And now, challenges! The Saving Joke - Batman AU fic inspired by the comic The Killing Joke. Basically, what if the Joker and Batman had been at different sides from the beggining, what if Joker was a police detective who despite losing his family in a shoot-out after chasing the man known as Batman still tried to be a hero, what if instead of wanting chaos he wanted to save people from feeling that same despair and bring smiles to their faces? Incidentally, what if Batman was a man who only looked for the thrill of battle and to prove himself better than others through skill, strength and brains as one of the greatest criminal masterminds with no sense of humanity or remorse, even to the point of killing his parents as a kid to have their money and power? Joker would be a great, charismatic hero who despite being insane like canon would look for the greater good, as in saying, "People say you only need a bad day to crack and become a monster...
