Ron and Hermione was always strange. Strange and cruel to Hermione. Tea Spoon intellect of Ron just does not go with Hermione. I am, in fact, was strangely surprised by what JKR did to them. Books 6-7 are just very power quolity of logic.

This is ridiculous. On the other hand, it is Ron. He is together with Lavender, but for some reason is angry that Harry is with Hermione?
Is he really so stupid to think that Hermione would wait for him to finish with Lavender? On the other hand, in canon Hermione is that stupid.
Or Ron doesn't care for Hermione and just doesn't want Harry to be happy? Such a "best friend" he is.

Where does the idea originate that Ron fancies Hermione?
I can somehow understand that Hermione would go for Ron, if she assumes nobody else would want her.
But that Ron would fancy her at the time of the Yule Ball? He said words to the effect "Hermione, I just remembered that you happen to be a girl, I can take you to the ball" and "Certainly nobody else would want to go with you". That does not only indicate that be barely acknowledges her as a girl, his thinks that nobody would see her as a girl.
And of course if he really fancied Hermione in sixth year, he would not be together with Lavender, when Hermione makes it obvious that she wants him (whether because of potions or because of her insecurities).

This story is very well written, and you've done an excellent job of "fleshing" out the characters! They seem very real. Great job!

I first read this story ages ago, before I had an account here, and lost track of it at the time. However, a couple of scenes stuck in my head, such as the fight in the tower and the lily on the blackboard. I'm so glad that I was able to find this story again, because I think it's amazing! Excellent job capturing everyone's voices, and it's so refreshing to see a HHr story where Dumbledore and the Weasleys are portrayed as competent and caring individuals. While I didn't remember it from my first read through, I think my absolute favorite scene is when Harry manages to finish his animagus transformation for the first time; very emotional and a powerful scene.
Keep up the amazing writing, and I hope your muse finds you again and you update this story again, but if not, I've started to read some of your other works and they're just as amazing!

Hermione is somewhat patronizing in how she uses her smarts around her friends. Harry is duly obtuse and disregarded by those around him.

Maybe I'm seeing things out of proportion, but Harry seems portrayed as more ineffective while Hermione is the super effective smart girl, who knows best. Roughly: "Hermione's always right, always knows best." Just like with SPEW and disregarding Harry about Draco early on.

Idk.

I am greatly enjoying this story and I would leave to keep reading how Hermione is going to be rescued. Leave it to her devices to break out on her own I bet lol. I wonder if you will be updating this story again someday? Its a shame to leave a story this good in the abyss.

I find myself disappointed... So said Voldemort and I agree. To leave the story this long... (oh wait. I've done that too). In any case, the next chapter is long overdue and by the way, to kill Hermione's parents was too much for me to stomach. This story should probably be moved to M rating to be safe.
