in future. Take care.

Had a random idea. With how this story is going, and how Astrid would sometimes join Hiccup in the forge, what if you did a few one shots based around this fact, for when Hiccup built his modified leg, his dragon sword, his shield, things like that? Maybe even have something along the lines of Viggo returning extremely injured and both Hiccup and Astrid help him with some inventing? Just an idea though. I'll leave a proper review once I read through this whole story.

Stock is a fascinating character, one of the most developed characters in How To Train Your Dragon. This chapter adds layers to him, presenting that he never stopped loving Hiccup, just stopped being able to show it.

This chapter does resemble Blacksmith Apprentice, but it differs in a few key factors. For one, Astrid still has her parents, and Hiccup’s not a pariah.
