I am also a total and complete Daikari/Dakari/Hisuke nutcase! I love Daikaris!

My favorite character is Daisuke, and frankly, I'm really tired of seeing all these fics out there that totally rip on him. I'm fed up with it to here. Please people, look at the Daisuke in the japanese version before you start making all these judgements. And you shouldn't hate someone because of their feelings for another person. Daisuke likes Hikari, does that make him a bad person? Wait, who was it who saved them from MaloMyotismon's Illusion? Who saved Kari on his first day in the digiworld? I'm sorry people, but I am very defensive about Daisuke, because he is greatly under appreciated because of the horrible dubbing. You think Naruto and his "believe it!" was awful? Try watching any of the Digimon Adventure 02 episodes in Japanese. It is almost like a different show altogether.

I am a Daikari enthusiast. It's my favorite pairing from Digimon. That does not mean however that I think Daikaris are the only couple worth reading about, or that I'll flame you for ever saying Kari ended up with someone other then Davis. This, like all fanfiction, is simply my personal preference. I am alson now a rabid Robin/Raven fan from Teen Titans. I know, there's something about me and oddball couples. While we're on the topic, while I'm pretty cool with other couples, the one coupling I will not stand for is PataGato. It's VeeGato or nothing folks!

Daikari vs. Takari, the endless debate!

You might be sitting there asking "ssjgokillo, why do you like Daikari so much?" To that I respond that you should probably quit talking to your computer screen, people might think you're crazy.

To be honest, when I first saw the dubbed version of Digimon 02, I was immediately drawn to Davis and his crush on Kari. The way he was so open with it, never hiding it, made me really admire and root for him. Then a friend showed me for the first time, and I was astounded to see that not only was there a general lack of Daikari fics, but that most other Digimon fics made Davis out to be this random jerk. And the prevailing fics at the time that centered around Takari, normally assumed a relationship between the two for reasons I still find mind boggling (more on this below). That's not to say all the Daikari fics I read were literary works of art either, but I still found myself enjoying them. As I've tried to explain to the countless people who've flamed me over the years, there is no right or wrong pairing in all of this. It's called fanfiction for a reason, and if you don't like reading about Davis and Kari, then go back and find a story more to your suiting.

Alright, so now that we've covered the whole ssjgokillo is a Daikari fan, let's talk about the whole Daikari vs. Takari thing.

First off, if you're going to write a Takari story, more power to you. Just please for the love of DemiVeemon, do not try to base their love off their Crests. I don't know who exactly got it into their head that Light and Hope had to be a pair. Both crests can just as easily be attributed to any of the other crests. I mean, what could be closer to Hope then Love? Second, do not base their relationship on the fact that they both have Digimon who can digivolve to Angel Digimon. That's a conversation starter, not a relationship starter. If you met a person walking down the street with the same breed of dog you have, would you ask them to marry you? I don't think so, but if you answered yes, then I wish you and your puppy the best of luck! And finally, and maybe most importantly, Do not, I repeat Do not base their relationship on the episode His Master's Voice. Everything in it is a dub invention. Seriously, it is awful what they did to that episode. Kari and TK never shared that sappy "I care for you too" moment. Watch the original episode, it's called Call of Dagomon.

I can argue all day the merits of one coupling vs the other. I'm sure you can too. The problem is, that won't solve anything, as it's all based on personal opinion. So please remember, if you're going to flame me for writing Daikari fics, I'm going to use said flames to roast marshmallow and make S'mores, which I will then give to Davis and Kari for their romantic camping trip.

Daisuke Motomiya, the TRUTH!

Alright folks, it's time for some shocking news. You know how sometimes (okay, probably most of the time) when you're watching Digimon here in the US you can't help thinking that Davis is quite possibly the most annoying character of all time? Guess what... that's because when Saban dubbed Digimon Adventure 02, they did so by taking the show and sticking it under a lawnmower. They then picked up the pieces that were left, and threw them in the shredder. They then took those pieces and tried to put them back together like some elaborate puzzle. It is not an exaggaration to say that entire episodes where hacked and slashed and pasted together to fit the dub writers needs. In the process of this mutilation, the dub writers decided to make Davis the way we see him...In America! I've heard a lot of stories as to why this happened (including one saying that one of the higher ups in the project liked TK&Kari as a couple, and didn't like Davis because of his crush on Kari) but all I know is that Davis is not as bad as the dub makes him. If you want some examples, feel free to click on my homepage link. It leads to another site called Digimon Uncesored (and no, not in that way) which shows the difference in the Dub vs. the Original. One of the most ridiculous changes is the fact that Davis really had no problem remembering TK's name. In the first episode he used a really rude way of saying "You" and Kari responded by telling him not to call TK that. The whole TS TM TC TJ thing is just the first of many dub inventions to make Davis look like the dumbest, rudest kid on the block. Davis is a hothead, and stubborn, but not nearly as bad as the dub makes him out to be.

Seriously, do everyone a favor and go watch the original.

Digisenshi, wtf?!

So if you've read my original story Digisenshi, I'm sure you might be a bit confused. Let me just start by saying when I wrote Digisenshi, I had seen maybe ten episodes of season 2, but they weren't all in a row. So my knowledge on somethings was kind of off (Digiports, Destiny Stones, etc). By the time I'd realized (aka had people point out) my mistakes, I was already winding down the series and heading into it's sequel. My only real regret with Digisenshi is that the characters are very OOC. Especially TK, who I tried to justify saying he was in a difficult position. I am currently working on a revised version of Digisenshi, which I should have posted sometime in 2010.

Update 07/30/2007

So now I have a couple of new favorites when it comes to fanfiction, Naruto being my new passion. Of course, my favorite couple is Naruto/Hinata, but I also can't get enough of Naruto/Harem. It just seems to me like if anyone deserves extra love, it's Naruto. I've also noticed a lack of good NaruHina fics. I've found a couple really good ones, but very few that actually have a relationship between the two, like the author just takes it for granted that they'd be in love. That being said, I can't stand to read about Hinata with anyone but Naruto. I know this sounds kinda hypocritical considering I'm all for NaruHarem, but there's just something about it that sits wrong with me.

Another thing I absolutely can't stand is Sakura or Sasuke bashing. While Sasuke might not be my favorite character, a lot of authors seem to have a hard time writing him well. And Sakura seems to be generally hated because A) She likes Sasuke and B) She gets frustrated with Naruto's constant attempts at dating her. I can't really find it in myself to fault her for either of those.

I also can't stand A)People who talk crap about things that are cannon (i.e. Elemental Affinities and their strengths and weaknesses), B) Naruto who isn't precisely dark, but he isn't his regular self either. I've read a lot of fics where the author tries to write Naruto like he is in the Anime, but does something silly like makes him forsake his friends or some such. It gets frustrating IMHO, because part of what makes Naruto so interesting is his unwavering determination and indominitable spirit, and C) Naruto/OC. I've seen a lot of cool OCs in Naruto Fanfiction, but this pairingnever sits right with me. You'd be better suited trying to convince me that Naruto is madly in love with Orochimaru or Danzou or something.

Also, I suggest any fan of Naruto to read Stranger Than Fiction, a Naruto story you can find in my favorites list. It's very slightly AU (Or could be considered such) but honestly I think it should be made cannon.
