Larva of the creature, Gohma littered the ground. Gashes littered its eye signfying its weak point. Naruto and Linka had continued their treacherous journey inside the Great Deku Tree continuing solving its puzzles.

Cut marks littered the wooden shield that Linka kept at ready. Navi's ability to shine brightly proved rather invaluable in blinding the creature's who singular large eye proved to be such an easy to exploit weakness.

Finally they had arrived to their destination. The core of the Great Deku Tree. A grand chamber where Gohma was hanging from the cieling.

The eye of Queen Gohma eye flashed a murderous yellow as she let forth an unearthly shriek that shook them to the core.

"Don't be afraid. When I stun her use that time to attack the eye."

Sure enough the queen's teeth were glistening with acid. Its large size made it nigh impossible for an ordinary person to strike at the weak point.

The Queen Gohma leapt at them, pincers extended, fully intending to tear through them as Naruto left over and Linka rolled forward to move underneath the beast as she landed, her claws snapping on thin air. Naruto extended his arm and slammed into the shell of the creature. The resounding slam resulted in Gohma letting out a shriek.

Leaping off the wall from his bounce Naruto slammed into the creature bringing it crashing into the ground.

Linka took the opportunity to sink the blade into the side of its eyes. Gohma wailed furiously as she lashed out knocking the Kokiri aside. Linka's sword and shield skidded out of her grasp as hot surges of pain coursed through her from the attack.

Navi flew close to his face, her blue hue bobbing worriedly in front of her. "Linka!" She cried. "Linka! Come on, get up! She's coming Linka!" A series of scraping noises informed Linka that the Queen Gohma had turned around to face her, and was indeed moving closer. She let forth a series of high pitched screams interrupted as Naruto slammed his foot into one of her legs causing it to break under the force.

"Forgotten about me already?" He taunted as he dodge a sprayof acid.

Linka struggled to sit up, blinking bright spots out of her vision. With her vision clear Linka quickly began forming a plan on how to deal with the monstrosity. She began searching her person and came across her slingshot.

Pulling some deku seeds out of her bag she took aim. Firing some seeds at the distracted queen it let out a hiss as the flash of the seed blinded the creature.

The loss of mobility from the broken limb caused Gohma to lose her balance. "Linka now!" Naruto shouted as Linka ran over to her blade and scooped it up. The arms of the queen flailed wildly in the air nearly nailing Linka who ducked under them.

A wild battle cry erupted from Linka's throat as she leaped and drove the tip of her blade through the monster's eye and into its brain. All the raw emotion and fury she could draw upon was put into the strike against the creature that would endare invade her home.

The Queen Gohma let out a great spasm, as the screeches that left its mouth grew quieter as her spasms died down.

Linka dropped to her knees, exhausted and injured. She looked up to see a hand. She looked up to see Naruto extending a hand. "Thank you." Naruto helped her.

Navi came to hover over them. "Linka!" She screamed, her voice shrill with worry. "Linka! Are you alright? Linka!"

"I'm...fine." She began looking around. "How are we going to get out of here?"

"Up there!" Naruto said as one of the roots of the Great Deku Tree had begun to move. She let out a startled yelp as Naruto picked her up in a bridal carry. Large chunks of dirt were displaced as the light of the sun could be seen. Naruto leaped up through the whole not waiting to see if a means for them to leave would be formed.

They landed on a patch in the sacred meadow where te tree deity was gazing down upon them.

"Well done young heroes, well done," rumbled the Great Deku Tree, his voice booming throughout the clearing. "Thou hath succeeded most admirably."

The curse on the Great Deku Tree had been broken.

''Well done young ones, despite your success it seems my life won't go back to normal after all.''

''W-What? No but we killed Gohma you just have to survive Great Deku Tree we need you.'' The young warrior pleaded.

''Listen well Linika…As I was being eaten by Gohma I understood her intentions…She was under a spell herself…The one using this frighteningly evil power…Is a Dark King of the desert…His desire is to conquer Hyrule and make the Triforce his.''

''Triforce?'' She asked in confusion.

Naruto answered the question for her, ''It is the sacred treasure forced by the three goddesses… Nayru the Goddess of Wisdom and Element is Water…Din the Goddess of Power who values Passion and Element is Fire and Farore the Goddess of Courage who values diligence and Element is Wind. Together their power created the Triforce an all powerful artifact that came create a reflection of the wielders desire. A pure hearted person can create a world of wonder while those of evil will create a world filled with unimaginable horrors and evil.''

''A horrible crisis is drawing near for Hyrule…that person must not touch the Triforce! However, with your courage surely you can kill his ambition…'' The Great Deku Tree informed her.

''I…my dreams there of what to come aren't they? I can't do it… I can't fight someone so scary.''

Naruto moved to the front of her placing his hands on her shoulder causing him to look up at her.

''You aren't alone in this Linka…I came in search of the Kokiri emerald as part of a quest to stop this man. You will not have to do this alone. I will be by your side every step of the way so you don't have to face such a person on your own.''

''It is as he said…Never forget your own inner strength…before I perish I must inform you of an important matter. You wonder about it day and night."

Link spoke suddenly very silently, "I...I'm not a Kokiri, am I? That would explain my unnatural growth." the Deku Tree didn't speak right off but digested the intelligent guess.

"Indeed Linka. You are a Hylian, a pure blooded Hylian. You were born in Hyrule during the great war and ended up in the forest. And as a Hylian the entire world is now your responsibility." Linka nodded boldly holding up her sword, "I swear to avenge you." she said great seriousness and promise in his eyes.

The Deku Tree was turning darker by the minute as he uttered more of his final words, "Now Linka go to Hyrule Castle Town. There you will surely meet the Princess of Destiny and the Hero of Time. These two will be your partners in your adventures and they will know what to do next. And take this gem. The stone the man wanted so badly he cast this death curse upon me." There was a brilliant flash of light and Linka found herself holding a large emerald with a gold outline in the shape of the Kokiri's emblem.

The Deku Tree spoke in a commanding voice next "Now go Linka and don't look back. I entreat ye...Naruto...Navi...Goodbye." Linka slowly stood in attention and saluted the dying guardian wishing him peace in the after life.

"I'll be waiting." Naruto told her as he went on ahead to give Linka her last moments with the being that was essentially her father.

Linka started walking not looking back as she knew the Deku Tree was dying right behind her. The sound of withering wood and death was heard in the air but Linka didn't look back as he spoke "Goodbye. Great Deku Tree." Navi said the same thing and they took off as fast as they could back to the village, they were responsible for the safety of the world now they had to make haste and get to Hyrule Castle Town.

Naruto waited patiently for Linka to finally arrived. He turned and saw that the girl still had the same solemn expression. She was going to need some time to get her head back in the game. They shared a look and was getting ready to depart when something stopped them.

''Oh, you're both leaving already.'' Spoke the sad yet sweet and familiar voice of Saria as she stepped out of the shadows of the entrance.

''I'm afraid so Saria…I'm sorry. Naruto and I have to go. This is something we must do." Linka was determined to honor the fallen sage's wishes.

Naruto had to admit had grown rather fond of the Kokiri during his stay here. He was a bit sadden to say good bye.

"I always knew you would leave this forest someday. As no Kokiri is ever born a child."

Linka walked toward her placing her hand on her shoulder, "Saria I know what you are thinking and I don't want you to go with us. Its far too dangerous."

Saria gave a slight smile, "I know. I didn't think you would let me. But please, I want you to take this from me. It should give you luck, at least that is what I've been praying it to do." she handed her something wrapped in a cloth.

Navi watched from Linka's cap as she slowly unwrapped the cloth revealing a small tan Fairy Ocarina. Linka looked up at Saria surprised, "An Ocarina. But why?" Saria turned to face the Kokiri forest "They say that the Ocarina is an instrument of both nobles and knights. And I believe it is fitting for you to have. Please take it. And I hope it will remind you to come back and visit." Saria and Linka gave one another a hug out of friendship.

"Naruto...well...I." Saria wasn't sure how she wanted to express this sentiment.

"Yeah...me too." He said as he went over and hugged her. ''Take care of your self.'''

''I'' she let out a sniffle. "Will...keep an eye on Linka. Don't let her get in any trouble you hear."

"I will. That I promise." They waved their goodbyes and with that Naruto and Linka left the Kokiri forest into the great Hyrule Field.
